@@Salvag3Yes! I was waiting for somebody to say notice that. Difference beetwen light and shadow(dark) is like any other stealth video game. Actually Fisher turns Ninja parkour psycho killer after Double agent. The stealth mechanics from Chaos Theory for example are all gone and are replaced with this , which on its own a good game mechanic but not for Splinter Cell and stealth games in general. So for me this has terrible stealth mechanics and its so bright you do not need night vision at all , like at 3:49. Does not feel like a SC game at all and Fisher seems off :).
This game is amazing. I honestly don’t understand how this didn’t get more praise at the time. Even the co-op missions were fun and really encouraged stealth from both players.
This game is a classic alot people fail to realize a game is completely different when you're a adult than when you were younger you tend to see things that you didn't notice as a child or teen.

So true, I've been replaying a bunch of my childhood games and enjoying so many details I never noticed before, such as the amazing campaign of SC: Chaos Theory
Looking back at this games mechanics I would say they really stepped back on stealth. I would say it was a good Idea, unlocking the Predatory mind in people is both difficult and dangerous. This game is essentially a stealth shooter, remove the shooter part and many would not play it. Stealth requires patience, and shooter games teach the Opposite. Only around 1/4 of players who play shooters understand stealth and even less of them practice it.

I've been trying to play this game since it came out, I always end up getting bored around the middle point but apart from that really solid stealth sim. Would rather MGSV though.
The last time I played it I saw it as outdated but that happens with time & the stealth mechanics were great. Even if not like the og splinter cells I absolutely loved it & it’s a shame they never made a new one after blacklist. That game will always have a place in my heart.

It does sort of suck how Conviction-influenced this game was too. Mind you, I'm saying this as someone who has a soft spot for SC Conviction, I get why fans of the series really feel the series got a bit watered down with both Blacklist and Conviction. (Side note: do hope the multiplayer servers for this game on PC will still be up from the fans though, the multiplayer was always a great part of the series, even in Blacklist)
So, in the newest Splinter Cell novel "Firewall", Sarah actually trains under her dad to become a new Agent (he didn't know it was her at first, and boy did he get pissed when he found out Grimm pulled a fast one), so whenever they retire Sam as a character, we're more than likely going to be playing as Sarah... and I'm okay with that. She's actually a badass in the book.
Remember liking this game. I beat it and was impressed that they touched upon the 'Fifth Freedom' aspect where Vic has to murder either a general or a senator, I forget which, to prevent him from giving launch codes under torture.
Literally the best Splinter Cell game since the very first one. - Apart from maintaining all the moves and all abilities; they worked in a fairly accurate representation of the culmination of all Sam's experiences, in a multi-skillset system. - But the best addition Jade Raymond added to Blacklist was turning a stealth-adventure game, into a stealth-adventure / thriller. Thoroughly enjoyable game. 👍

I recently replayed Metal Gear: Rising Revengeance. I really would like to see you play it and hear your opinion. The game is so much fun, and the soundtracks are on another level.
Blacklist is best with self imposed restriction. As you demonstrated, you can just go through the game gun blazing, but the game is a lot more satisfying going full ghost (non lethal) or panther (lethal) but stealth, none of that assault strat. I would usually reload if detected.
I wouldn't call that "self-imposed." The game does have a system of scoring the ghost & panther playstyles. Self-imposed is something like only using the wrench in Ratchet & Clank.
Blacklist is definately one of my favourites from the Splinter Cell franchise. Certainly not the best game in the series (Chaos Theory is king) BUT the gunplay, stealth mechanics, the ability to have multiple loadouts on weapons and choose essentially your own playstyle for every single mission (whether to go stealth or guns-blazing) is really good. I never got to complete the co-op missions sadly. That being said, this game was solid for its time. Only thing is, it doesn't make much sense for Sam Fisher to be able to do what he does in the timeline (in the original Splinter Cell he's supposed to be 45 years old). He's pretty much an senior at this point in the story and yet he's still able to jump around and do stunts that most people could only dream to do at his age XD. Nitpicking aside, Splinter Cell Blacklist is really fun.
I literally just ordered a new PS3 controller yesterday to reconnect my old PS3 so I can replay this game! Hahahah I still don't understand why they haven't done a current gen patch or remaster to this game! Or why Ubisoft refuses to release it on PSNow so it can be played on the PS5. Imagine not playing on Perfectionist and going Ghost.
No fucking way this game did the last known location silhouette thing before Unity. I really thought they had stole that from Shadow of Mordor!
I love this game played so many hours it's the only reason I kept my ps3 wish there remaster it for next gen
I've never enjoyed watching someone fail so hard at stealth.....talking about Ubisoft obviously 🤣
Best co op game I ever got to play
I literally just ordered a new PS3 controller yesterday to reconnect my old PS3 so I can replay this game! Hahahah I still don't understand why they haven't done a current gen patch or remaster to this game! Or why Ubisoft refuses to release it on PSNow so it can be played on the PS5. They got EVERY DAMN Assassins Creed game ever made on PSnow, both Divisions, both Ghost Recon Wildlands & Breakpoint, R6 Siege and Outbreak but NONE of the Splinter Cells! Pisses me off! This game was fantastic...
This was such a good game but they really should’ve gotten Michael Ironside back.
Remake? Finally!
I have never played this franchise looks cool
If the remake is legit I might grab it
I've been playing the splinter cell series on my phone and I obviously can't go past the ps2 ones so I got like 5 of them and I am on number 3. The first one was an absolute masterpiece and I feel like the second which is pandora tommorow was kinda boring
This game is a really fun game but it isn’t a Splinter Cell game to me.
my 2018 memories after far cry 3 the game i finished and had best stealth experience that time❤❤❤❤
Really love these stealth type games
I heard they are changing the plot
How bad can it be
we will see
I actually never played this one. It's one of like 2 I missed
Given the fact that it was released COMPLETE without a bs paywall and a fully functioning campaign and multi-player with play-to-earn progression. Yeah it was a good game.
You shoukd try playing some of the metal gear solid games !
There making a new Splinter Cell where did you hear this?
chaos theory is still better. blacklist is pretty good. but chaos theory is epic.
@@QuantumProtocol blacklist came out in 2013 wdym 2023
I honestly thought blacklist was a fantastic game. The stealth was on point maybe even better than chaos theory. Glad your playing it Jay.
Yes, this game is great! Love it! Also, the co-op missions are pretty cool.
You should try out playing chao theory
Is wish there was a crossover with Snake
Facts. it holds up even by today's standards. Great looking game and the stealth is fun.
