    Hello there. I know that is a long time since you posted this tutorial but, maybe you can still help me. I'm stuck at the dissambly of the DLR 80 oil piston. Maybe you can give a hint how to remove one of the two ends in order to replace the oil seal from the top oil cartridge bushing. I can send you a photo with the stage where I'm at if you tell me how :-)

    Top tip: When you are refilling the oil, while cycling the cartridge to get the air out, there are microbubbles still trapped in the oil that need to rise to the surface. Set the cartridge to the side for about five minutes undisturbed and let them rise. Cycle it again, set it aside another five minutes. Repeat about three times. Otherwise when you just rush reassembling the cartridge, all those microbubbles will eventually rise and gather to form one large air bubble.

    I got the seal kit from a Cannondale dealer. The seal that you don't show that's on the inside I did't see a perfect match for in the kit. It was a tiny bit smaller and thicker than the new ones in the kit. The ones in the kit for the top and inside in the kit were the exact same. The replacement one for the top was right on, but like I said, the one on the inside was originally thicker and tighter. Did you notice this on yours? I put the new thinner one in and it seems to hold for now.

    First of all when you're filing cartridge with new oil you can't let the piston come above the oil level while stroking to avoid airbubbles production

    is the o-ring design just flawed ? or is it a material problem ? or is the lubrication bad ?

    I see so many devices where the o-rings ARE the failure point.
    What can be done about this ?

    Шлицы на картридже сорваны в хлам, больно смотреть. При том, что есть в продаже фирменный ключ Кастл.

    frigen loctite is expensive i never realized it
