Cool man!! I did restore 3 of these here in Norway this winter! Will outperform most of todays 50cc saws. No joke, take it from someone who has cut professionaly since the age of 16..

hay brennan. how much would you gain by hogging out those missing case transfers in the cylinder shue ? thats the strangest thing ive seen on a bottom cyl. just opened mine and i didnt understand what that was all about.
so i have been googled this saw and i found you. i wanted to hog it out but i was alittle unsure if it would create some problems for me

@@softiss it's not something I'd recommend but plenty of guys still do it and get decent results.

you wouldent recomend because of the risk of ruining or becaus it creates to much air to the top , or maybe becaus it looses some support for cylinder?
gives me a ich having those empy voids in the case just there for no reason.

@@softiss there's nothing to gain there in my opinion. The case feeds are there for the open port cylinders.

i see, just smouthing out the transfer port would help the flow.
Even tho it bothers me that there are these closed airpockets under the sylinder skirts it wont excuse the labour of making those Open port channels.
I was thinking of just making a small finger grove down to make the pockets air up trough the transfer ports tho.
You made som sick fingers in youre cylinder. that was some craftsmanship.

@@brennancass3747 It was very similar looking. I did buy another 5000plus yesterday. I love those saws. They are very known here in Norway too. Such a cool project you are doing and thank you for taking the time to document it!!

@@lassila3 he has done a poulan pro 445 and just had a poulan pro 415 on there. Those would be all yellow in Europe and sold under the partner name. I'm getting close to being done with it so I'll have another vid or two on it.

@@brennancass3747 I always thought they were Parter designed saws assembled and built in Sweden but now that you say it they look more like a Poulan than something Partner would have constructed...

@@lassila3 they are swedish built partner saws with a different color scheme and badging. They sold that chassis in the US under poulan pro and jonsered, and Europe and other markets got the yellow partner badged ones. I've been hunting a partner one for awhile and they just don't come up often. I have a poulan 475&415, neat saws.
