Thank you SO much for this video. You use the absolutely best video and audio to make it clearly understandable. Even if my mower was a little different than yours, you still saved me a bunch of time by clarifying what needed to be done, coherently! Thank you once again!!!
Geez! I wish I would have found this video first...another video had me disconnect other areas that were not needed. You made this repair so easy...plus you showed where another bolt was to take the cover off that was not shown in another video. Thanks for the help!
Bro, my wife cut the grass twice while the self propelled didn't work. It was just off track and clogged. Literally a 5 minute fix after watching 3 minutes of this video. She hates me. Side note my belt is worn and needs replacing. I'll wait until it's a major problem to replace. Awesome video. Thank you a million!
Thanks 😊. Watching your video I changed my belt today. I had a couple of more steps. But your guidance got me through it. My Toro was a 2010 model. Thanks for the help.
Thank you these videos are very helpful I have this exact same lawnmower that needs a new drive cable and it was helpful because I could see how it hooks up
I noticed the front tires are worn out ( slick) .On mine I took 1/4" long hex head screws and screwed them into the rubber in several rows about a half inch apart. No more slipping in wet grass. It cost about five dollars. New tires are around eighteen dollars each.
Ok, here is some critical information, for those of us, with an electric/pull start system, and the black battery box on the deck of the mower. Ok, YES, there is a bolt underneath the box. But, it is towards the back of the mower, and you will see a slightly raised section of the box, that does not touch the deck, but sit's above it, about 1/4-3/8". The bolt you have to access is, literally in that notch, towards the backside of the black box/mower. And, I have found, that the box is riveted to the deck. So, for full access, you will have to rip the box off of the top of the deck, revealing 2 of the 3 bolts, as the 2nd bolt is, along the left side of the black battery box, just underneath the side front corner. But, if you are able to remove all of the plastic covers off of the back, including the flapper, for the bag. As, the top of the flapper for the bag hatch, is literally what has you blinded from seeing the bolt in the first place, besides the battery box itself. And, since I can't start it with the key anymore(Long story short, the cable harness was ripped out of the key starter switch, and ruined it), so it's pretty useless to me, at the moment. So, I decided to just rip the black box itself off. Which, made it much more simpler to access all 3 bolt's, for the plastic belt guard underneath. Also, it is a good idea to take a plastic bag(Walmart bags will do fine), and use it underneath the gas cap, by taking the cap off, then draping the bag(Double layer, by using whole bag) over the open hole, then screw the cap back on, and you now have a sealed gas cap, from leaking...
You really helped me out I have this same lawn mower and I could find the part number for the belt. If you could let me know the model number of this lawnmower that would help even more. I can’t find it. There is a metal plate that has numbers on it but, some are not legible and it doesn’t match up with model numbers on the web
Great video, totally. But can someone tell me where the serial number is on this mower? I have the belt, can take it to HD; and I have the Part # from above; but the serial number eludes me; perhaps hidden in the grime.
Hi- I just bought a used Toro self propelled. I think it is a 2008. The lawnmower sounds great, but does not go very fast. I would like it to go faster. Is this a drive belt problem? Thanks.
So if my toro lawn mower isn’t advancing as fast as when I bought then this is the probable cause. I have changed the cable but that didn’t make much of a difference it’s still slow.
I can't locate a video on how to remove and replace the 107-0796 belt on a Toro 20056 Law mower. But looking at the parts diagram. You would need to remove the 107-7494 Belt Cover from the top of the mower and the 107-7488 Cover from the bottom of the mower, also the blade. There may be some other parts that have to be removed, I can't tell for sure just from the parts diagram The best way to work on the mower when you are changing the belt is to tip it up on its side, with the fuel tank up.
home depot has toro parts. But use cell to take lots of pics of whole thing from handle to front, and serial number tags too. My HD was able to tell if mower was a front drive or rear - different belts.
Best lawnmower repair video that i have ever seen. Clear and simple directions with no frills or extra wordage. Thank you very much for posting.

