Still will wait until more people have it to check out the main event, the battle royale multiplayer mode. The price really hinges on that also being great, even if the classic and Neo version are at least nice
@@NindieSpotlight I don’t have nintendo plus, or whatever it’s called… I also wanted to try that tetris battle royal. But I think I pay enough already for netflix and so on…

@@reeanimationgaming1034 Yeah, I have the family online plan so my daughters can share my voluminous library but there's never been quite enough to get me to spring for the extra packs
@@NindieSpotlight I don’t have ps+ or gamepass either. I simply don’t have the time to play game as I used to.. I really want to play the new gotham knights, but I know I will only play it a few hours and then never come back to it again 😔 It has happened too many times now.
So I spend my time making my own game instead 😁
Along with the OG Super Mario Bros. (discovered as an arcade cabinet in South Lake Tahoe in the late 80’s), Arkanoid is my ultimate favorite game. It is WAY better than the original breakout because of the storyline and power up capsules. Also having that creepy Doh Boss to fight at the end is a DEAL MAKER for me.
NEEDS SPINNER control. No spinner. No buy, no matter how fun and good the presentation is. hmph.

Not sure, and I'd agree. What should be driving up the value is the multiplayer Battle Royale style mode, but since it isn't in full release yet I haven't been able to check it out, that's why I specified this is only the single-player modes. When I'm able to play the multiplayer one I'll post video for that before reviewing.
@@NindieSpotlight tks but perso im not inter by the multi mode. Sometimes why not. But the core for me is the main mode solo mode. If we have 100 level with réal news i pick the game. If not, i pass
Recommended? I want to play online, reminds me block breaker deluxe from Gameloft.
Can't say just yet and the review will really hang on having a chance to play the Eternal Battle mode which is the feature (but since it is pre-release I couldn't find the load of people to play it with). I'm hoping this is multi-platform to help it have any chances, but it's a real question mark. The classic game and the Neo version are nice and authentic (tough), and I am happy that for controls they used the analog stick effectively since almost everyone else goes with pretty awful digital controls. The pedigree and general quality are there, but the price tag really demands that this Arkanoid Battle Royale mode works.
I honestly hope Eternal battle mode has AI Opponents. or at least the duel mode does. I don't trust human players. PLUS the DS game had AI opponents

The game crashed 4 times in a row on Eternal battle mode on Switch. Can't play the game more than 2 minutes.......Bad! Not cool!
@@martindion4846 Yep, I had the same experience, with video going up tomorrow. For context I played in 3 matches and the video is a mere 6 minutes. Crash city.

How hard is this to play in handheld mode?
Since my joycon are a drifting mess I can't comment on it in handheld myself
Honestly, every single one of these brick breaker games is ruined for me since playing Breakout Recharged on the Atari VCS, specifically with the Atari classic controller. It has a rotary stick and it works fantastically for brick breakers. I can't bring myself to use thumbsticks/d pads anymore.
To its credit this at least has analog control with the joystick, even if it's not as ideal as a spinner or something else that's a bit more direct in its implementation of control. Really beats the frustration of digital controls at least though.
I'm more used to playing brick breakers with a mouse. That's how I grew up playing them starting with Blasterball Wild for Windows.
@@NindieSpotlight Does this game support motion control at all? I feel like gyro input would work great for this game.
@@GigaMan91 You can alter the sensitivity of the analog controls with 5 levels (default to level 3), but there's no support for things like gyro controls. Honestly, having played quite a number of games that use the gyro or worse the positional aiming they're a decent enough supplemental form of control for things like shooters but relying on them exclusively is usually pretty miserable since it doesn't take long/much for them to get a bit out of whack in terms of what's center.
@@GigaMan91 Mouse and trackball are solid choices, I definitely prefer fully retro with the spinner dial... just you need it to have a little weight, not a cheap plastic ball. Something metal with a little heft.
