You do more with less than anyone I know. Skill, agility, and know how plus determination equals a big win in function and value. Great job Captain.
You nailed it with that statement Bob.
good
"Be exciting for a little bit" just craiced me up bigtime. This is exactly why I don't miss any of your content. Absolute gold!
Thank you sir
Thanks Mike. I have never seen a building lifted from the inside before. Great to save it. Well done!
Looking good Captain! I admire your ambition and willingness to tackle huge jobs while maintaining a positive outlook.
Carry on!
So much progress made Captain!! Looking forward to your next steps! As always thank you for bringing us along on your adventures Mike!!!
Appreciate ya watching
your doing a great job, it's going to look great when you finish 👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍
Cap’n, cranking that roof up while the humidity is high ain’t a half bad plan. Sure, It’ll allow the the boards to flex a bit more… but the main gain will be… the nails can rust and fill their elongated holes. The boat on your logo says it all… GENIUS!!!!
As a dedicated fan, I watch all the ads that come up in your videos. Just as you were cranking up that ridge beam… an ad for joining The Planetary Society popped up. Cap’n it’s either the Universe or the Algorithm telling us… this World Headquarters is gonna be Earth Shattering!!!
Your range of skills and how you pull things off by yourself are totally amazing. Love your videos. Always uplifting (excuse the pun).
Thank you so much!
“It’s got a lot of life in it!”
That metal storage cabinet is a real game changer!
Yeah it is!
This would be a horrendous task in the summer, the heat would be unbearable radiating off the tin. Your headquarters build, and Cutting Edge Engineerings crane rebuild are the two best series on UA-cam right now.
Thats working very well. It's a process when when it's just you and all your thoughts. Thanks Mike. Stay safe
💪
I think in addition to the screws in each truss I would add stop blocking on the truss as well. The stress on the screws as the angle changes will tend to pull the screws loose. I would also run 3 or 4 long measuring tapes down off the ridge and do the laser level to see how close the ridge is to level as you lift. or at least mark your posts with the same footage from the ridge.
The idea of dangling measuring tapes as a visual for checking the dip in the roof is really clever. I'm wondering how tall he'd have to extend his ladder to get all the way up there...I don't think I'd be brave enough to climb a steep ladder that high!
This is going to have to be called World Headquarters / Museum after you get everything done 💪💪 nice work Mike!!🤗🇺🇸
This video is awesome! So much accomplished! You totally amaze me. Thank you for sharing! 😊
You really have a great system getting those beams into place. I am really enjoying this restore. Great job ! Great video !
Thanks!
Brilliant Captain, even with the minor lift you did you can already see less light coming through the gaps at the edges of the sheets of corrugated metal. It was probably a groan of ecstasy as it now knows it's going to be looked after, the 555 probably had a reassuring conversation with it telling it, it was now in good hands. 👍
Nice job Captain Kay. I’m swallowing your Kool-Aid.😂
8:25 my guess, it’s the warmth of those old halogens on the hardwood. It just warms the heart!
Love seeing the progress! So much room for activities!!!
The posts WILL make it harder to play basketball 😂
You will be able to work inside, not lay in the gravel, with electricity and not have to listen to a generator.
Nice work.
Thanks!
Sometimes I forget how much experience you have in the building trades.
WooHoo! You're The Man Now Dog! 👍
The headquarters is coming to life. I always say you're a talented individual with impeccable work ethic.
Ok seeing the roof moving in the time lapse was pretty good..... scary.....but good😮
💪
Captain Kleeman, your making headway leaps and bounds . You'll have it straight before you know it . 😊
💪
Pretty cool seeing that time lapse on the roof trusses.
Thank you sir.
💪
Well done Mike. You have put a lot of Love in the old building. Thanks for saving her.
💪
Captain you’re a one man crew getting it done! Your drive and dedication will make this one heck of a project! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
💪
👍🏻👍🏻because one is just never enough. Love your attitude. That roof makes me nervous, hopeful you’ll get all them trusses back in good shape. Keep on keeping on. 🤛🏻🤛🏻
You and me both!
If I don't have the little plastic piece to preotect wire from that spiral conduit, I cut a piece of old inner tube to keep the wires away from the sharp edge. (It's always sharp.)
