Main difference is you can get 100k above right after MBA(most probably easily) but in case of Canada even you are a top MBA graduate its really hard to get 100k salary even after maybe 5 years of experience. Simply said you cant earn alot of money in canada if thats your priority. But what Canada provide is Security as PR is easy.
Quality of Higher education like MBA is of the same quality in Canada & USA. Because of the close proximity of the nations & similar language/corporate culture. So it makes better sense to go where the tuition is cheaper which is Canada. Moreover after a certain point of time in the professional sphere it only matter what you bring to the table; not from where you got your education.
Both of you were highly frank, honest and transparent in sharing views and reviews. I really appreciate the way you both were open to accepting the facts. More power to you, Harnoor! ✔️👌🙏
If you are from one of the top 3 schools in Canada you would have exactly the same toolkit to harness as an American B schools. Job opportunities are also pretty similar be it MBB or Amazon (esp in Vancouver). The thing to note is that the Canadian economy is much smaller and opportunities are fewer so the competition for those spots is a lot higher.
At 4:55 I don't agree MBA has one year OPT or work permit, to provide more clarification, FYI you need to know one more fact i.e. Few Universities from 2017-2018 had started offering MBA program as STEM approved. If an university issues an I-20 with Major 1 as "Information Technology 11.0103" or "Business Statistics 52.1302" and Major 2 as "Business Administration and Management, General 52.0201" then it is a STEM approved and student who pursued masters will get 3 years of OPT ,instead if they offer I-20 with only major 1 i.e. "Business Administration and Management, General 52.0201"and major 2 blank which is not all considered as STEM approved. That is the logic behind it. Let me know if you need more information on this. Moreover, Student who pursues MBA as STEM approved program, has to complete 9 or 12 stem concentrated credit hours depending upon the university requirement
Very Informative, Must say, I have been preparing for CAT 2020 after dropping the idea of giving GRE and move to US for MS, I guess Canada can be on my list now.
I want to add that this range is only true for Corporate Finance roles. It is a misconception that you cannot make 150k or more without going to a director level. You can definitely make this kind of money getting into PE, Investment Banking, CRE, Tech consulting etc. Really depends on your Niche, so not true. For Investment Banking and PE they pay double your salary in bonus, so it may say base salary as $130,000 but really they are making around 200-250 at associate level all in. For the rest of the ones I've mentioned bonuses are at least 20%- 60% with 20% being the lowest bonus for being a new average employee. Starting Salary is around 65-70k meaning if you get a role as just an Analyst without much experience that is the range normally in Toronto. Biggest advice is don't work for big banks they actually do not pay the best. Go for other types of big company's if possible.
80 K Canadian dollars = 44 lakh rupees. MS in USA costs around 40 lakh rupees total.(tuition plus living) MBA in USA costs around 1.5 crore rupees tution fees. MS in Canada costs around 20 lakhs.
Ohh after watching this video I’m jealous on jivesh because I was so interested in going to Canada as an international student, but unfortunately due to some personal problem I had to come Europe in Copenhagen for my study. Jivesh is too clever and smart.
Canada doesn't have many amazing b schools honestly, rotman being the only one which I guess is ranked somewhat good.B school is worthless if you don't go to a big brand name b school,so choose wisely. In that aspect if you don't have the profile to get into top foreign b schools(Wharton, hbs, gsb, insead, lbs) writing cat is honestly a better option, considering they mainly focus on grades. And let's be honest,no offense, but this person was from amity, which pretty much eliminated any chances at the top b schools (they want high GPAs and the iit tag or bits pilani, and other highly selective colleges)
@Mustafa Mohammed University of Waterloo, University of Alberta, UBC, Simon Fraser University, Concordia University, Dalhousie University to name a few.
This guy has most of his facts correct. But he needs to rethink about how many people he knows who make $200k in Canada after 3 years of experience. Even Director level people here sometimes only make $170-200k and they have 15+ years of experience.
Thanks Bhai 👍 I have just passed the Engineering and wants to do an MBA. Of course after few years of experience. And I had decided to do it from either Canada or Australia, as the cost is very high in USA or in UK whatever it's ROI is, but I was hesitant for it. But after watching this video I got a very good clarity that doing MBA in Canada is more better than I expected. 👍👍
Hi Singh, great video. I've been searching for a video like this for a long time and I got a few good pointers but I couldn't understand a lot of what was being said because of the language barrier. I'm jamaican and only speak English, so if you could make a part two video in only English on the career prospects of an MBA in canada who wants to work as a product manager or other professional in the US
Hieee! Can u make a similar video on MHA in USA and canada? Job opportunities, security etc etc....this is coming from a medico..would be a real help thankyou! U are doing an amazing job👍
mba in canada is not a cakewalk . I have been living here for 10 years. average salary for rottman is 70k which is the normal salary for people with no mba(4-5 year experience) . Go for top uni in usa.
