Beautiful sapphire. And such a peaceful spot. Even if you come up empty, it's still a day well spent. Looks like I've been spending too much time prospecting here in the U.S. Might be time to plan a visit... :D
Excellent work and well deserved mate. That's a beautiful blue sapphire. Beautiful location and sure beats dithering on the dry mainland for scraps of sapphire barely as good as what you find. Thanks for sharing 👍
That's awesome, I've actually got one those orangey coloured zircons bit bigger than that one, I wasn't to sure what it was till now, I'm hoping it is anyhow.
Very Nice Leon Lion. I was just thinking it was almost time to head back to the Weld River for another trip, hence I just found your Video (Even though I was already subscribed, must have missed it when you posted it) I'd certainly be keen for a group dig sometime, if that ever happens. I've pulled out a few small sapphires, and one nice big topaz in my 2 trips to the Weld. Love to see what you ended up with at the end of the day mate. Cheers
when you go into the main camping area there is an old track heading out to the left that goes through the bush alongside the river, You can drive down it with a 4wd but i wouldnt recommend doing it in much else. If you wander down that way with your gear you will see a few paths on the right hand side of that track that lead down to good spots on the river. If you go right to the end of that track, you will find the camp area me and my mate created with machettes and a chainsaw to remove all the fallen logs and trees. There is a few access points down there where you will see the exact spots from my videos :) Please respect my camp area as i put alot of work into it and have had a few people mess it up in recent times. Ill be happy to meet you up there sometime for a group dig with a few others.
LEON LION PROSPECTING I know the exact spot mate, many thanks for clearing it out, great work. My favourite spot is probably about halfway down that track and in to the right where there's what must be an old mine filled in with water. That little area of the river has always looked after me. Hope to catch you out there some time, I'll say hi if I see you :)
Hi! Do you still go down? I’m in spreyton and we would love to go but don’t know where to start :) Would love to come down for a trip next time you do one
Mate awesome Sapphire Well done! That's the stuff dreams are made of. Did you make up your own sieves? I've been trying to design something better than what I've been using; ended up settling for the standard round sieves except with a custom larger mesh gauge on the bottom sieve. This area is my local go to, might see you up there one day 👌
I enjoyed learning about your system! Thanks for sharing; love that blue Tasmanian Sapphire and the cute jelly bean... great video!
well done mate ... perseverance, you'll hit a big one.
Awesome video yet again, loving these.

Great job mate looks fun does a sapphire like that have much $ value?
Levi Triffitt nah not really , but if you find more round shaped ones they can have value as the can be cut easier
Nice area, why not use a sluice box might be some gold mixed in with those heavies...
ill make one lol i used to have one that i made but i left it in the weather and it went rusty lol
Is that up the end of the track inside the camp grounds?
If so, I found a 10.5ct blue further up those rapids. :)
