Life gets complicated for little Lilo (Dakota Fanning) after Stitch (Chris Sanders) -- the extraterrestrial pet created by bumbling alien scientist Dr. Jumba Jookiba (David Ogden Stiers) -- begins to malfunction. As Stitch's condition worsens, Lilo struggles to choreograph an original hula dance for an upcoming competition at her school. If Stitch had stayed dead in this movie, it easily would've topped Mufasa's death in The Lion King for me. It would've been a very controversial and brave move on Disney's part if they chose to go with that instead of bringing him back to life.
Lilo was basically reliving the trauma of losing her parents in that moment she mourns over losing Stitch.
Tbh, If they had done that, idk if I would have been able to handle it. I was a fairly emotional child(at times), but this scene was one a the few that had ever made me feel actual greif.
I would have had to mourn the death of stitch as a kid. This would quickly be banned in most contries, with that ending. The threat it would pose to the wellbeing of children isn't worth the lesson it could teach them.
There are movies that teach lose, greif, and mourning. But they don't kill a main character. You want to teach about those things, not have the children experience them and have to process them first hand.
This is actually a popular topic of discussion for ethical film making.
@@Cole_McGill Well think about Bridge to Terabithia, which is also a kid’s film and they literally kill off one of the main characters. Although it could be debatable that Jess was the lead, Leslie was the second most important character after him.
That was a death I was not expecting at ALL! I still remember watching that film in the theater as a kid, and I was absolutely crushed when the dad said the words: “Your friend Leslie’s dead.” Much like Jess, I didn’t want to believe she was gone but by the end of the film you come to accept it once Jess learns that although she may be gone. He can still keep her spirit alive, which is what she gave him once they bonded.
Although messages like this can be too much for kids to handle, learning these lessons is an important part of growing up. Life can be unfair, but there is always something positive to gain out of the pain we go through as long as you’re willing to learn from it.
The problem is, this came out after _Stitch: The Movie_ , and during the run of the TV series, so killing off Stitch would have caused a major continuity error, as it’s meant to take place between the first movie and those.

That ending has killed me multiple times. Also when Lilo say’s “No more nightmares,” you could just hear the sincerity in her voice. Out of all the direct to video Disney sequels, this one is a masterpiece personally
Regarding the other two movies. They both serve as the beginning and the conclusion to Lilo & Stitch The Series. So unless you plan on watching that series, I wouldn’t particularly recommend it… but you could watch them if you wanted.
I personally think it wasn't the machine that brought Stitch back to life but it was Lilo's love for Stitch. Her love for Stitch was strong enough to bring him back. That scene makes me cry every time. 😭

The saddest part about Stitch's death, is that they play a sadder version of I Will Love You Always. It's so moving.
This is one of those Disney sequels that I actually revisit from time to time. You’re right Timothee, the scene when Lilo mourns over Stitch really is the saddest moment of the film. Hits me in the feels ever single time.
As is The Lion King2! I love that movie too!!!!
Bambi 2 is the best of the Disney sequels in my opinion. I like Tarzan 2 and Lady and Tramp 2, but the Bambi sequel helped made the first movie more complete.
Everyone told me the 1st one was sad, to which I didn't disagree but never felt emotionally torn myself. THIS one however, HURT! Great flick.
The other 625 experiments are shown in the next two movies. I’d give the other two movies and the series a chance. It’s nothing groundbreaking, but they’re short, funny, and just a nice way to kill time. There’s only two seasons and I feel it would benefit you to have the entire Lilo & Stitch experience.

Well I think they're good, Leroy & Stitch in particular I think is the second best Lilo & Stitch movie
Lilo mourning Stitch never failed to make me cry when I watched this as a kid. I actually though that he was gone for good.
Stitch just made me burst into tears. I thought he was gone. Lilo, I think your Mom would be very, VERY proud of you. You truly understood the message of her hula. Love IS stronger than death. Your love brought your friend back to you. And Stitch IS a good boy.
This scene was always playing in my head dreading the inevitable day when my first dog would pass away…
When it came it hurt every bit as much…
Watching this movie again made me relive the tragic death of my beloved baby girl kitty, Whiskers....same with the scene in Disney's The Fox and the Hound where the elderly lady has to give-up Todd into the forest. "Goodbye may seem forever" breaks my heart into fractured shards, and tears waterfall down my face. What I am trying to say is...I sincerely feel your pain🤗and I am so, very sorry for your loss, but trust me, they always leave paw-prints on our hearts forever, and they are patiently waiting for us to be reunited with them again🐾❤️
"Stitch: The Movie" is basically a pilot for the TV show. But it's still pretty fun.
I’d PERSONALLY love it if you gave the lilo and stitch cartoon a shot, but not 100% necessary. But the 2 movies connected to the series (STITCH! and Leroy and Stitch) do have a lot of fun craziness involved (let’s just say a LOT more aliens😉).
I love ❤️ Stitch Has a Glitch, great sequel. I even love ❤️ how great of a job Dakota Fanning did when she voiced Lilo, she was incredible.
You should look at the other two movies, they’re not as emotionally connecting as the Lilo and Stitch movies, but they will fill in what’s missing amongst your curiosities.
I remember watching this movie at my Grandma's and crying by myself when Stitch dies. I was so heartbroken.
I used to have this on vhs until it accidentally got ruined, it actually sets up the lilo and stitch tv series that used to be on the Disney Channel, it was a series about lilo and stitch finding all of the experiments that were created before him and helping them to find their good side and be useful on earth
7:55 Wait... I just remembered Dakota Fanning voiced Lilo in this movie - I was wondering why she sounds different. Pretty funny, considering she and the original VA, Daveigh Chase, were both in Studio Ghibli movies, respectively voicing Satsuki (the older sister) in _My Neighbor Totoro_ , and Chihiro/Sen in _Spirited Away_ .

