Better to be a disoriented slug than a squished slug. But then again maybe not, I don't know, I've never been a slug so difficult to say for sure. Hmmm, I know I'd rather be a squished human than to have a bad case of dementia so maybe the slug would rather be squished too. I'm thinking about this way too much now damnit! Thanks for the fun ride guys, I love these kind of videos. My heart skipped a couple times when I thought for sure we were going into a tree.
"its kinda scary getting into these sections without know what I am getting into" Once you did you huge drop, I was like wow. You must really trust the guy in front to hit it all blind. plus it is testament to skill... maybe channel should be call skills of Phill. For the record, there a second or two where I was in aww watching.
Nice! He's mentioned a couple of times in conversation that he feels like he's found the place where the channel has morphed into, and I 100% agree with your assessment that it's really more about "Skills of Phil" now, because there are SO MANY "how to" videos out there now. But...gotta also remember that Phil was one of the pioneers of UA-cam "how to" mountain bike skills development as well, which is super cool. Maybe Phil can comment, but I bet his subscriber numbers jumped dramatically when he did the first Walmart bike on DH trail video (Don't recall the actual name of it). EVERYONE watched that!! Sometimes it's just a matter of persistence until you hit that "right place, right time, right content" moment. My channel never found that. LOL I think in the POV world, Phil and Nate Hills are the POV kings. Other great channels have POV mixed in with different entertainment value, but for pure POV trail footage, theirs stand out to me.
@@willbros1499 I haven't completely stopped doing tutorials. When I started on UA-cam there was a void of decent tutorials, so that's what I started doing. I felt like I could explain things in a way that would click better for some people. These days though, there's no shortage of great tutorials out there. On a personal level I can only do so many tutorials before I feel like a broken record, but when I have something new to say, I'll update those videos :) I did see a big subscriber jump with the Walmart video, but I also found that the influx wasn't a healthy. Even now I still get a lot of toxic comments on it and I vowed that I didn't really want another "viral" video. I'd rather fall a bit under the radar and grow a bit slower. That video was also a bit performative, and very "UA-camy" which feels a little off brand these days. I try to keep things a bit more down to earth and chill. Here's a fun fact, I was racing the Downhill race that same weekend and took that bike up as my podium bike. @@SkillsWithPhil …That is awesome man!! You were the first to do that and why you would get toxic comments about that…makes no sense. And your “how to” videos, are as good as any out there. So, everyone else has been here to Bentonville…when are you coming??
Again.... Loving the island representation, on your channel. These trails are long time personal favorites. They are literally some of the best trail networks, on the planet. You make them look easy. Well done!
I live in cowichan area so I ride these trails close to 3-5 times a week and they are amazing. So big shout out to ctss (cowichan trail stewardship society) who built these trails! Maple mt next?
Just ripping. Not much else to say. Two in row now of pure adrenaline. LOVE IT!! I cannot believe you can ride your bike down trails you've never seen before, and hit features that big, even if you are behind someone. Talk about trusting the trail builders!!! :-) Keep posting these please...it's "must watch" UA-cam!!
When you get back to the bc lower mainland (Vancouver area) and have a couple days check out Burke, cypress, Seymour, woodlot, thornhill, sumas mountains.
I brought those and my impact pros with me. I wore the etnies most of this trip and I still stand by what i said in the shoe video. Still my go to shoe but I'm also trying out others here and there.
I find crazy how you hit ever feature on a trail when you hit it blind because I would stop at each one stare at it for 10 minutes then probably not do it
If you are still in bc ledgeview (jordan boostmasters local trails) has a new sick slopestyle trail. Similar to those bmx style jumps you were mentioning in your last video as well da plow and other great trails. Should check them out
Usually when Phil is following someone, it's easy to tell that he's having to hold back... not on these runs. That was exciting!

Me: Wow, they're really hauling.
Phil, two seconds later: Max is hauling butt down this.

Your videos never disappoint.
Loam Line looks like a blast! Can't wait make it to BC someday and ride. Gotta a lot of learning to do first.
You are the best blind rider I’ve ever seen
Phil, you ride at a speed that is scary, but also thrilling!
Love the start, has more expensive bikes than cars
Good video buddy, and waaay better rendering aswell :)
Place looks like a blast
Another great video man 🤘
6:50 “kinda scary” proceeds to go exactly the same speed/ faster than if he wasn’t scared 😆
Check out cumberland Phil. It's just a little down the highway from here.

All I can say is repeat Phil's words: that was sick🤘😁

Been a while since I have enjoyed a pov video as much as this one
You should ride Stone Starlet or BCPOVs trail
The trails there look sick
Hey Phil! Awsome video! BTW, any updates on your new Etnies Culvert Mid?
I brought those and my impact pros with me. I wore the etnies most of this trip and I still stand by what i said in the shoe video. Still my go to shoe but I'm also trying out others here and there.

You can tell how well Phil's suspension is set up.
That Forbidden dreadnaught 😍
I live on Vancouver island I love it here
They’d have to pull me out of there on a stretcher if I attempted that trail! Loam tactic!!
Phill you should do a ride with "dangerous dave" he said he would love to Ride with ya if yalls paths crossed
Sweet nice👍🤘
Pronounced prov-o awesome vid Phil

That looks like what mountain biking in Heaven must be!
I love how non-Canadians talk about Canada

He didn’t but I will
That is a small slug. Go to the west side of the island.
