Drawing on the spiritual philosophies and meditative practices of classical yoga, Vedanta, Buddhism, and Taoism, we will explain how fasting the mind directly impacts your habits and way of being in the world to create peace and calmness in your life as well as allow you to build a firm psychological defense against the increasing bombardment of distractions in our world.

I found how to do it, a short while ago, and I practice it now. What happened was, I was walking down the street early in the morning, stressing about so many things, and I noticed myself from inside, looking at this stessed out part that's inside my surface body and all freaked out about some things. So I said to myself inside, from my dan tien area, just below inside of the body at the belly button area, (that's where it feels like my Essence is at) and I said to myself, look at you, you're an Aries and a Snake and both of these aspects are only the surface part of you, of your personality, so shallow, you can't see past your own eyes, you can't hear any further than your little area, and you're allowing yourself to be ruled by flimsy personality, which you only gained from this material world. I said, stop and look deep inside, to the invisible self, to the peace, stillness, purity, to the absolute everything, which keeps you alive, here, and forget about all those things that worry you. So when I stepped out of my surface personality and its consuming worries, and I stepped deep into my body, it was like WOW. It was so beautiful. I started noticing all the nature around me as I walked, and the birds came and communicated with me, and little butterflies, everything changed, almost instantly. And I thought to myself that I want to 'ground' myself in this center, in my core being, and just stay there, because everything is so beautiful when I look out from there.
So that's what happened. And I've been practicing ever since, to stop what I'm doing, find my center of self, my core, and be there, and allow it to be.
But I have to say something else. Don't listen to my personal way of doing it, because I'm top heavy, I use my head too much, I even have wide shoulders and slim hips, so when I focus to my dan tien area, it's probably because that's where my perfect balance is. Maybe some other people have their perfect balance in their heart area, and others on top of their crown at the head, you know? Everyone is different. I'm just sharing my story, that's all.

Only now at age 54 am I expanding my spiritual experience, these podcasts are a great way to help me understand more about Eastern spirituality. There is one thing I know for sure and that is knowledge can only be equated to wisdom when that knowledge becomes or comes from your experience. One thing that I remember from one of Sadhguru's satsangs is this. He was answering a question about the practices he teaches and if it will make that person superhuman. I believe his response was "It's not going to make you superhuman, it's all about realising that being human is super."
Thank you both for these podcasts that really have re-ignited my spiritual practices.

Falling in love with simplicity - yes! so positive! One with reality. Yin rocks. Now leaving phone off for many days. Many yang people - communicating through media about individualistic, superficial bs. Stopped doing this crap. Also, christianity seems so yang and bs analytical mind "information" based - especially "doing" church (sit, stand, sing, listen to preacher, individualistic - all that b,s.). Great talk guys! Smiling now. Life! Bernardo.

I just ordered this book today after watching two of his videos. The most difficult part of spiritual work is when we start observing our own minds without providing any more fuel to it to burn. That is where the rubber hits the road. Unfortunately intellect cannot take us to that point where we are free of autonomous flow of thoughts and chatter. Not to resist these thoughts and developing a detachment is the most arduous process I think. Quite challenging and the most diffcult task a human can encounter.

I love these talks. So much wisdom which obviously comes from many years of practice and living. Two people who are passionate about real spiritual development. Thank you both. Myself I've been walking the spiritual path for over 20 years using a combination of Qigong, Daoism and Ch'an Buddhism. I've tried other disciplines such as Theravada, Sanatana Dharma and Sufism, but always gravitate back to Chinese ways. I guess the mindset of these practices is best suited to me. Lately I have become very disconnected from modern life. I find it to be at odds with cultivation in general. The more that humanity relies on technology and the rampant consumerism that it inevitably produces, the further it is from its true nature. It's becoming increasingly difficult to find genuine people in this age of compliance, brainwashing and the tyranny of oppressive governments.

I resonate with your comments a lot. Being authentic is almost impossible in the "fake it 'till you make it" environment that exists in the developing world. Going off the grid seems to be the only sustainable option to cultivate and channel our true essence into this existence (i.e. being in nature; living simply; ultimately, minimising unnecessary stress).

I really gonna try the be aware of the breath when I wake up. I usually think very uncomfortable thoughts when I wake up. It is not until I get breakfast my mind calms. But it sometimes makes impossible for me me to get enough sleep as my mind is racing. I think just my defense parts wake up before rest of my system. So I try to remember to breathing 🙄 Something to anchor down on and let the freak out, fight it self out. Just public note to myself. I thought it was simple but awesome tip

the bureaucratic system is designed by having heath insurances cover for Rx meds and very little with holistic ways of approaching health problems. There are more health insurances covering acupuncture and such but it is slow moving. And because of this we have to also be our own best doctors and therapists to our ownselves. that may mean shelling money out-of-pocket for these things alongside some sometimes much needed medicines for a few people (when many are probably overprescribed). It would be nice for example if health insurance paid for massages to help decrease stress. i think changes are coming and that too will be looked at since it stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system.