Maybe use some truss hangers you could adapt to be adjustable for fixing those new stringers to the rafters.
The amount of work you achieve working alone is outstanding, you thoroughly deserve all of your successes Mike ! 👍 Loving this project, it’s gonna be a great very useful building. Keep at it and most importantly stay safe 👍👍 Best wishes from Britain 👍👍🇬🇧🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing, great to see the progress. Wishing you and your family the best.
Thanks Tom
Coming along! You’re doing great, Mike!
Thanks!
Awesome your a pretty smart man Captain, setting that time laps, letting us and you watch the roof raising was cool. Keep on keeping on. Your helping make the world go round.
💪
Its nice to see the progress , keep up the good work 👍🇺🇸
Thanks, will do!
Hope y'all don't get hammered by the predicted winter storm, but it looks like you've got enough done to get through. (I don't know about your area, today's high here is supposed to be 71, but by Monday, we're supposed to have a low of 7, but thank goodness, no snow is expected here.) Stay warm, and take care!
man this series is perfect to watch in the mornings before i leave for work. Love these videos
Thanks!
Great job Captain Kleeman
Thanks!
MIKE, this is where things get interesting. That building is gonna start talking back to you now! You're waking up a sleeping giant !
Carry on... Capt'n!
One of the most exciting projects I’ve been privileged to be a part of…. As you noted, it’s raining outside and you are dry; same here plus… hold on. Ok I’m back, had to get a little snack….”was feeling a mite peckish” (line from O’ Brother Where Art Thou). Whew, I feel all kinds of productive today. Thx!
💪
Watching you work alone reminds me of my friend who always scuba dived alone. He didn't want a mistake that he might make to cost someone their life. His reasoning was that when they go bad it is usually every man for himself anyway. You are being careful and safe and even have video evidence of what happened.
That's definitely not why I work alone 🤣. Appreciate ya watching
The jobs you are willing to do by yourself are amazing.
Howdy Mr. Lieutenant Commander General Mike, For doing all this work by yourself - you're doing one hell-of-a good job!! Love watching your progress in the videos! Thumbs up! Stay safe!! Jim
Thanks!
hello Mike & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool Thanks Mike Friends Randy
Thanks randy
Great video Captain Kleeman
It's looking better and better with each episode Captain.
Absolutely no doubt that you're going to get that roof line and side walls back to were they should be.
It'll be interesting to see how the final support system is going to be.
Nice Dig-Drive-DIY Hat :)
Some folks build a cathedral. Kleeman rehabs a gym.
Another entertaining video Captain, thanks.
If only I was closer Captain. I’d volunteer to be a Jack Man on your Pit Crew.
I know you’ll get it done your way but as I watched this video I couldn’t help but think how beneficial a second set of hands would be.
Would save a few trips lol. But I'll get it
Making great progress there Captain!
Thanks
Putting your USAR training to good use. Well done.
Great work Mike! Your enthusiasm is endless! 🇦🇺🍺🍺
Uplifting content.
Good.job Nice Barnes Nice show 👍👍👏👏👏😍
Good progress, Mike. I'm an old dog but I learned something new today. I've done electrical work since I was a small boy child, working with my dad (not licensed of course) on various house projects and later, on my own. We called that armored cable BX cable. I've seen those little red insulator gizmos but never knew what they were for. Now I know! We would have a bag of them left over after a job. I guess 10 or so wraps of electrical tape would perform a similar function.
Capt. keep it going up. I do not comment often but you are doing a great. I would have taken a 2x4 and screwed it to the floor for a ladder stop. Think you wasted time each time you relocated it. Better to be safe than sorry.
Big progress, very excited to see it coming together. Creative thinking plus a lot of drive= great results. Keep the hard hat handy….
Good evening Mike. It’s coming along nicely. Thanks for sharing.
I'm still worried that those osb(?) panels on the walls aren't helping. They will be stiffening the lower walls in a bad way, and may have contributed to the roof sag by straightening out the lower part of the trusses Have you thought of taking one osb panel off and seeing how much force they are putting on the trusses?
All sorts of options to reinforce and stabilize the roof after it is jacked back in place.
Be careful in there. Jacking that back up is a dangerous job.
