      there won't be dining areas and bathrooms for the new fast food joints they'll build, it'll be almost entirely automated with just a few employees and no indoor dining area or public restrooms. it'll strictly be drive-thru. as far as wait times, that's doubtful -- if anything they should improve slightly and not have their orders screwed up nearly as often.

    • @ryanbarker5217
      @ryanbarker5217 6 місяців тому

      @@Pyr01 i'm saying the wait times should be improved. times in a drive-thru used to be measured in seconds, now it's minutes. automation should very much impact the speed, accuracy, and performance.
      don't get me wrong, i'd much rather actual people do these jobs. but, companies are being forced into this path, which is a path they could have gone down years and years ago. there are a few things that's really not practical for automation to do, but flipping burgers isn't one of them. the companies they're leaning on are also the companies best positioned for automation, and once they start, it won't be limited to CA. thanks, newscum.
      i suspect that soon they'll go cashless, too, that further cuts costs. personally, i'll never support a cashless business, but most people are idiots and have no qualms doing it. the truth is, though, that not dealing with cash is a big time and cost-saver on a couple of different levels.
      in the coming months, i suspect you'll start seeing more fast food shutting down their indoor dining area. my knee-jerk prediction is within a year you'll start seeing brand new restaurants that are designed specifically with automation in mind, these places have already popped up in test markets. it's not like these mega-companies are being caught off guard, they're serious about contingencies they've known about for awhile. there may be a front area for walk-ins to order through a kiosk, but it won't be for eating.

I don't like to eat in my car unless I'm on a long road trip and trying to make time to get to my destination. Just like any other business, Landlords can’t continually keep rents the same when everything else skyrockets. They are also trying to make a living and the costs of keeping up their property skyrockets too! For more than twenty years my Dad kept his rents lower than most to help people in need. But many renters paid him for his kindness by trashing the rental and costing thousands of dollars in repairs while the renters then didn’t pay their low rents for months! Dad often tried to work with people even then. He was cheated out of his due rents and then had to go to court to get them to move out, also costing big fees! So try thinking about what it is like for the home or apartment owners as a Mom and Pop business in retirement years! Dad was helping us paint and rebuild and repair his places well into his late 90’s! Could you do that?
