My suggestion would be to drop your rock on a tarp so you can dump it back in the water. Those sweet little mossy banks would appreciate it. Cool video!
Man your cinematography is stunning! Every video has the most beautiful shots of the gorgeous Tasmanian nature. Like at 5:45 that is just unreal! Gems and gold are just the icing on the cake! Keep it up Rob!
I immediately wanted to immerse myself in that living paradise - the lush overhead canopy, massive ferns, mossy banks, and the life-giving flow of the creek. Such beauty borders on the surreal, even without the natural treasures hidden from sight. I can almost feel the coolness of the water on my skin and smell the fresh rainforest scents. I yearn for the peace to be found in such utopian places as this.
Man I remember the fun sapphire hunting up out past Tamworth and also out past Glen innes sometimes in the pouring rain. I have to say your location is much more picturesque. I think I'm going to get back into again!
I'm moving to Tasmania in a few month's..I don't do what you guy's do but looking at the streams and nature is making me even more excited. Beautiful! I never been there .
well young fella, best not to toss sapphires around in the scrub. pleased your mate was a good cricketer. Those sapphires look like cutting into a nice light blue colour. What a fun game. I hoped you kept the zircon. they look good in a vial.
Thanks for stopping by! Please let me know what you thought of this video below! If you’re interested in joining my patreon where I post exclusive content like extended edits, deleted videos and plenty more personal stuff I’ll leave a link here www.patreon.com/robparsons Have a great day!
Well hunting Sapphires is something different, but looks great fun too Anything that puts you back into that sort of scenery with lush bush, and clean flowing water has gota be good The whistling was really good too
I don't know what made youtube suggest this channel. But this is so much better than those tv shows about gold. It was like big business cutting down huge areas of land with huge machines. This is calming, and you are just finding nature. I subscribed! Love the intelligence, the accent, personality, and the calmingness of how you go about it! Thank you for being you and being here to share it with us!
What beautiful NE country. So wish my Dad, originally from the NE., was alive to see all this. He dabbled in fossicking, but was a fly Fisher to the bone.
G'day Mate! Your videos are fantastic! The nature is beautiful and I dig (get it ?)how you just jump in and go to town. Keep up the great work. It makes me want to dig up my backyard looking for treasures.
Amazing stuff Rob... was already in awe of the beauty of Tassie, but in awe just as much that there's gems and sapphires hidden away in her creeks and rivers. Awesome stuff Mate. Cheers! 😎
A very beautiful wilderness area you were in Rob, with your mate Des. I have not been to the North-East of Tasmania that much Rob, the river and the bush looked awesome so did the gems particular the Sapphire's. Keep the Videos coming best of luck......Pete from Devonport...🍎🤠😎🛻⛏
Stunning locations 😍 The larger stream with the cascading waterfalls is beautiful. How lucky you are, to live in such a beautiful part of the world. 👍🙂
Looked like a beautiful place to spend the day. Getting to find your own treasure makes it all the better. Thats why I spend a lot of time in the woods looking for artifacts of ancient man. This was another great video Rob.👍
Hi Rob, such choice spots to fossick. My family had a lease near Rubyvale in Qld. Mainly dark stones there. The light stones you found are brilliant. They will look amazing cut. Good work brother.
Great vid Rob, love the quirky ball cluster of saphires, funny that you threw it away in one sense, glad you got to keep it, very unusual piece , good job !
Thanks again Rob for the interesting video. I've just got back to Qld from 2 weeks in Tassie. Quite cold but as usual brilliant scenery and the freshest air.
This is such a beautiful location and your drone shots did it such justice. Great placement from the river as well and getting different perspectives with your gloves to show scale. I live in an area with geography like this, but much colder and no real precious stones in the area. We search for agates and chalcedony, quartz and maybe jasper or jade if we are lucky enough to find any of decent quality, so videos like this are a real treat. I cant afford to visit these other places, but just knowing that other people are experiencing that magic of discovery and geological history is such a great feeling. Especially when it is shot professionally in good weather and settings haha. Only thing i would change is maybe switch the music more often or lower the volume altogether letting the ambient noises take the stage. They can be very soothing out there and double as ASMR videos and give you a whole new demographic of viewers. Wishing you all the success and luck finding the best specimens in your future adventures! Stay safe out there :)
I call the far North Queensland tropical rainforest 'Home'. However, the Tasmanian Temperate rainforests are absolutely stunning. I can't do cold weather so I doubt I'll ever get down there to experience it myself, so videos like this allow me to enjoy it without my toes freezing off.
Nice one Rob! Think you smashed the music too, the whistling rather suits the lonely nature of your expeditions. Nice stones, doesn't look quite as painful as sniping, interested to see if you are able to do anything with your finds. Keep safe!
It's very deceiving,..sniping is actually quite relaxing as you are generally weightless. My back felt like it was broken after all this gem sieving! I appreciate the feedback regarding music too, thanks!
Great work Rob. Good looking snake country!. I’ve been watching Levi and your prospecting videos and I really need to figure out how to prospect having been to many of these places for work.
Interesting stuff. My father used to head out to Sapphire/Rubyvale/Anakie way to fossick years ago. I ended up with hundreds of point-size gems but have never had the heart to part with them. Got no idea what they're worth but there's about half a kilo of stones of different colours in the collection. They're all anywhere from 2mm to 4mm across. Yellows, Blues, some red stones and some tiny Stars. I should get them valued one day...
Bro this was a sick video, yall found some epic specimens especially that one you found at 7:20. UA-cam recommend this video, so I'm definitely going to subscribe. I will heck out more of your content. I rally enjoy how you she nature landscapes in your video too.
By chance maybe later this year would you be interested in coming on as a guest on the Rockhound Podcast? It would be a hour long episode or so. Me and 3 others get together and interview rock niche channels from all over the world.
Que tal amigo, es la primera vez que te escribo y vaya quede impresionado por el gran paisaje que te rodea, en verdad todo esta hermoso, te saludo desde Puebla, México.... un abrazo
Hi Rob! Congratulations on your marriage. From Northern California. JJ I subscribe, I learned about your channel from Levi, I was very impressed in your video The Hunt for stannards grave
I type this from Coober Pedy where I’ve spent the morning scratching around the moonscape for opal with very limited success. The landscape here could not be more different! Loved your video as always and looking forward to returning home to QLD to see some green grass and trees 👍🏼
Hey there - I just love to watch the beauty of the Country you live in - *hammergeil.. by looking at the plants I always wart for a dinosaur coming arround the corner 😂 Now a more „economical“ question: In comparison to the gold you have found - what are these stones worth after Treatment/ cutting/ polishing? Cheers and greetings from germany-bavaria 😊
Thanks for the great comment. It certainly does look Jurassic. That’s because these plants are ancient! As for the stones, it all depends on the clarity size ect. But rule of thumb is $1000 for a 1 carat sapphire that’s nice colour, clean and cut. Smaller stones are more common so are less than $1000 carat. But big stones are more rare and are worth more than $1000 carat. I think that’s how it works anyway I wouldn’t really know I haven’t ever sold anything.
I heard we have a 10000 year old dead huon pine tree growing up the side of a mountain somewhere in tasmania. That would be cool to see. Heard it on the news many year ago. Love the footage.
Absolutely beautiful video and production👍, New Subscriber's and we hit the bell, looking forward to seeing more 🤗 Cheers 🍺🍺🍺🍺KC Cradle Mountain Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺🤝🇦🇺🇦🇺😎👍
Gold, Sapphires, beautiful nature.. Western Tasmania seems to be an awesome place for outdoor adventures.
Thanks!
Thanks Peter!
Thanks
Thank you mate thats really bloody kind of you!
My suggestion would be to drop your rock on a tarp so you can dump it back in the water. Those sweet little mossy banks would appreciate it. Cool video!
That was fun to watch. Good thing you friend has good hands an caught the stone you threw at him!
Stumbled across Des while we were fossicking for our first time. So knowledgeable and friendly. Top bloke!
Man your cinematography is stunning! Every video has the most beautiful shots of the gorgeous Tasmanian nature. Like at 5:45 that is just unreal! Gems and gold are just the icing on the cake! Keep it up Rob!

