Lowering Springs, Shocks and Struts Install | 99-04 New Edge Mustang

- This video covers (almost) everything you need to know in order to install your very own lowering springs in a 99-04 New Edge Ford Mustang! It might seem intimidating to you, but fortunately, you get to learn from this experience and watch someone else do it first. These are SR Linear springs that give you about a 1.5 inch drop. I purchased them from American Muscle. We also installed an ST Sport Shock and Strut Kit for a nice suspension upgrade!
NOTE: In the section where I discuss the use of spring compressors, there is a case to made that they could make it easier to get the springs in and out of the back, but you can probably pry them out without compressors.
If you want to see only the lowering springs installation in writing, check out the article I wrote for it: notacarguy.life/how-to-instal...

Definitely you need to disconnect the front tie rods to prevent a damage on the inner tie rod, and if you disconnect the rear quad shocks, you don’t need to compress the rear springs..
Yeah, you're probably right. I ended up getting a tie rod replaced. It would also make it a lot easier getting them in and out.
Dude can't thank you enough for making this video , just what I needed to see , fixen to do mine real soon , was wondering the process and you came through with a touch down , thanks so much , have a 03 Roush v6 and it needs this , this made my day from Clearwater , FLA , damn good show
Awesome! Glad it's going to be useful to you. Definitely look into getting the some camber plates to with the springs. Camber bolts are also cheaper option.
You guys rock the best I’ve seen so far
Love how you explained in detail; not really hard to install after I seen this video: big thanks to you guys🤙🏻💪🏻🔥
You're welcome! Yeah, wish I knew then what I know now. ;)
really like your stuff man. would like to see more!
Appreciate it! Thank you. I've got more in the pipeline.
Nice video 🔥🔥‼️
Thank you!
That’s a clean 04 👌
Thank you!
Good job
My car is in process at the moment due to weather. We're doing and whole new suspension with ball joints, upper and lower control arms... I can''t wait! Hoping to bring him to PITS in March!
Dang! That's gonna make a big difference. I've got some lower control arms for the rear that I'll be installing.
Good stuff
Thanks!
Doing mine in the am
Precious little jack
Did all this to my 05 mustang , a lot better now
It's surprising how much it affects the handling.
Damn I thought this was Adam Calhoun
Nice work, spring compressor is not needed for this job though…Quad shocks need to be detached in the rear and front control arms you can just kick down as far as you need..
Also use LMR for parts not American muscle, you’ll find that they are better in every way..Also I subbed to watch you finish this build…I also will be continuing my build in the spring..
Agreed. Detaching the quad shocks would give you plenty of room.
@@NewEdgeDesigns I do like LMR. CJ Pony Parts seems to be pretty good as well. AM is just cheap. Appreciate the sub!
New edge... do i need to add some camber caster plates?
Are u able to use your stock camber plates after using those lowering springs?
I was not able to use my stock camber plates. I had a pretty bad negative camber that the alignment shop couldn't correct without either caster/camber plates or camber bolts. I ended up going with Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates.
i fought the fuck out of my springs to get them out lol
Hi everyone
Got a question had mine in a shop just a bit ago and guy said mine needed some kind on pin before we could do a complete alignment , does any one know what kinda pin he's speaking of , just want to be ahead of the game before get taken or something , old am me but not stupid lol , thanks
He might be referring the camber bolts. Once you lower it, the stock bolts don't allow for enough adjustment to get the alignment right. Camber plates are an even better way to go. I have some Maximum Motor Sports plates in mine.
But yeah, I didn't know that when I did it and drove around with one wheel at about -4.5 degrees for a while.
How and where did you buy the 4 reports 🙏😢 i im form Honduras.
I bought everything for this project from American Muscle.
@@notacarguy_ muchas gracias bendiciones.
