Restoration of a Rusty Bruno Söhnle Glashütte Automatic-Watch - Sellita SW-200 Full Service

- Опубліковано 6 жов 2024
- This time i´am restoring an automatic wristwatch. The model is called
"Lagomat" and it´s made by Bruno Söhnle in Glashütte (Germany).
It is powered by an Sellita SW-200 movement, made in La Chaux-de-Fonds
(Switzerland) and modified by Bruno Söhnle. The saphire crystal is
surrounded by a rose gold ion-plated stainless steel bezel. The black
dial with rose gold indices and hands complete the portrait of this
elegant dresswatch priced at approx. 1300 USD.
Unfortunately the watch isn´t running at all, the crown-stem is
broken and there is quite some rust inside this beautiful movement.
The watch and especially the strap is dirty and smells awful.
It seems like some of the rust and dirt has found it´s way to the
dial as well and the hands have tarnished over time.
After disassembling the watch, the movement starts moving again.
But as expected, the movement is in a pretty bad condition and loses
several minutes a day. I need to disassemble the whole movement,
clean all the parts and re-assemble it with some fresh oil.
The crown-stem has broken off flush on the crown. No chance to get
it out by handtools, without damaging the crown itself. After 1 week
in an alum/water-bath the stem has dissolved completely and
a new stem can be mounted.
Dial and hands are cleaned and after some slight polishing of
the case and bezel, the watch can be assembled again. Treat this
watch a new strap and enjoy it on the wrist.
A small downer: The rosegold bezel has some slight signs of wear-off.
Re-Plating the stainless steel bezel is a pretty expensive job,
even more if the color shade should match the original. That´s why
i leave it as it is.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

These videos are perfect. Love that there is no narrating; all you hear is the clicks when pieces fall into place. Super relaxing and satisfying. Great job please keep it up.
Exactly... In your silence is the perfection
Jorge Custódio Definitely the full ASMR effect with this guys vids
That's true, I have to try that also on my channel :-). He is doing a realy good job.
@@MrInterkid ⁶😉
Don't forget the socks
So relaxing. No music. No narration. Just the sound of watch tools and movement... Perfect.
Thank you for not talking...the video and sound are great...I feel so good when I hear your breathing and the sound of your tools clearly...whenever I'm tired and come back from work, and a lot of time I watch your channel's videos before going to sleep...thank you♥️♥️♥️👍👍👍👍
Die Videos haben eine unglaubliche Ästethik. Man muß beim zuschauen die Luft anhalten. Ganz großes Kino. 👍
For someone who is starting out, this your old video seems way more achievable than the new videos. Also no silly time travel machine.
I Think what makes these Videos awesome is that it's all About the Artistry.....And not about Self Gratification...How many videos have we watched that is about the Individual and not the work being done ........This Brother doesn't find it necessary to even show his Face.....All About the "CRAFT''.....Well Done Young Man
I need more videos!! I've watched all of yours at least 5x times each, they're super relaxing and I love watching the craftsmanship
Same!!!
Please
Hell yeah keep them coming!
How much watch
Same haha, maybe some even more 😂
Lets blow this channel up!!! Quality content. Not like those fake "I happened to find a watch in a rice field that needs restoration" channels that gets millions of views pretending to restore fake watches.
100% agree 👍
Lol I saw that one, well the first 30 seconds before I stopped watching.
Music 🎶?
I’m am just so impressed that you are able to keep you hands so incredibly still. Putting that jewel in the balance wheel pivot would have given me way too much anxiety. Incredible work!
This person has golden fingers. The precision of the gesture is close to perfection, they are rare people because to refurbish this kind of broken thing is a feat. It's a company with a lot of people who made this watch. While he is alone
Thanks I appreciate that 👍😉
I just marvel at how small, intricate and delicate some of the parts of the watch are, and not just that he can remove them, though also that someone made them and fitted it all together in the first place!
Merveilleux. J'adore qu'il n'y ait pas de musique, ni de bruit autre que les bruits du démontage...Tellement relaxant.
How could somebody let this watch age that bad? Marvelous restoration job as always!