Another good watch. Short and sweet
I'm moving to Tasmania in a few month's..I don't do what you guy's do but looking at the streams and nature is making me even more excited. Beautiful! I never been there .
Thanks to Doctor in the end which knows gems and prices.

I liked the whistling music at the beginning. Only turn the volume down on it so I can hear what you two are saying.
in the Philippines we only use that stone as a bullet for slingshot.
Well hunting Sapphires is something different, but looks great fun too
Anything that puts you back into that sort of scenery with lush bush, and clean flowing water has gota be good
The whistling was really good too
Nice I’ve done a little gem stone searching in North Queensland so much fun

I love the fossicking videos.
The whistle in the background was just so heart warming❤❤

Cheers Peter yeah its different out that way, definitely much more dry but still myrtle forests and ferns ect. just no horizontal. no complaints!
Stunning locations 😍

Tasmanian NE is stunning. You captured the beauty so well. I wanted to be there so badly. Great work on the gem finds!

Some cool little pieces mate, looks like a beauty of a place!

You're missing out. I'm from far north QLD myself but Tassie is stunning. It's nothing like the rest of Australia. Similar to NZ or Europe
@@JayJay-ue3xy Mate, I would love to visit. But I can't do sustained temperatures under 10C.
@@BradGryphonn its 25c in summer and not 10c in the evening. It was hot in the evening when I went that we used the aircon.

Cutting, that's the thing. To find them then get them cut instead of storing them up for years LOL (like lazy me). Once again beautiful location.

Love the footage.
Good stuff once again mate
Just one thing do you or other prospectors for gems leave their waste pans on the banks or rake them back in
The rule of thumb for all prospectors whether gold or gems is to replace material as best you can when done which is what we do.
from white to Ceylon blue nice
Fantástic, show