Great one Jason. I had to laugh when you brought up following out of control polititions. That has been the case since I was born. Time management also jumped out at me. If a person integrates spirtual and physical health in their life, life doesn't seem like work. Your breathing meditation is so important. Every negative thought had an immediate effect on health. Anyway, im not talking from having been on a pedestal, I was on the Hamster Wheel for many years. I simply tell people that I do not worry about things that are not in my power. Even my wife said "don't you care who is ellected"? I said no. Lol, but true. I have to remind friends and family that I cut the puppet strings. I guess they think I'm a weird Duck. Well, another good one Brother. P.s. i would like to srr you write your interpretation of the Tao Te Ching, complete with your suggestions of practicing each verse. Wayne Dyer did it and it was great. But, I would like to see it from your profound eastern perspective.

Weird ducks are always the most interesting brother. I love it John. Cutting the puppet strings is essential for spiritual growth. It is funny that you mentioned the Tao Te Ching because next month we will start 81 meditations on the Tao Te Ching, where once a month we will explore one verse and contemplate its meaning. Can't wait for you to absorb it.

This honest approach is so inspiring. I wonder if the two of you have any tips on how to maintain and safeguard the innocence. I try to live from the heart and try to recognize my own corruption. Your videos are very helpful in that process. If I don't ask too much: what are your insights on healing by distance? Or may be you discussed it already. Thanks for the video.

At 57 minutes you talk about living too rationally and it reminds me of the first commandment in the Bible. Not the first of the ten commandments, but the real first commandment that comes in Genesis 2. Don't eat of the tree of knowledge as it leads to death; so eat of the tree of life. Stay connected to what is alive and vital and moving.

The “MIND” as referenced must be identified as “Analytical & Reasoning Thoughts”, not “MIND” from the psychological sense; because if we were to cease all MIND functioning, then we would be coldly unconscious (aka dead to the physical body), & onto life in the next dimension.

it wont even take 200 years....we r all the center of our own universes, very focused on self, but wrong self......what if we r supposed to be the center of our own universes, in the sense that wehv each been commisioned to put ourselves as first because we each seperately r housing Almighty, and in caring for "melissa" b4 all else, not selfishly tho but as caretaker of melissa.... not letting her get wrapped up in caring what others think of her, or lettnig her serve others needs b4 caring for her own bc they are not pure motives anyway, theres something being sought after when "melissa" does that ,, when she nurtures herself first, as commisioned to b the center of her universe, thats how she can best serve mankind....and i let her understand that everyone has a commision to keep whoever they were given at the center of their universe, only worrying about that body...and accepting also mercurys view from the center of its universe cannot have the view jupiter has as the center of its universe ...ad isnt supposed ...mercury does best to stay the center of its universe flowing in its own rotations and revolutions, and an entire solar system stays on track...and entire solar system goes off track when isnt focused only on its great commision to stay the center of its universe, therefore allowing each of the planets to remain the center of their universe....theirs no selfishness in tending to what we each were put here to do, its selfish to step outside of ...jupiters view is the view jupiter was made to have of course i cant get with it only jupiter can , no one can truly get w the perspective seen from the center of mercurys universe bc only mercury ever can .. mercury isnt supposed see the galaxy like jupiter does, neither is wrong....theirs one job life gives, thats it, BE JASON or BE ROB , or whoever and and to just let that own perso n BE, and not BE DONE by an ego self , and keep it the one focus , balancing the universe might be less painful for humanity...its alwys thought that being fcused on oneself and nurturing oneself before any other is sellfish, but on the contrary , this life has put a single thing in my total care to mind here in this life an d when those rotations and reolutions arent the main focus, an entire universe feels the pain and are thrown out of whack... and when love of oneself and the nurturing of onesellf is the main objective, then the energy surrounding is one of love that cant help but overflow, affecting mankind and thats our great service then to one another and the best of urselves to give ... how is that selfish..its giving freely wiythout motive bc its really for oneself first... this isnt wildly popular of an idea..its like if someone says IAM God, its not the common perspective so its judged as ridiculous and i think you said arrogant once, and its seen that way...i cant let "Melissa" be concerned w that tho, i gotta reel her bac in, thats not to b her concern