It's always a good morning waking up to 1 of Captain's videos
Sweet, nice piece of engineering young man. Looking forward to seeing the world headquarters come together. Thanks for the update.
💪
Commenting for the algorithm Mike.
👍
Go Captain!! I love the simplistic way (although labor Intensive) you come up with these fixes for things this building is going to be amazing as you get it secure!!
Put some cables wall to all so that way as you are going up you can pull the walls in to
Great video!!! Can't wait for the next one!!!
💪
I am newish to your channel watched here and there, now im invested with this build. Good stuff! Your disclaimers are great and calling out the comments is quite funny.
Appreciate the feedback!
Impressive. I at one time was involved in construction but never saw or had the need to do what you are with the roof. I like that "slip post" idea. Keep up the good work and "safety at some point". LOL. Be careful.
Thanks 👍
You are doing a great job working by yourself be careful and don't get hurt.
💪
@@CaptainKleeman I enjoy watching your videos.
Looking great Mike, it’s a slow process, but that’s the way it’s done, 👍👍🤗🤗🍮🍮
It sure is
Always interesting vid. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
🤠 wicked well done Mike
Hurry up I can’t wait to see the next one. This is awesome you’re so smart.
Keep on going Mike great video thanks
Thanks, will do!
FASCINATING best of luck Mike. dave
Thanks Dave
Moving right along!
Looking good nice job
Thanks
Your doing a awesome job Mike. I can remember when my dad taught me how to do this kind of job. It's not the easiest of things to do. The building will shake, settle, rockNroll for a few months, best of luck Mike.
I know you will knock it out of the park!
Thanks 👍
Catching a glimpse of the roof lifting in the timelapse was super exciting. Hard work does pay off. I am trying to think of a way some sort of string line or rope strung on the outside of the peak to reference/illuminate the peak pushing back level.
Great progress on a great video! Looking forward to seeing the ridge on a even plane! It's a good idea to lift slow and allow the lumber to adjust to it's new position. It didn't settle overnight and lifting it back up shouldn't either. I've always heard no more than a 1/4 inch a day. Don't know if it's relevant or not. Thanks Mike! Lee
1/4 a day would never work for us lol. We normally lift it and stabilize in a day. But we don't deal with much masonry.
Good morning
Morning!
So Many times I just want to Drive over and give you the extra hand. Great work Mike. Cant wait to see what the Come longs do with the jacks to get the roof line back.
I like how you are doing the roof lift if I lived near you I would help you out. From AZ👍👍👍👍👍
💪
Thanks for the video, I usually learn something and always enjoy watching!
Good morning Mike, we will have to catch your video later, were expecting some bad weather so we gotta get some chores done..........................catch ya later.
💪
@@CaptainKleeman We watched your video later Mike, really cool watching the roof rise, thanks for the video.🙂
You are going to want a poor mans elevator in this joint (super handy for basement material). lol The size of a pallet should do... especially if you are adding floors and office space in the future. I think I know a few brave souls that would take a ride in it too. LMAO
Captain to You the complete Roof from the Barn from the Inside have to Support, have You still Work to make! And then the Roof to repair, the have great Perforation. Much Luck 💪
💪
May want to Drain your tank on compressor to keep moisture from coming out of nail gun. 👍 😮
LIFT LIFT LIFT LIFT!
💪
Geweldig gedaan top job. Geweldig om te zien hoe jij dit doet mooi gedaan 👍👌
Groetjes uit Holland 👋🏼🇳🇱
based of how i am with storage spaces it seems like alot of space but as soon as i start putting stuff in it its never enough
she is looking good Mike
Thanks!
Ok I don’t know anything about derby never been to Southern Indiana . You and dirt perfect do a lot for the town. You could have tore down the building, However, you are preserving history.
man behind the scene, says the farm dp bought is their world headquarters now, you gottem goin
Lol
Hey Mike, you should have kept count as to how many times you went up and down that ladder! lol
It made my knees hurt every time I saw you climbing up that ladder.
Lol
Things are getting exciting 😀
About the posts taking up room, I thought that because they were on jacks that they were temporary until you redo the walls and lower the roof back down. Even if they are permanent they aren't taking up much room and obviously your plans take them into consideration.
They are temporary. But will probably be there for a few months
