How to make OVER 900hp RELIABLY with your S55 BMW F8X.

- Phil Wurz, the brains behind the BimmerWorld F82 M4 GTMore project, sits down and chats about the choices he made while aiming for a serious amount of horsepower, but with reliability as the most important factor. It's no secret you can make BIG horsepower on these S55 engines and many would laugh at us making a big deal of only 900hp, but this isn't a street car - this isn't a drag car - this isn't a dyno queen. The GTMore was built to be run for 20, 30, 45min sessions on a road course and not meltdown or send a piece of the engine into orbit.
We aren't here to claim to make the most, but we ARE telling you this is a great equation for reliable power and we PROVED it through countless events in 2023. Check out the entire GTMore Playlist of videos to really get an idea of how hard we pushed this car at countless events including driving it over 3,500 miles to a class win during One Lap of America or taking a win at Gridlife in BRUTALLY hot summer temps at Road America.
The GTMore is now for sale as we have already made moves towards our latest and greatest project(s) for 2024. Interested in discussing more on this? Check out the listing and then reach out to us directly and maybe this 900hp, Porsche GT3 killer can be in your garage! CLICK: bit.ly/GTMoreF...

As an F80 owner, I am so thankful this build and series exists. Looking forward to more content on the GTmore
I was always under the impression S55s had fully forged pistons stock 😳
I want to do this but single turbo calling my name
Awesome video 🤙
Review the suspension?
Check out the entire playlist devoted to this car. We cover a LOT. Here is one of a few suspension related videos: ua-cam.com/video/42fdNYWoP0A/v-deo.html

Keep up the great content fellas! 🤙
Totally Rockstar!
Nice build. Sounds like my list except I did the LPFP for E85, Wagner TMIC and was too cheap to do a built motor but who knows… maybe one day 😅
Amazing put together video, hitting every major point of the S55! Can’t wait to see what you guys have in store 🔥
how much would something like this cost
Was the MHI turbo plan based off of the full race turbo?
The MHI project was outside of the Full Race package. As we understood it from MHI, the Full Race wasn't actually an MHI produced package, but was using some MHI partners to help create their system. This was to be a 100% MHI produced system and utilized a bit different compressor and turbine sizes (larger) but alas, MHI decided they did not have the capacity to move forward with the project.
I’m sure MHI have produced a stage 1 700bhp turbo for the s55, why not go for these?
Promo sm 🙄
Good job
What ring gap did u use?
We went with .023" which was chosen with the guidance of Mahle for their big power/race application.
How much more oil can you put in it with the sensor&spacer?
Also, how much power would you expect to be able to push on 98 octane
It allows you to add an extra 3/4 liter of oil to your system. Hard to really draw a hardline on power output by octane. Each tuner may have a different answer here and it certainly depends on how you drive the car. Even with good gas you'd want to run a more conservative tune and power level if you are tracking the car like we are in the GTMore. But for the street you could certainly be a little more aggressive with boost levels since tremendous heat soak won't be nearly as big of an issue with short bursts.

lol thats not close to 800 wheel on 93. shits maybe 650. that stock low presure pump cant handle over 600...
We didn't say 800 on 93oct, we said said gasoline, meaning not e85 or ethanol fuel. We made 807whp SAE on our Dynojet on VP Racing 110. With this fuel we did not have any fuel pressure issues from the LPFP. If we did, we would have upgraded it. We upgraded every other piece of this car, its not like we were going to skimp on something else it needed, just never became necessary on 93/104/110oct