Something extremely satisfying about watching you work. Lovely to see such skill and care. Making it like new again instead of conforming to the throw away culture we live in
Also such a wonderful degree of craftsmanship to create the movement to begin with.
It's after 2am and I'm watching these to soothe me into sleep. Better than Valium.
funny. same here :-)
That is a beautiful watch. I do not know much about watches YET but this watch struck me as a quality product. It never occurred to me that Germany made any kind of quality watches . but in my opinion this watch looks fantastic.
Germany is making some awesome watches. Glashütte Original, Steinhart, Nomos, Sinn, Laco, Junghans... for example 😉
How incredibly satisfying this process is.
Stunning work . It took me an hour to put a second hand back on , cased it up and it fell off ....Thanks for sharing your skills with us .
You can actually see the dirt hop off in the ultrasonic thingy! Beautiful restoration, no music as well (Thanks!).
p
Die Geduld brächte ich im Leben nicht auf. Super Arbeit!
Also nice how you fixed the broken stem in the crown, good job!
Never heard of the watch brand but it is beautiful and the internal craftsmanship is awesome. Thanks for the video...very enjoyable.
Persone come voi dovrebbero vivere per sempre, in voi c'è la maestria l'amore e la sapienza dell'umanità.
I've always wondered how my automatic watch was built inside. This was very satisfying to observe.
There is something so relaxing when viewing your videos. I also love the wimsy you add at times. First class all the way.
Just the type of Asmr channel I have been looking for!
Fascinating skill demonstration, making each part must be even more intricate.
i have longed to wait this watch restoration style, the others are either too long or too short, or too simple, or too complicated. this is the video i need. please make more video of watch restoration like this with all swiss watches!
Thanks for your comment
I'm currently working on a tiny swiss ladies watch. I hope I can upload it soon ⌚
Skill and art to bring this back to life.
Dude, you are like the Swiss Watch of Swiss Watch restoration.
Brilliant piece of work on a fine watch. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos for us.
Finally after watching all of your video,
i know what the purple thing is...
Shock-absorber
Thanks
Man, i begin a formation in watch, in this time we learn the automatic movement, and it’s the same like you, awesome. Thank you for the help lol
That's a sw-200? Wow I they've done so much finishing work that I couldn't even tell! Nice job.
Это завораживает,когда часы встали,а потом идёт процесс ремонта,а потом сборка и механизм заработал,это замечательно.
Ce travail et ces vidéos sont remarquables. Un régal.
merci ;)
Where ever you find these watches please let us know. I would like to stay away from these people. Anyone who treats a watch like that has serious issues. Or did the prior owner loose his life in that tragedy?
But as always you do an awesome job. Hey there us a Chinese watch repairer on here that pulls them out of the dirt, out of the ocean and even rusted solid and even in concrete. He works unrealistic miracles in had fantasy world. He should watch your channel. At least your restorations are real.
Sir. You do fantastic work!
Thank you for another fine video!
Can’t stop watching your videos.
Your videos are like therapy, please continue to making them :)
genius. I've just binge-watched all your videos... It was amazing.
I was surprised to see the crystal in such nice condition considering the overall abuse of the rest of the watch. Great video thanks again
🙄🤦♂️
What up, Red? When I found you last month I commented on how much I like your videos. I especially like no narration. The ASMR thing really works for you. And all your little gimmicks & shticks are a crack up. The Time Machine and those socks are my favorites. So I thought I’d take a look at how many videos you’ve got racked up and noticed you’ve only got 37 over the last 3 years. So I was like, oh hell yes siree Bob, I can go back to the very beginning and watch… pun intended… you from the very start and be up to speed in a couple of days. So I got some ‘watchin’ to do. And, FYI, I’ve watched a bunch of other videos and I’ve got to tell you, I really, really like your style
although I compained for the scary scull and the name dead I must admit that the videos are perfect. The image is perfect and from all the videos that I have seen of this type the best.
Muy buen video "Red Dead Restoration". Exelente demostración. Saludos.
Roberto-Córdoba Argentina.
Really good techniques and skills rarely found these days
Neat trick using potassium alum to dissolve the broken stem in the crown.
Love to watch your restorations...which was your most challenging restore till date...