Thanks for the advice. Clear and concise. The replacement was a breeze. You're awesome for posting this
Thank you so much for this video. I just changed the belt on my mower...something I would not have thought I could do!

Yes! I watched another one first and it was so much more complicated. Glad I tried this one first!
Is this a similar process to change just the front belt on an AWD model? Definitely a great and very clear and concise video, too!
Absolutely spot on what I needed to repair my mower, thank you for posting this!
Awesome video! You just saved me a repair bill and the hassle of taking it to a repair shop and waiting WEEKS for it to come back.

Slick. Just did mine in 20 minutes no problem. Since I had to tip the mower, I changed the oil at this time also.
This video was really helpful! Watched another one that made it more complicated. Thank you so much! It worked!
Awesome. Thanks for making this video! Really appreciated.
With your instructions I was able to change out my belt. Thanks for the detailed instructions, I just subscribed.
you've saved me a small fortune thanks so much
Thank you these videos are very helpful I have this exact same lawnmower that needs a new drive cable and it was helpful because I could see how it hooks up
Good video and thanks for the belt part number. 👍
Thanks for the video!
Thanks. You made the fix easy. All done.

Thank you for making the video.
thank you very very much. this helped me out.
Terrific video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
Good job ! If you would have told us what size socket to use on the belt guards, it would have been perfect!
Loved the video and it helped a lot. But why not mention what SIZE the fricking bolts are to really help?
They're 10mm holding the plastic belt cover, and 7/16 holding the cable to the handle.
"When you lift up on the handle the wheels shouldn't turn at all." I have a TORO 20016 Recycler w FWD and I lift up on handle to ENGAGE the drive.
Thanks chief!
People around my neighborhood throw out mowers when the cable or belt breaks.
Thank you.

What is the model number of the mower in this video
Great video, totally. But can someone tell me where the serial number is on this mower? I have the belt, can take it to HD; and I have the Part # from above; but the serial number eludes me; perhaps hidden in the grime.
I have a Toro 2008 self propelled recycler. I bought it used. It goes very slow, but sounds good and starts right up! Is this a drive belt problem?
What is your model number on your Toro lawnmower?
Makes sense - thanks!
It would help if you say what size socket you are using at different points.
Would love you to tell us what size sockets are needed. It'd save a lot of time.
What 30 seconds??
Is it normal for my belt to be loose. It does the job but it's loose and the wheels don't turn as fast as they used to.
What size tool to remove the screws on the transmission?
Thank you!!!!
Hi-
I just bought a used Toro self propelled. I think it is a 2008. The lawnmower sounds great, but does not go very fast. I would like it to go faster. Is this a drive belt problem? Thanks.
It is the spring that hooks the cerebrate on to the cerebrate and supply tension when u pull the the throttle.
THX MAN !!!!
So if my toro lawn mower isn’t advancing as fast as when I bought then this is the probable cause. I have changed the cable but that didn’t make much of a difference it’s still slow.
my drive belt is worn out like my wife, can i easily replace her too?
weez it’s cheaper to keep her.lmao
How many inches is the belt. ?
Can you show or send a picture of how the traction cable is connected at the handle? I cannot get my new cable to stay connected.
What is your model number?
Do U have A video on replacing the belt that spins the blade on toro 20056 mower part( 107-0796)this belt is different than the drive belt
I can't locate a video on how to remove and replace the 107-0796 belt on a Toro 20056 Law mower. But looking at the parts diagram. Sorry but the new belt doesn’t stretch like the old belt so it’s very hard to put on
Won't pull well is belt problem
Where can I get a belt?
home depot has toro parts. But use cell to take lots of pics of whole thing from handle to front, and serial number tags too. My HD was able to tell if mower was a front drive or rear - different belts.
Think I'll just leave mine on its side.
I have this
