    Tim & Katriel,
    Nearly everything I could say has been said by other commenters. You, Katriel and Christy are among the very best on UA-cam. Entertainment, valuable information, and terrific personalities in evey video. We, the viewers, are blessed by your presence, that of your friends, and extended family each time you share. I encourage Katriel to share her knowledge gained from her graduate and postgraduate education with us. Thanks.

    Having fun with your daughter is the best part of the day & video. It won't be too long before she won't be able to come home very often. Two of my three kids live in different states now and it takes me two days to get to ones place but the other is over 1,000 miles from home. Enjoy it while you can.

    Instead of fencing our whole garden, we used to put a radio out there that played music all night. You have to change the station occasionally though, or they get used to the sounds. 😂 Pie pans tied on a string to fence posts really help too, especially with birds.

    great video as always...great to see Katriel back on a tractor (even if it was an orange one!). One thing I wanted to mention (someone might have beat me to it but I haven't read through the comments) is something I learned about electric fences for livestock when I was growing up. If you are going to test it with a body part like a hand, do it with the back of your hand or the "top" side of your wrist/forearm since the jolt of current can make your muscles contract. If you are doing it with your palm, that can cause you to grab the wire and make it difficult to let go. Of course, these days the pulse modulation on a modern unit (and especially the type of unit you use) has enough time between the jolts to allow your muscles to relax and for you to let go of it..but it's just a best practice to keep that in mind to form a habit that will work in all cases. Good luck with the "winter corn" :)

    Tim you’re living the dream. You’ve truly been blessed. As I stated before the scenery there is another World. Wide open flat land. The reason I get so much work with my Tractor is because I’m 4 miles to what they call Spaghetti Junction. That’s where several Interstates cross to go different directions around Atlanta GA. My Neighborhood sits back in a hardwood and pine thicket yet accessible to the Concrete Jungle. Best of both worlds so when I see the videos where you do your work, the Scenery and landscape is so different. The majority of our work is folks that have drainage problems. Thanks for the video. Mark.

    Tim, I remove and install my quick hitch by using the heavy hitch, hitch and suitcase weight cart. Simply put the weight cart into the receiver and lower the three point hitch then remove the pins holding the quick hitch. Reverse the process to install the quick hitch to the tractor. As a matter of fact, I bought the suitcase weight cart to make installing the quick hitch easier. Have a great day - cheers

    august heat is okay for another sweet corn planting but don't delay plant today.for gentle control especially in tight places where delicacy is required or the show gets tore down, throttle to lowest position..... lift that shelf up, there is no margin for error and some one WILL forget to have the throttle all the way down in the future at some point. very few people have pallet racks with out atleast 1 bent cross member.

    In upstate NYS, we don't plant corn after the 4th of July and even then, you'll lose the crop if you get a killing frost in late September. We have Lake Ontario nearby and that protects against most early frosts so I pick sweet corn into October most years. I'm waiting for Roundup ready sweet corn.

    Rather than a simple wire fence.
    There is a roll up electronet fencing you could have put up. And put into the ground by foot. No drive needed. And a panel of deference for the raccoons.
    Easy to setup store and move.
    Only need this once the ears are setting until harvest.

  • @ShaneZettelmier

    When you’re driving the post it made me wonder, could you weld a tube or something on the bucket and use that to press them down into the ground. Your ground seems pretty soft but sometimes they’re kind of a pain to drive, especially if you’re doing a long fence line. I know they have pneumatic and hydraulic ones that pound them into the ground but I’m just thinking of a farmer welding something on a bucket and just using that to press it down to do it on the cheap?

    • @whitefarms3274
      @whitefarms3274 2 роки тому +2

      Great Idea ! We’ve Installed hundreds of tee posts using bucket but it doesn’t press
      down straight (moves in an arch). Have to compensate if you want posts in go in straight. Multiple presses worked best for us

    Been a follower of yours for about 3 years. Love all your video's and has really helped me at my small farm. This video with your daughter was lovely to see and entertaining. However, must you use large industrial spraying principles on the your corn like 2-4-D? I have had my pesticides licence here in Canada for 20 years and each time I enrol in the seminar the instructor mentions the danger of this spray. Tim, can you not use this spray. After a while, the soil grows very little weeds if you remove them before they go to seed. I have a mid size garden and have very little weeds and use wood chips and it enhances the quality of the soil - This is just my small issue after watching your video's. Thinking of you and the health of your family.
