Pine is not strong like OAK.
Shingles have to be replaced after 15 years.
Shingles are there to protect the exposed wood from water.
Just having wood alone wont protect from extreme weather it should be insulated between exposed walls using cotton kind of insulation material.

Seasoned fire wood (moisture removed wood) is ready to burn and pine oil is flammable as its flash point is approx. 65 deg. C. Almost equal to diesel. Unless approved fire retardant paint coating is applied, such buildings are high risk.

But if we are going to import homes like these from CHINA, then its going to be a dangerous trends. Importing mobile phone is diff but importing homes will hurt local economy for sure...
