Dear ones, out there, please know these warm up exercises really, really work! I have severe osteoarthritis and after a little while working, especially when shopping, the pain in my knees increased and l had to walk slower and slower, stiff as a rod. Sometimes l even shortened my morning walks, but now, after my first warm up exercises, as above, it was a joy to go walking this morning! It was as if my knees have been oiled with warm oil and l just strolled along; even after coming back and walking in the house the workout still continued. Thank you, dear Will Harlow, for putting this here for us oldies (me am 74 🙂) and you are truly a hero to us! Take care😊 all and do these warm ups, it's worth all the effort! ❤🚶💚!!
As a senior lady I find you videos very valuable for keeping me moving. The different angles and detailed instructions are very helpful. Thank you always!
Thanks for this. Walked around Rochdale yesterday and my right knee is stiff today. I’ll know to correctly warm up now. Your ‘hole in the sock’ info was shocking but I powered through it. 😂
Hey, Will. No judgement for having a hole in your sock - shows that you’ve been working while walking/exercising/teaching, and that’s a good thing for you and for us. Also I don’t trust people who always have perfect new, bright white socks/trainers or clothes - it shows they are obsessed with how they look, and that means they have no time to consider other people! And shows they don’t walk anywhere 😂😂😂 They’ll be using your videos when they’re old and stiff from not exercising, that’s for sure! Also we should all be wearing our clothes till they are full of holes, for the sake of the planet. If I lived near you, I’d be offering to darn your socks - I like hand darning but it’s a dying art 😂😂😂 Anyway, as always, I’m very grateful for your wonderful, helpful videos - I have difficult health conditions and your suggestions and reminders, delivered in a simple straightforward way, have enormous impact. Thank you ❤
I learn something new every time I watch. Also, my copy of the book is in the mail. Thank you for making taking care of myself a warm and professional education and not a over-the-top cavalcade of click bait excitement :)
Thank you, Will. I never quite know what exercises are good for walking warm-ups. This is brilliant. And about your book, I'd love to purchase one, but is it crossing a line if I said I'd like a signed copy? Have you, or can you do that, or have you thought of that? I don't know if there are any other viewers who may read this or watch you. I think they might like a signed copy of your book. Maybe they can comment and add to the list. I will say this. As someone who is now in their 50s and experiences different aches and pains compared to ten years ago, this makes a huge difference. Especially from someone who is not in that age range and can help bring the correct range of motion and movement back properly. Anybody should give Will a watch. He's amazing.
Thank you Will! I look forward to your instructional video every morning. I will be trying this today. Love that you make these exercises simple and quick 🙏
This is what I need! Must remember to warm up before walking. Thanks, Will. I usually feel weakness in my knees after half an hour. Shorter time if there is something I have to carry a distance.
Wow! So thankful for this video because after my walk yesterday, I was feeling pain in my lower back area. I will definitely make this my routine before I go on my 2 mile walks. Thank you.
I tried this today and walked 3 1/2 miles without pain. I usually have knee, hip or muscle cramps on a walk of this length. Having such a short simple warmup is easy to add to my regular routine. THANKS!
@@HT-Physio After using this warmup before walking for several weeks now I can say for sure it was not just a one-off, this really works well allows me to walk daily without pain.
Thanks for this, as always, Will 🙏🏻 In the last exercise here, you say lift the knee up, then ‘out’, though the 2nd part appears to be ‘back’ behind you, not ‘out’ to the side. Is it both?
Your exercises and demonstrations are so good Will. Have you any advice on extensor tendonitis on the top of the foot. Hope I’m not asking for something you’ve already covered…I’ve scrolled down but can’t see anything.
Thank you very much for all of your Great Videos, I Really Appreciate it. Your videos Are Helping me A Lot.... I watch you every day. You are Wonderful. I wish you the best Fom California
Hello Dr Will, I keep on watching your this channel. Very much appreciated. I am 60 had ankle ligament tear in august 2023. Had wear cast shoe for 1 and half months. But still have pain which exercise I should do. I will great full for your suggestion and help.
My pain when walking is from my tendons not my muscles. This is been my major problem since I was 50 Now I’m 86 and I still have pain from walking and now I have trigger fingers all kinds of tendon problems
Give a tip, please, how to buy your book without using Amazon, which i've sworn to never use, after I became aware what a lousy empoyer the company is = lousy meaning: can't live up to Labor Union standards in Sweden. Sometimes when you are out running or walking, please figure out another concept! 🙂 You could also ask Lucy Wyndham-Reed, she might have some good tips! Thanks for all your advice for us 50+ and more!
I will take advantage of these simple exercises. For most of my life, I have enjoyed walking, but as of this past year, it has become challenging to get going in the morning. 🌞🌧❄️ 🚶♂️🚶♀️
up to 6 years ago, I'd walk, hike, anything for hours. One incident, haven't been able to heal enough to go one block. I exercise every day. weight, stretch, tai chi. It's sad.
You might want to see a neurologist under those circumstances, or at least, your GP. But, if your diet is less than encompassing, you may want to try A PORTION (¼ or ⅓) of a “Balanced B-100 Complex”, about 20 - 30 mins., before you have to stand for any length of time. I don’t get shaky nearly so often as when my D3 levels were in the tank (took me a bit, but they’re now where they need to be), but occasionally I still do, and it’s usually when I’ve been working full out on yard chores or scrubbing my floors by hand. Get yourself checked out, Kid. Sometimes the “fix” is simple, but, either way, DON’T wait!!

I'll do all these, hopefully it helps the start of walk, seems like the first 15 minutes of walk is when pain is worst.

It's not so much the pain with me, it's the shaking tremors I get when I've been standing for a while.
