Tim your channel has such great information just love to watch. You and your family seem to be great and honest people. Thanks for such a great channel.
Lots of different skills used in just a few short hours to get your work done. Keeps you in practice. Camera work was pretty good. Thanks for taking us along. Hope you had a get vacation and maybe we will see some video.
Tim that girl is going to get yall a new farm before long. I'm so proud of her getting a good education. PS Tim when you and I were growing up it was cultivator and hoe time when we row cropped. This before all of the premerge and roundup. Two weeks here in Oklahoma my sweet is just about ready. I'm with you on having the tools you need God bless.
Great to have a variety show. A day in the life of Tim and not the video editing side. Looks like the Pats easy change hitch was doing double duty carrying the wand hose. Hope the visit with Katriel was a great one. You must have a long list of people to mow your grass.
Great job with the work and the filming all on your lonesome today Tim. I enjoyed the "day-in-the-life" style of today's video just showing the random chores that you take care of and how versatile your equipment can be.
Please don't be jealous. There is obviously no way we could afford all of these toys. We depend on the help of our sponsors to provide them. ...and we depend on you the viewers to keep watching us! Thanks for watching!
Tim, I just bought my first tractor, a JD 2025r, and received it last week. I can't tell you how incredibly helpful your channel was during the research and evaluation process; not to mention all of the things that I've already learned about tractors and how to use them. I can't wait to start tackling our own projects on our 5 acre property . . . and with a whole bunch of great knowledge and instruction from you before I even get started. God bless and keep the great content coming!
Great job TIm! I really liked “following you around” in this video and the various projects. I can’t imagine the patience and wok in doing the video yourself, and you did it well. You folks really make it enjoyable for us. Looking forward to your work/vacation trip, and hopefully see Katriel as well. Thanks again for sharing your talents with us! Blessings.
I’m a buy kinda guy, too. I’m always going to have stumps that need grinding and lawn that needs mowing, etc. maybe if we had less land to maintain it would be a different story. Great group of projects!
I think rent/buy both have their advantages and disadvantages as you’ve pointed out. There are times that I have bought so that I have the freedom of using it when I need and not be rushed to complete a job. And then after I’m all done, sold it a discount. So in the end I probably paid the same as renting but instead of paying a rental business I “bought” flexibility and my time. Great video as always Tim. Enjoy your trip.
If you have trouble with surging in tight areas, try power braking. (Keeping a constant rpm and controlling speed with the brakes) it won't hurt for short times and gives precise control in places you need it. Have a great day.
The farmers with livestock around me are cutting every road ditch they can for food for their animals because we haven't had much rain for more than a month.
I was always taught you want a small amount of play on the 3 point hitch. If solid and you hit something there is no play to take the shock. Have also read that in manuals . Great work I did enjoy watching it.
Tim, I really enjoyed this video. The one man camera show forces you to become creative with the camera, I enjoyed this one for sure. Hope you enjoyed your trip to Italy.
It's definitely a fun task to come up with good shots by yourself. I'm just starting out in the UA-cam world, and I'm still learning a ton about getting good tractor footage. It's an adventure trying to get good content when mowing 8-10 foot high overgrowth, or mowing a large field. The one thing I'm struggling with is on board footage. It's always vibrating really bad, to shaky, or just doesn't show enough to be used.
I've always been told that you want a little bit of sway in the 3pt hitch so that in the event you hit something with an implement there is a little "give" to prevent bending or even breaking something. My Massey Ferguson 1740M has the pin type link stabilizers like those shown on your Kubota, and I find them quite easy to use and adjust when hooking up implements. Love the videos! I'm like you Tim, I like to buy the implements that I think I will get plenty of use out of on our property, something that I would use seldom, I would probably rent. Thinking about getting one of those Maschio flail mowers soon. I was very impressed with it's versatility over a rotary mower (which I have), but the flail mower can get into places that I can't with a rotary mower. I mow my roadsides as well here in NC, it just makes the property look better, plus it provides clear visibility.
Speaking of the flail mower, when is the gang of Ventrac going to bring down one of their new razzle dazzle flail mowers so you can have a contest between the two companies! Lol lol
You needed to add another category to the rent vs buy...borrow from friends or neighbor. I will borrow from a neighbor if they have something I need but if I'm borrowing more than a few times or I need it for a long time then I need to go out and buy it myself. Good example: log splitter. I borrowed a log splitter from my neighbor and it turns out I was using it more than they were. So I ended up thanking them and going out and buying my own. Like you, I would rather own than lease or borrow. Great video. That mower does a great job on the roadside. Thanks for sharing.
Was hoping to see a short bit on blowing that grass off the roadway. Fresh-mowed grass is like grease to a motorcycle. Johnny's 60 inch deck makes a great blower to push that grass off the pavement.
