Red Dead Restoration & Alexander Shorokhoff - Merry Christmas - AS Sixtythree Sellita SW300 Rebuild

- This time I´m rebuilding the "Alexander Shorokhoff Sixtythree" automatic watch. This german automatic watch is powered by the Sellita SW300 movement. The rotor of the movement is hand-engraved in Alzenau/Germany and can be seen through the case-back. It features a second-stop and a date-indication at 6 o´clock.

Ah nice, Alzenau. Memories of old times. I went to school in Hanau, which is close by. One of my school friends lived in Alzenau and we went there frequently to hang out.

A unique and noble vintage watch. The model “Sixtythree” with its cylindrical sapphire glass is inspired by the flat watches of the sixties. This design was very popular at the time, and defines the image that we have from this revolutionary decade. Our aim was to carry the spirit and tradition of the past into a new Alexander Shorokhoff design.
The stainless steel case is completed by a cylindrical sapphire glass which is difficult to manufacture. The watch is water resistance up to 5 atm. Like the models from the sixties the curved dial of the 63-models is available in dark blue, emerald green, bordeaux red or deep black. The rose gold plated indexes 20, 40 and 60 are masterpiece of precision due to the fact that they have to compensate the curved dial. The fine appearance is worth the effort and the curved glass makes the watch look bigger than it actually is. This effect makes the watch popular for both men and women. The rotor of the Swiss movement 2892.AS is customized as you would expect from an Alexander Shorokhoff.

Things that amaze me as I watch your work; the size of these parts, the delicate movements required to assemble them, the tiny quantities of lubricant you apply and the level of control required to prevent it getting everywhere, the cleanliness of the workstation and tools and the fact that I find myself holding my breath while watching, do you hold your breath while doing it ?
The only thing I dislike is the music, I think I would prefer to hear the ticking of the watch amplified.
Mucking about some with watches myself. I think it's best to go against your instincts and learn to breathe while working. If you don't breathe the tension builds fast. And the tension accumulates as the time ticks by. It's like target shooting and learning to fire while exhaling steadily. Your movements are easily predicted, you don't add tension to yourself.
Watching Red Dead Restoration is way awesome than Netflix.

When I received a new piece with the same movement a year or so back, it had something wrong with it where the date wheel wouldn't rotate automatically. I sent it in for repair after a few months (as I figured the problem might resolve itself after a bit of use, but unfortunately it didn't) and they resolved the problem, however, they left all of the dust that accumulated during the repair on the dial and on the underside of the sapphire... So now, my U50-T always has these dust specs all over the place that drive me a little crazy.
On the bright side, it has made me want to get into watch restoration so that I can care for the pieces in my collection on my own as time passes. But that might not happen anytime soon =/.
You will not be working for Alexander S. but you have done a fantastic review that you are more than satisfied with. The video is also very nice in detail. The protagonist, that is the watch in question, is also very beautiful and elegant. Thank you for what you do but above all for the passion that is evident in that and how you do it.
P.S. : I don't know your language well, so I use mine (Italian) and have it translated by Google Translate, so if any words or phrases may not make sense, don't take it bye.
What stuns me is the different ideas in each video and of course the nicely set up scenes with the tempo going up and down in a very natural way. Great job 👏
