a hanger extender works fine, or you could swap the Claris derailleur for the Shimano Acera RD-M3020, which is the 8-speed derailleur that would natively work with that cassette, and is also (unofficially) compatible with the Claris shifters.
Cool, I'm restauring an old 8speed MTB atm. Now I need to find out, if my derailleur will work with the 40 teeth. Then I'll have to watch your video on that orange bike. Does it come with all the little trays on the wall?
Kept on meaning to message yourself regarding cable outer. One of your past videos it was to short. Anyway I'm not sure if you know that jagwire do a joint piece for brake & cable outer rather than having to renew entire outer. Cheers Craig
While I appreciate the energy and engagement in the recent presentation style changes, I find that the pronounced hand-waving and pointing gestures can sometimes feel a bit distracting for me personally. I think a more subtle approach might help maintain focus on the content itself, allowing the key points to shine through even more effectively.
I agree, all bikes have their place and as a cyclist, I don’t mind having more than one type of bike for off road excursions. I’ve always loved my mountain bikes, and still ride my Hardtail and full suspension for certain rides. But in my personal preference I find mountain bikes just a little laborious for day long rides on milder trails…..

Yes that’s a great shout and another option!
At least the 8 speed cassette allows enough space between the sprockets for all that mud 🤣🤣. Cheers.
Good point!! 🤣🤣🤣 I’ll mention it in another video 😁😁
That was one muddy ride, love Genesis bikes.
Certainly was a mud-fest mate! We all know how much you love Genesis bikes - you’ve own one of each by now 🤣🤣
Looking at getting one of these not sure wether to go 1 x or 2 x version hmm 😊 Pete 👍🚴🏻
Hey Pete, I’d go for the 2x Claris and upgrade, especially if you’re doing mixed terrain, but im sure the 1x is good too
@ thanks dude I went for the CDF 20 in the end 👍🚴🏻😃 Pete
@n22pdf nice one! Let me know what you think!!!

Sounds cool - most long cage derailleurs will handle a 40t I find, without much issue!
As for the orange bike, orange wall trays sold separately 😎😁
Your Brakes sound like mad Turkeys 🦃 😂
Absolutely like a flock of em! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What kind of mudguards you have? They look very good on this bike.
Yeah man! They’re Ass Savers - the back one is the Win Wing, my go-to guards these days

Thanks for this Craig, I’ve not seen those, I’ve often used an inline adjuster for similar duties though, I’ll have to check them out

Hey I appreciate what you’re saying and I’m still finding my feet and trying things out on my videos - seeing how much of myself I can be! 😎
So called gravel bikes are a waste of money in the first place if you’re going off road get a mountain bike far more suited
You’re like a one man anti gravel campaign 🤣🤣
Just so wrong. All bikes have there place. It's also personal preference - I suppose you are expressing your preference 😂

Gravel bikes can handle a bit of mud 😂😂😂😂
And the full Sus folks call hard tails a waste of money and the ebmtn crowd say that acoustic bikes are a waste of money so on and on and on.