Good grief. 18 blades of grass on the roadway. Meanwhile, motorcycles dart in and out in traffic, endangering everyone around them. I’m so sick of the whiners in the comment section making a big deal of this. You had to zoom in to see ANY grass on the roadway!!!!
@@TractorTimewithTim I can tell you don't ride bikes or you wouldn't dismiss this so easily! It is a legitimate comment, but you don't seem to accept criticism very well. I thought the comments section was for both praise and concerns. It was quite easy to see a lot of grass being blown onto the roadway. I will stop following you since you don't take criticism very well!
Seriously? Robert, you have watched our videos for years. You would stop following because of my response to a safety sally comment!? Sorry to hear that. BTW, my neighbor is an avid motorcycle rider. He blows his clippings onto the road every single week. You are correct. I am out of patience for the safety sally comments. If you would prefer, I could stop looking at comments entirely. Perhaps I should do so. …. But most folks appreciate my honest feedback, even if it is a sometimes disagreeing with the comment.
I'm pretty sure know this, so for your massive audience of non-corn growers, just a little clarification. The wheels on the back of the planter are closing wheels which operate differently than press wheels. The round steel blades, the openers, cut a seed trench. The video nicely then shows how the seed tube drops the seed into the trench. The closing wheels push soil from the side closing the seed trench over the seed. Corn, in particular doesn't like the soil being "pressed" on top of it like some other crops. The closing wheels work like you would cover the seed with your hands. You push the sold from the side over the seed. I know you enjoy nitpickers. Great video!
On your sprayer change the manifold to add another output hose, add a short boom wide enough to cover the row. With that small of pump you probably can only handle three tips. i took a 25 gal sprayer increased the pump to a 3 gal output built a boom with 6 tips mounted it to front of tractor no more taking on and off..
I hope you had/have a great time. Maybe you could install a cat door someplace so they can go in and out whenever they want to. Why does it jump? If the PTO shaft is hard to turn, can you use a large pipe wrench to help you? Or would that damage something? To me the only real advantage to renting something is you don't have to worry about the maintenance on whatever it is you rented. The one nice thing about being in that cab would be the A/C.
Hi Tim, Like you mentioned, for one time usage, renting is fine. But there is the hassle of going to get it, and returning it. Then there is the issue of renting it, but the rental store, hasn't gotten it back from the previous renter. Or when you are ready to rent, it's not available. And of course, making sure all of your ducks are in a row to make the renal worth while an productive. I like purchasing it as most likely I will use it more than once, and when I need it, I can walk to the shed and grab it at any time.
Tim, you do a good job mowing that road frontage! I am a buyer of tools/equipment. If I need to rent I hire it done. Too much aggravation/learning curve when it is more practical to hire. Best wishes.
i worked at a time share resort for about 12 years, we would mow as needed but for the weekends especially a holiday weekend we would make sure the front got mowed last so the place looked good, i guess i got used to that and now i do the same at home. like the ditch in front of my house i like to mow from one end of my property line to the other. i dont own the ditch but it looks good mowed.
Around here some miles of ranch land are mowed and the county pays or really gives credit on their reduced tax rate. Some make it a job to mow and have special tractors and mowers. The rancher or farmer tills double wide inside of their fence to prevent range fires. Big fires will jump the divided interstate in high wind, but a normal running fire will stop - be it his or a neighbor.
When it comes to 3 point hitch and the sway, turn buckle or not, I prefer a little bit of sway. This way if I hit something during use, I have a little bit of give, the implement is not just ridgid.
Definitely have to be careful on any angle with wings up. I mow roadsides and tipped one over a few days ago, two semis decided to pass and I had to put the batwing into the edge of the ditch to keep from getting hit. Wouldn't have been a problem unfolded since I had just drove out of it.
I like to buy but it is to the point that we are out of room for storage. Some of the things you have I would love to have but I might use somethings so little that it is easier for me to rent and let someone else store it. Great video and thank you for all the time and effort you put into your work.
I think the inability to get that sway out is more a function of the Kubota's 3pt geometry in general (both coming to nearly a point near PTO shaft) than the anti-sway link mechanism.
All I can say is 2 things. 1. Tim is a very smart man.
2. Tim is Living his Dream. Great American.
Very kind, Mark. Thanks!

I wanted a corn planter like yours. They told me they have a list so I found a Cole planter and worked like a charm. 6 rows 300 ft long
Hope you enjoy the vacation! Be safe!
Well then, welcome home!
We use crossbow and roundup in the same mix and it does absolutely amazing. It does this on existing plots and new plots as well.
This is the perfect example of overthinking something simple. I could’ve broadcast this and came up with the same results!
What portion? 4 projects here.

2,4,D and glyphosphate without protection. Be sure and get your PSA checked twice a year.

Mowing the road ditch is your first defense on weed control in your fields
I suppose, but really doesn’t make too much difference these days.
Try putting the transmission in neutral, that may release the PTO shaft. That's what I have to do with my JD4320. Love that mower from Rhino.