Die Uhr hat Stil. Gefällt mir das Design!
Amazing work. You deserve more views and subscribers. They will come.
Yes man u dont talk dats is what amazing
Needs music 🎶
Another great job, I really like the face of this watch its uniqueness really catches the eye.
U R A ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RESPECT!!! THANK YOU !!!!
Good morning I see that you are a fairly good technician I am a self-taught person who also delights in the disassembly and reassembly of quartz and automatic watches
That is the prettiest SW-200 I've ever seen
Oh and what a fantastic dial! That is one sweet watch!
And btw nothing wrong with the stem that a little JB weld couldn't fix..But it is best to do that after super gluing the dial in place.
what a beautiful watch ! your work is so precise and really exciting
If i had to rebuild a Watch like that it would probably take me into another dimension.. Good work man... Subscribed!
I really love the look of that watch.
Love your channel. You are such a creative person. Bringing life to dead watches. Hats off to your hard work. All the best and keep it up. Already subscribed!👍🏼
One of the finest Channels I have ever seen. Please bring us more! Maybe a chronograph?
I'm not really a Chronograph-Fan but sure, a Chronograph would be a nice video 😉
I sent you a DM on Instagram
Awesome skills.
It's amazing the effort behind the designing and how such small parts are made.
Beautiful movement and great work! Seems to be an upgraded Sellita.
Thank you ! amazingly satisfying and relaxing, great work and beautiful time pieces.
Great work on a watch that has not had a good past life.
Beautiful job in a lovely watch , I never knew that “Alum” was so powerful, saw it as a comedy item on old Loony Toones cartoons😐😐😂😂👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Wow that's an amazing watch .. Rather rare so thank you so much for the video it was a perfect service.
Посмотрел шесть роликов. Первые два смотрел забывая дышать))) После просмотра шестого ролика - разобрал и собрал старый будильник)))))))
Будильник, мать его, заработал!!!! ))))))))
The best.....top....wonderful.....no words..... silence and perfection!!
Your work and skill is just amazing! That’s a good looking watch!
better than toy story andy restoration :) such as fast movement i like it
Again a beautifull result...
Thanks for taking the time to make the video and share it
So meticulous and captivating ! thank you for sharing your passion !
Thank you for the intricate and fascinating videos.
Beautiful looking movement, as nice as the case, great restoration thanks
What a fantastic job! Well done. You are a real professional.
Thanks 👍
Beautiful rotor on this watch, I love it. Nice video editing as well!
I'm going to be a geek here, but your the only person I've saw using that putty to handle the gem stones. I would imagine they are quite delicate. And yet I've watched other repairers grip them with tweezers across the top and bottom. Surely that would scratch it .
Beautiful... Its lovely to see precious watches get restored :)
This watch is perfect. Your job is excellent. Thank you.
More of this restoration videos pls
I love your work I hope I can learn some of the skill thanks for sharing
Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship! Job well done!
Great job - as ever! I'd strongly recommend to record live spoken comments rather than written lines, saying why and what for. Then the video would be perfect!
So satisfying to watch, very well produced video too. Thankyou for producing this content, most enjoyable.
This one was really nice loved the sound of everything was perfect
Very nice, good as new, would be proud to wear it
Very patiently doing assembling works
I could only dream of such dexterity.
Stunning watch, love the glass backplate, and the movement is beautiful 👌🏾👌🏾
Such nice construction!
Very beautiful watch. Nice job !!
Vous êtes très méticuleux
C est quelque chose d’ inné chez vous
Ça va vous paraître étrange, mais j adore les bruits du démontage aussi!
excellent restoration dude thank you
I like the hydraulic press part 14:32. Pretty amazing.
I just loved it ,always wanna buy a watch like this...❤
Simply amazing! Subscribed immediately ... now busy waiting for the new videos!
Many thanks!
Thank you. Yes very relaxing. To work with your hands is a gift of God and one of the joys of living
Hier sieht man auch schön den Unterschied zwischen einer einfachen und einer hochwertigen Uhr.
Wow! The work you do is really amazing.
Perfick! Such a lovely job you did. Great to watch. Thank you.
Love it. No poxy Jazz music 👍
