This is just perfection. The orchestra's is playing exquisite and Jaarvi's sense and command of both tempi and sound quality does this music the greatest justice - it sounds fresher and more remarkable than ever
Never heard a piece that sounded so much like the embodiment of past reflection and nostalgia. Ex-lovers and the adventures you shared, the innocent summers of childhood. A tinge of sadness and regret but also a strong feeling of fondness, all within the first minute.
I did the same, some 10mins after my mum passed. That was 30yrs ago. Tears sometimes appear when I hear this which they did on this occasion. God's blessings to you.
I am new to classic music but after finishing hearing the Proms 2012 Beethoven symphonies with Daniel Barenboim and reading comments and seeing him conduct without sheet music I was totally impressed
Uh... I have a question. Can anyone offer a reasonable explanation for why a conductor of his caliber and experience is working from a score, and indeed is turning pages...? Beethoven's 5th... Is this just for the cameras? Is this a formality? I'm all ears. Coach
Are you saying it was interpreted as if it was a Mozart piece, and that a Beethoven piece should not have been interpreted like this? Just trying to understand
Frigging camera man cut out the Cello and Viola solo's at the very beginning. Why so much attention to the Conductor, he's just a guy holding a stick. The Orchestra knows the Tempo, notice they don't look up.
@@DWClassicalMusic I am personally noob when it comes to classical music but I for one find Karajan's to be much more evocative. Järvi is a genius no doubt about that and some of the detours/changes he takes from the original are fantastic and fun to listen to but Karajan's remains a classic Translated from Google Translate *Übersetzt aus Google Translate. Everybody focuses on the first movement when the second movement is as enjoyable too, if not more.

Thanks for sharing these impressions.
This conductor clearly knows the piece by heart.i dont know of any conductor who could get away with that much enthusiasm in the first few measures.
Then maybe sometimes watch Rozhdestvensky conduct...
@@BytomGirl yes I will watch that one conductor. I'm sure he is truly ingenious, unlike the other conductor an other person crudely wrote.
0:16 that stylistic license or marked on score?
@@jaybonn5973 He is funny, has amazing sense of humor, I love watching him conduct.
The real credit goes to the musicians❤
The second movement is so amazing!

This part makes me cry since my childhood...the older, the better I understand why, but remains quit incomprehensible

Leider kein Vergleich zu den Berliner Philharmonikern unter Karajan.
Was gefällt Ihnen am Dirigat Karajans besser?
