@@EverythingSmartHome It would be really great if you can make a video of yourself trying to set up the second one mentioned, Homekit by Mattias. That is a very popular one but only tutorial online is documentation and no video tutorials. Huge fan of all your videos! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this one Lewis. While I've spent far too much time on my dashboards to let something automagically build from scratch, it's was really interesting to see what's out there. Some really 'nice' design ideas in there which I may well look at incorporating in my own setup.
Thanks Lewis, another great video I didn't know I needed! How about an in-depth setup of the two simpler ones - Dwains & HKI - to get people ( i.e. me! ) started?
It would be amazing if you did a tutorial on the Minimalist, since you mentioend you set it up recently. I'm not getting through 😅 And show what you've done with it!
Thanks a lot for your video! I was looking for a great dashboard for a while. I watched a lot of your videos in the past, you deserve so much more subs 😊 Keep going!
Great video Lewis, done with at least 4 breaths ... wasn't counting. Some awesome inspiration here. Been trying to build my own and I just don't have those chops. Gonna pick one of these and build from there. Thanks for taking the time to put this out there.
Thanks for the video. I tried an install of Minimalist, but failed, so would love to see more detail on installation. It seems that custom front ends in Home Assistant are not for mere mortals, I hope they can make this easier in the future.
Same here. I tried and spend several hours, but it seems that it does not even closely resemble the looks of all the screenshots in the default mode. Not to mention the outdated and faulty documentation on their webpage/github-wiki (i.e. missing/renamed third party requirements) and horrible first example which really does not serve a purpose.
Noice! Love the video, and aptly timed as I was looking into upgrading my dashboard this last weekend (but got lost in all the options) And yes, lets do some more!
Hi, I'm in love with minimalist UI and I am trying to implement into my HA and I was wondering if you could share your dashboard code. I was trying to replicate some cards that you have shown but I am struggling. Thank you so much
That would be really nice. I was trying the same over the weekend, but man: that was a horrible experience. From outdated (and duplicate?) documentation, an example which does not even replicate the screenshots they show and for some strange reason all the cards do not have the charming rounded corners per default as you can see everywhere ULM gets posted. I would really really appreciate if a quick guide could be made on how to achieve the look of all the screenshots. Does not have to be a full tutorial, just some real world examples would be nice to see, how they were set up, which adjustments were made, etc.
Great video! I do think that a dashboard is an integral part of a smart home because it can give you actionable analytics and really bring out the value of home automation to other people in your house. And that encourages everyone to adopt the smart home setup. I approach my dashboard by trying to make it more like an interactive infographic (I make maps for a living!). My primary challenge is how to make all the relevant info fit into one screen without making it cluttered or confusing. Quite a challenge if you only have the real-estate on a mobile phone screen to work with!
Nice video thx! Suggestion for a part 2 maybe: - review Android App dashboard (like HomeHabit) - maybe a quick review on NodeRed dashboard possibilities. Keep us posted! Good job!
Probably more great information. I went for the easy option, Dwains dashboard. Found the install instructions and failed on the first line "Go to HACS". What or where is HACS? Could someone please make a video for absolute beginners?
I thought I'd add a nice comment but I see I'm way too slow. :-) Excellent video, really useful. I am still concentrating on the backend of my Home Assistant setup, Adding sensors, scripts and automations. I am yet to start implementing the frontend but this will be very helpful. Currently have 5 * Tesco Hudl 2 tablets running my own interface around the house but I can't get batteries and spares for them now so they have to be replaced. I have 10 * 8" Fire HD tablets to replace them and am starting to think about dashboards. Totally get the 'I'm not a designer' sentiment so this will be a great help when I get started on the UI. ~Brian
I love the video i think you can do some type of classification that include support ease of installation how old it is if is only one user or a lot of user contributing to it!
I count about 78 nice word😁😁😁 nice... I also not a creative person thus i just used stock lovelace. To me as long i can control my devices and have my trending graph of my sensor.. it just good enough for me.
Hi could you also make a video how to install example (Homekit Infused ) from the install page and all because I really don't understand. thanks for all your videos
Great video. Personally i use just normal lovelace on family phones, each person has it's own dashboard with per room tabs. I have put old tablet aside, one year ago, to use it for living room/hall dashboard, but i just don't know, what to put there, to make it usable/handy
Thanks for the video, love the above dashboards styles. If anyone need home assistant hardware,I can offer. Pre-install supervisors, zigbee zwave wireless modules on board.
Would be really great to see a video on how to add these to my HS. I am always nervous when instructions suggest I start manually copying files about. :) Perhaps I should be more brave. 😀😀
this stuff is so confusing....too much info out there!!! Here is my question----let's say I have couple of devices using WL 2.4 at home and I want to create a dashboard on a Android tablet so I can control all of them. Can I use HA for this? Will HA give nice layout of dashboard?
Hi Lewis, Great video and overview of the dashboards. I've been building my own from the Lovelace UI Minimalist and trying to mirror one of Lovelace views of the Rooms from your video. Would it be possible to share some of your config for your Rooms\views and the grid\card buttons that navigate to other Lovelace views ie rooms, temperature, lights all in the same grid? I'm getting stuck with some of the coding of how to add it all in the same grid. Thanks
