And then how much now will a manager make? Now how much will your menu items increase? You talk like someone who has no clue how a business operates. Pretty sad.
@@WhiteGravey I’ve been out of school a while but I don’t recall slaves getting paid.
how many businesses are closing because they simply can't afford to pay GOVERNMENT mandated excessive wages ???
how many workers who were on welfare or other government assistance are LOSING THEIR benefits ???
how many are now LOSING their no skilled jobs and will wind up HOMELESS ???
Prices of everything are going to skyrocket even more, not just fast food prices.
Story didn't cover the thousands of people who were laid off over this new law.
Raise your prices I won't go
free market
You will be there tonight
And so far its been a complete disaster. Shorter hours, less staff, longer wait times, more expensive for consumers, smaller product (shrinkflation) and stores closing down
Funny to complain and then blame homeless people
and thanks to Gavin ... there's gonna be a YUGE increase in homelessness .... .
I'm not comprehending this at all. What's the difference if you're making the same wage in a warehouse or some other profession? Inflation is at a 40 year high, everything (housing, food, etc.) has all gone up and will continue to go up.
People cant even get your order right and get paid 20 an hour lmao unreal!
Why stop at $20? That's insulting.
$50 an hour.
I mean, what's the worst that can happen? They're already feeding inflation with this law. You might as well feed it well.
And you can see it happening in California.
The irony is that the people that they are hurting most are the folks who eat at fast food restaurants the most: The poor and lower middle class.
Quiet, you’ll upset the masses and have them vote the other way around next time
ha ha .. Ironically, some PutinPubliKKKLan in DC is trying to get the Fed minimum to $50.... be careful
How would that hurt the poor, eating at fast food restaurants is far more costly and far less healthy than eating at home, it would actually help the poor that regularly eat there if they could no longer afford it.
@jinov191 I don't think you understand. The poor will still eat there...... because they have to. People who eat fast food are people who are constantly on the Run, mostly because they have multiple jobs. I know someone who's like this, personally, who doesn't have the opportunity to eat at home.
It's a middle-class luxury to eat at home all of the time.
Now don't get me wrong, the unemployed poor can still eat at home. But that's not the vast majority of people who are poor.
Everybody that thinks this is good needs to wake up
I've been with Disney for 28 years and only make $20.01. The new hires are making $19.90. No gratitude for those that have given time and dedication to the company. Especially while raising families and working holidays.
Yea I left DLR partly because everyone with less than 5 years of service got a 27% raise and everyone with more than 5 years got 7%
There must be other reasons why you stuck to it for so long for little pay. What are the upsides to working for Disney?
You should have left 26 years ago for more money
@theotheleo6830 you kind of get sucked in. I started at $5.25 being temporary. Five months later, became a regular at $6.38. Two years later became a foreman for more. Certain jobs get you a premium. Senior cast members were always a little ahead in pay. Recent years, new hires started to get the advantage and now they want everyone at the same pay rate. Negotiations are pretty much a fail.
Complain about workers pay. Do not complain about price gouging by suppliers though. That is the real problem. Do not blame worker's salary.
Watch more businesses close and more people getting laid off. Recall Newsom again and vote these democrats out of office.
If you are 30 or 40 and you are still working at a fast food restaurant, you really need to take a really hard look in the mirror and evaluate the choices you have made in life.
What a STUPID & IDIOTIC LAW!
Great..no customers.
No workers needed..
Insanity. 5 years ago they wanted 15. It’s obvious where this goes.
$30 should be the minimum and even then the slaves would just be barely scraping by
Lower the middle class to poverty to help the people who don’t want to help themselves
@@abolisher Why do you think that is?
They want to buy more votes despite the horrible consequences of their actions.
@@abolisher People make plenty. What they need is to abolish income and property tax, Government don’t need all that money for needless wars.
If only people realized they were fighting corporatism and that raising minimum wage while simultaneously raising taxes on businesses just kills incentive to invest in one’s own community and mainly screws small businesses and poor or working/middle class people which is what they want because it means only big corps thrive and more power for them..Then people might wake up and all protest against property and income tax.
