Excellent video! Thanks for the time you put into this. I grew up in apple orchard country in North Georgia and orchards were prime hunting areas but cornfields that had been picked was also great. Most farmers would leave a few rows of corn in the middle of the field for deer. To me the biggest bucks preference was the corn, especially if a few pumpkins were left behind too.

This year the deer clobbered the pumpkin patch and Brussel sprouts and ate them down to the ground stems vines and all, groundhogs seemed to prefer the green beans and cleaned me out.. Next year I will have to go back to playing talk radio in a bucket and the laser fence with the electric flash bang that will keep them from sneaking in at night.. If you have a grain farmer in the area you can usually buy direct and get a 100 pounds of shelled corn for $10 as long as you bring your own containers/bags..
I've used both Apple Corn and Plain Corn and have had success with both. I've also used plain corn (50 lbs. bag), topped with 5 lbs. bags of Wild-Game Innovations Apple Crush (17% protein), Dirt Bag (Molasses, 17% protein), Pile Driver (Grains, 17% protein), Persimmons (17% protein), Acorn (17% protein), Sugar Beets (17% protein) etc. and they've all worked pretty well, basically in the order I listed! All are available at Wal-Mart! Point being, deer like corn, but adding a little bit of something else they also like on top of it (like icing on a cake), with a good protein content just helps them throughout the year! Try it, you'll be pleasantly surprised... And Happy you did!
I have tried corn for a few years. Seems like it causes them to come in at night. This year I planted 3 food plots about 15ft wide by 80ft long. Turnips, radishes, tube peas, in 2 plots. Rye grass only on 1 plot. I'm hoping by the time all the food sources die out the deer will start coming in more.
The deer on my place seem to like whatever I put out. So do the coons unfortunately. About to be a raccoon “removal” after this weekend. I’ll gentle capture them and place them in a nearby forested area so they can continue to r@pe and pillage someone else’s corn. 😂
I work at place that sells bulk corn when we have excess. Deer where I hunt love it, but the deer at a friend of mines house about 20 miles away wont touch it. We store it in silos for up to a year and there is a smell to it, but Ive always found it odd that deer in certain areas wont eat it, while it doesnt bother others in the least.
Thank you for put the time and effort into making this video. I've always wondered which one to buy. I throw a couple of apples with the corn and saw on my trail cam that a possum eats 1 of the apples.
I have tried almost everything over the years. For an attractant, I’ve had the best luck with plain corn with salt, brown sugar, and molasses as a topper mixed in.
We were surprised when we found it. Don't know how it's going to work. We are hunting in East Texas, not many apple trees around there. I'll let you know how it works out here

@@James-fl9bv The scent will carry for miles and that's what draws them in but I think they eat what they know and that is the plain.. You can make your own with a few rotten apples or a few cups of cider that went bad and turned to vinegar or just vinegar and mix a couple cups with a couple cups of feed mill molasses and mix this with plain corn or just spray it on the trees without corn and it will draw them in..
Rip ‘n Stick outdoors has done a couple of tests with various salt and mineral blocks and apples versus basically every other deer treat available in the store.
Seems that apple flavored corn is for catches more deer hunters there is always a way to make more money from hunters. I always use plain shelled corn in my feeder.
You have them too close together so that whole area smells like apple more than likely. I ran 2 feeder down different openings and my apple corn got hit hard by deer and hogs. Would have a stray or 2 at regular corn then They all would hit plain feeder after apple was cleaned out. 🤷🏼♂️
I used to think the same thing until I read an article by the national wildlife Turkey Federation that said turkeys do smell and find food that way, but not as good as a deer
Never understood how people see it as ok to keep an animal caged up and feed it to fatten it up before killing it for food , but these same people think feeding a wild animal to fatten it before killing it for food is wrong.

I know they like pumpkins too

I’m with you I provide minerals and vitamins year round for them 👍

The deer in my area heavily favor the apple corn... It's really interesting to see your experience with it
That’s interesting I think it’s a good idea for everyone to try so they know what their deer prefer

Lol the animals always mess with our camera angles too. 😂
Funny animals 🦌👍

I know the Deer eat the apples off my trees
I have tried almost everything over the years. For an attractant, I’ve had the best luck with plain corn with salt, brown sugar, and molasses as a topper mixed in.
Sounds delicious 👍
Those are smart deer, they can read.
lol it seemed like they could read
That last buck was wild looking!
That’s what I said when I saw him
I feel that a strong smell has a bit to do with drawing power . Thank You for promoting supplemental feeding . 👍
I think you’re right it smells good. Thanks for commenting 👍
Appreciate the demonstration.
Your welcome 👍
We found Apple 🍎 scented corn for $8 for a 50 lb bag. Picked up several bags and put I our feeders
That’s cheap corn 🌽 good luck this year 🦌🦃🐿️
We were surprised when we found it. Don't know how it's going to work. We are hunting in East Texas, not many apple trees around there. I'll let you know how it works out here

Apple flavored always works great for me
That’s good to know thanks 👍
You absolutely need to try mollasis covered corn
That’s a great idea. Thanks
omy, the old fopdplot "huntimg" method. always controversial but effective.
I agree 👍
MAKE DEER CORN HEALTHY AGAIN!
lol 😂 👍
have you ever tried apples vrs. corn? Or salt vrs. something?
Not yet but that’s a great idea 👍
Rip ‘n Stick outdoors has done a couple of tests with various salt and mineral blocks and apples versus basically every other deer treat available in the store.
Walmart apple corn is where it’s at!
👍
I always use apple corn and they tare it up.
That’s good to know thanks for commenting 👍
Tear
It’s like people, their tastes.
👍
Next time try plain oats vs. oat sweet feed
Great idea 👍
I've had hunting buddies swear by the apple. I've had no luck at all. Buck don't want to come into smells they don't know.
I agree with you the plan seems to be what the deer in my area prefer. 🦌👍
how does one explain deer coming into both apples and corn when an area typically has neither other than what one is putting out as bait?
Looks like you hit the rut time
There definitely was a lot of action 🦌😜

Plan corn seems to be there favorite flavor in my area 👍
bucks aparently have a thing for apples
I know weird right 😜

That’s interesting I know the apple corn has a strong Oder maybe that’s what attracts them?
Acorns
I think I found enough acorns to try a comparison 👍
turkeys can not smell so there is no diffrence to them i always said if turkeys could smell i would never hunt them
I used to think the same thing until I read an article by the national wildlife Turkey Federation that said turkeys do smell and find food that way, but not as good as a deer
Signs are way to big!!!!
Can't see the racoon
Can't the food on the ground
Content excellent
Technical stuff fair to ?
👍
You could have made your review in under 10 mins just saying
Where’s the fun in that 😜👍
Never understood how people see it as ok to keep an animal caged up and feed it to fatten it up before killing it for food , but these same people think feeding a wild animal to fatten it before killing it for food is wrong.
I see your point 👍
Nope I agree with both.
