Have you considered the shower tents? They fold up to the size of a large laptop, and they spring open No assembly required. They ate wide enough on the bottom to fit a wheelchair. Just a thought. God bless you. Love your UA-cam channel.
I have looked at some UA-cam videos on them. it looks like they are very akward to put away. Not sure I could manage it. They don't always fold up as advertised.
Love hearing your thoughts on this. My husband has our van almost ready. I'm 69, and really looking forward to some travel. Love the outdoors .also.just do what you have to to keep yourself mentally healthy.🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing. God bless your journey. I'm slowly doing a nobuild build on my 2004 SUV. I too want to get our in nature and study my bible by a different body of water every few days. That sounds lovely!!
I myself have thought about buying a used shuttle bus. Less than 15 seats to avoid a CDL license. It would then have a wheelchair ramp. Would be bigger than our minivan. I've also looked at toy haulers and/or cargo trailers.
Everything possible should be done to accommodate your basic needs in your home. In businesses it’s the law even if they don’t always comply. In your home you share with your sister it should go without saying. Please keep your home base available for your use. You can still travel all you want, when you want. When it’s time for a reset, maybe once a month, use your home base or 2-3 nights in a hotel, to revive yourself. Make it a part of your routine, schedule it in. It doesn’t take away from you being a nomad. It just means you are a sensible nomad. Most importantly, maintain the home base. We are at that age when health issues spring up out of nowhere. If we have no home base that means a nursing home for us. Two total knee replacements sprang up out of nowhere for me this year. Even with a home I am struggling hard after the first one was done this month. I own a single family home but the bathroom and bedrooms are upstairs. Make sure everything you need is on the 1st floor!! Do not negotiate that with anyone!! Your independence, now and in the future depends upon it! I so admire your bravery anchored in common sense. Thank you for sharing your life. 😊
Thanks for sharing. Taking a break every 2 weeks for a couple days would be a good compromise I think, until you get it all sorted out. I’ve now been on the road for 5 weeks now!
Solution for keeping your van: mini cargo trailer like here: ua-cam.com/video/S46ZcMV8Nd8/v-deo.html you could tow the cargo trailer like she does in the link I just gave you - it comes, usually, with a ramp like a toy-hauler. Make sure you do have a small bedroom in the house level that you and your sister will share. Seems/sounds as if you're overly gracious at your expense - stop that! Have fun as you modify your journey...
You are the second person today that has suggested that. It is something to think about. The main problem for me is that I am not sure I could manage hooking it up and unhooking it.
I hope you can find the balance between your physical and emotional needs in a vehicle. It definitely is cramped from the videos I can see that. If you watch “Sharing the Wild” you can see a minivan that has built in storage that maximizes the room available some of his storage is underneath the floor which may or may not be able to be done in your van. I was wondering if you could have someone help you make something similar? I’m sure cost is a concern, he did his himself but it’s very effective and efficient. He has a UA-cam channel and is in Canada.
Yes I am subscribed to his channel. I dont want to do a permanent build in my van but I am considering having something portable built for me that will be more functional.
Hi Laura. Thanks for the comment. I do have a video i posted about four months ago. The thumbnail picture says 'its stuck' and the title is ''getting my chair in and out of the vehicle'. Have a look and if I did not answer your questions there let me know. Sorry, dont know how to do links for you yet.

it is pretty amazing to be able to enjoy God while in His creation!

Thanks. All good comments. It is important to me to keep a home base for many of your reasons.

I love your honesty and really would like to know more about how you get in and out of your vehicle and how you manage the terrain!