Adults with families to support shouldn’t be working at McDonalds earning minimum wage. They should have done better and worked harder in life. Learn a trade or get an education if you don’t want to earn minimum wage. Now the government has brought the middle class down to their level and everything else is going to go up in price. I rarely ate fast food but now I won’t be eating it anymore. I hope they all go out of business.
Consumers may not have to pay the price on the wage hike , simply go to mom and pop shops.
The other day I went to McDonalds for breakfast to get quick bite to eat. I ordered 2 sausages muffins, and hashbrown comes to total cost $9.34 I was shocked no more eating fast food 😭
Minimum wage jobs are not careers lmfao they should lower Minimum wage.
Do you have a job😂
I was on the road yesterday and went to McDonald's, spent about $50 for three meals and waited 35 minutes for my order. The food was cold and the bread was over toasted. I will never purchase anything from McDonald's. They lost a customer for life.
Thanks sweet Gavin. We are all screwed now.
Food quality will go down, prices will go up, and wages will go up. Makes sense
Fix the real issue that is going on with the state of California. What’s the point of having politicians…? Oh wait corruption. In reality this will just push so many more companies out of California.
How stupid half your coworkers are going to be out of a job! Hope your happy California!
What a joke. See you guys at the grocery store
Stop eating fast foods!
“California, Leading the Way”
Down the Rabbit Hole to Oblivion
These are entry level jobs. Unintended consequences are on the way soon.
No more fast food, let's boycott these junk food places.
And the end of California begins
California->USA->The World
April fools! Wait, they’re serious?!?!
😆😂🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 unfortunately they're serious 😅
Due to minimum wage increase will the fast food workers get 20 hours a week 🤔
They would be lucky to get that much. Probably 3-10 hours a week.
Any of them getting 20 hrs a week will feel like they worked a 50 either way
@@jaketake-li1xband that was before the 20/hr
No I only get one day and not even 8 hours now. It's not even worth it!!! The raise!
@@baebee4358 Wow! That's not even worth going there for only 8 hours.
Have fun getting replaced by kiosks.
Cook and prepare food at home
From not enough pay to no job is like going from the frying pan to the fire. The minimum wage doesn't help the poor but makes them unemployed and broke. 😢
Maybe some will get it right. Fast food jobs arent the jobs you should have to support your family. They are starter job for teens and college kids
Look for higher unemployment when the profits tank they close, plenty of stupid people to interview in California.
Ay frijoles en la casa
😂 Simon mi jefita siempre me decia eso
The whole saying is "ay tortillas y frijoles en la casa Cabron"
It’s gonna be a surge of fast food workers now. Even tech nerds will work part time in fast food to afford to stay in LA La land 😂😂😂
surge of supply, not a surge of demand. If anything the demand will decrease as restaurants switch to automated systems.
It’s how it should be lol
Don't eat fast food!
Fast food is not a necessity. This can easily be cut down. My health will thank me later.
PEOPLE START COOKING HOME.
LOL NO ONE WILL GET PAID BECAUSE THE TECH WILL REPLACE THEM FORSURE
Same with IT and maintenance
You get paid more, but only if you still have your job !!!
Don’t complain enjoy what Y’all voted for this is what happens when You vote People in like Newsom in office🙄
Time for fast-food restaurants to require 4 year degrees and MBAs for employment. Only in a blue state are they this dumb.
Who wants to see Newsom gone and never seen again
Raising minimum wage is pointless because they will always find ways to counter it and then we're back to where we started.
Layoff are also beginning! That's not counting ones who will be out of a job when the business closes!!!
Prepare for fewer workers and more automation. Fast food places will be big vending machines.
Fast food is fine dining now!
Isn't that discrimination? You only target fast food? I'll file a law suit based solely on that.😊
All this means is more people will actually lose their jobs.
FGN AND FJB !
Maybe lower the cost of inflation and you wouldnt have to do this.
Good bye to small businesses
Now glippin burguers pay more than driving that towtruck
During the slow hours, We only need a few employees.. So as soon as it gets slow after lunch rush... 2/3 of staff will be sent home! Dinner Rush too, as soon as its over and we get caught up... I'm going to be sending most the staff home! Thats per my District manager... But i agree with him!
let the job cuts and the price hikes begin
can all the illegals use their EBT cards and these places?