Even rewatching it, Stitch's short death is still the saddest moment I've ever seen. Watching Jumba hold Stitch in his arms is enough to make me emotional

Experiments 001 to 625 were touched on in the animated television series, each one having unique designs and abilities to each other.
If you watch the other two, the movie "Stitch" is a prequel to the TV series. "Leroy and Stitch" is a finally to the TV series
More accurately, Stitch the Movie is like a pilot episode.
This isn’t really the second Lalo and stitch movie it’s kind of like an in-between movie
This movie was the third to come out but I would say second chronologically.
There’s plenty of Disney sequels I recommend you check out

-Chip n Dale: Rescue rangers
I know that last one isn’t a sequel, but it just came out to good reception so I do recommend it

Stitch the Movie is definitely worth a watch, anything after that would be up to you, but I loved it.

Oh man, when I first saw this Lilo and Stitch movie, I never expected that ending!
And by my whole life I thought that 'Leroy & Stitch' was the second movie.

I have never seen this movie before either and this is very good. It shows that friendship is a very important and a powerful thing and i love that about Leo and Stitch friendship.

What happened to 625, 624. Well let me introduce to the Lilo and Stitch series, where they find out what happened and help capture Jumbas previous experiments and help them be good like stich, and then help them have a job which they can specifically perform, for example it was an electric one or one that created light that had a job in a lighthouse, and another one that created was put to a haunted house and stuff. Fun and cool series worth a watch or review, they're short so it would be 2 episodes at least a video.

This is my favourite in the lilo and stitch series!
As a kid the first movie was always my favorite and I watched it over and over again until I got to the point where I could recite it by heart. I watched this one as a preteen and I didn't know Stitch was going to die...I ended up ugly crying in the bathroom after the movie so that I wouldn't be seen by my family. Did not watch it again until my late teens. Great movie but I couldn't watch it often because of my emotional attachment to the franchise.

Im honestly glad they made this sequel, after the end of the first one I immediately thought I would love to see how they all live as a family and whats going on there, so this was pretty dope :) ofc it cant be compared to the first one but its still a good enough sequel :) the story is nice, its fun, it gets you emotional, the only big problem with it is that Jumba doesnt tell everybody about Stitch's problem which is just a terrible decision and it makes no sense :D the other movies are like from the TV show, there aint much to them :P your buddy Nick watched Over the Hedge recently, you could give that one a shot too, its a great classic, a lot of fun, you would love it :)

Jumba actually made 625 other experiments, stich was just his 626th, jumba meant his 62nd experiment to be his personal chef but things took a wrong turn with that one
624 is Stitch’s Girlfriend and 625 is Ruben both show up in the TV Series
I can quite confidently say that this was the first ever movie to make me cry when I was the ripe old age of 6
27:13 I cried when, I first saw this movie. But, I thank Heaven for stitch to be alive at the end of the sequel at 27:33-27:43.
As Walt Disney sequels goes, Stitch has a Glitch is a worth watching over again. However, to add on the Disney sequel train, I'd recommend Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and Aladdin 3 and the King of Thieves. Return of Jafar I think is decent, but it's a pilot to a tv show as King of Thieves is the conclusion to the Aladdin franchise. So just throwing this out there as a suggestion.

If you want to know what happened to the other 625 experiments do check out the other two sequels, they are not quite emotional as the last two, but they're still pretty good if I remember correctly (first "Stitch! The Movie", which also acts as an introduction to the TV series they made and then "Leroy and Stitch")
It's a little vivid but I remember watching this movie at a Sears store when I was maybe seven or eight years old and I cried my eyes out at the ending. 😭😭❤❤

This movie reminds me of something in my life similar to Stitch's glitching.
I'm Epileptic, and seeing the glitches reminds me of seizures. (Bare with me here)
1) Seizures are uncontrollable and can happen at any time, like his glitching.
2) It's possible to die from an Epileptic seizure, like how Stitch dies in the end.
3) Stitch wasn't fully charged,, and seizures happen due to the electricity in the Brain.
4) At 9:26, Jumba says "Stitch is having another episode" which is another word for seizure.
I'm not the only one who thinks this.
If you've ever seen someone have a seizure or have had one, you'd get it.
Holy sh** I never thought of Stitch glitching as epileptic seizures.
I'm not epileptic, but that's an interesting way to look at it.
As a guy who loves this franchise since he was a kid the third and fourth movies are pretty good.
But to just give context ahead of time if you see this Tim- Stitch! The Movie(Third Film), is a set up for the show but you dont haft to watch the show for Leroy & Stitch(fourth film) to make sense. Trust me I know my stitch films-

I know I am late to the party. But if Stitch went to the realm of death, he would have broken the world record for his soul to cross the nine circles of Hell in the fastest time known to mankind, to be reunited with Lilo in the human realm.
Lilo and stitch as a francise is a very guilty pleasure. There's just something about it you can't dislike eventbo it has got problems. Tho the first film is good.

You should totally react to the Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie that just released. It’s so much fun to watch, it’s a bit similar to Space Jam 2 since it has multiple properties, except it’s genuinely funny to watch. You will have a great time watching it.
13:22-13:34 - One of the rare moments where Stitch shows true enrage anger. For most of the film, Stitch was trying to be innocent and good. But once Lilo started acting like a complete jerk, discard his good chart, and insulted him, that’s when Stitch loses his cool and growls at her angrily as he is rightfully outraged by her jerky attitude because what happened at the rehearsal was never his fault because he couldn’t control what happened.

I didn't even know this movie's existed until just now, and Lilo & Stitch was my favourite movie at the time. I was aware of the show, but not this. Not that I'm surprised, this is Disney.
