The Kippers were delicious, the best and most flavoured kippers I have ever tasted and I would recommend you to try them.😋

Mickle Carr and Muckle Carr are the two natural rocks just off the harbour.I first holidayed in 1952 as a 5 year old and every year after for over a decade. In. those days tin the harbour. There were about 4 cobles, fishing boats, and the highlight of the holiday was getting up early 4 or 5 am and going down to the harbour to go out on a coble while they went to sea to pick up their crab pots, replenish them with fresh bait , extract the crabs and put them back in the sea for tomorrows catch. Bartie Dawson, Billie Smailes, Black Eric Archbold were the "captains" of the Cobles that I can recall. Edward Grey had the Postoffice.. Happy sunny summers, walks along the. Heugh to Colour Nose point and Earl Howes bathing hut. I recollect that on that route was the remnants of a WW1 German Submarine, long since disappeared. Walking in. the other direction towards Dunstanburgh Castle is lovely walk, containing a natural swimming pool in the rocks and lots of pools to investigate. Craster is a wonderful place, Thank you for rekindling memories for me! Oh I think that the stone from the quarry, now a car park, was shipped to the Wear where it was used to build Roker Pier? Ineed to check this fact.

Craster Kippers are far more tasty than any others!
Why was there a car parked in front of the lifeboat? That seems odd
    🤔
