Jeffery, I just ate the best burger we have ever made at home. We did our cast iron pan on the grill (I hate cleaning the stove). It was cooked perfectly 4min per side here and it was juicy and slightly pink in the center PERFECT! Thank you so much for sharing. We have been watching your videos for about 2 years now and I have learnt a lot about cast iron, my mother would have been so proud . She told me many years ago to use cast iron and I thought I needed the modern nonstick pans boy was I wrong. Mom's always know best. Thank you, keep the videos coming, wish you were my neighbor.
Good recipe. If you're shooting for well-done (cooked through) fry 3-min on each side and then baste in butter for 2-min each side. May need to drop the heat when you baste so you don't burn the butter. I use garlic powder instead of garlic clove for the baste. Always a tasty, juicy burger.
i prefer to season the burger when making the paté , i like to use garlic paste and english mustard to give it a kick and some chilli flakes ,course tri colour pepper, couscous is also an excellent filler/absorbent of the juices while cooking and isnt as grainy or gritty as breadcrumbs and more absorbent :)
Have never made a homemade burger, but I see great tips just in this clip. Heat the iron cast FIRST then add oil and don't use so much grease! 2 mistakes I was about to make!!!! So glad I checked your page for tips first! Lol
I love how your video is just to the point and simple. Gordon Ramsey would have a 20 min talk about it, and yours would be better. Nice job, and it’s helpful. Thanks
Great video! I like how you just got to makin that fancy burger without a bunch of extra talking and fluff added in. I made burgers tonight using your method, and they were fantastic! Thank you.
Welcome back prince Jeff. Great short video. You are a genius, you served it on a cast iron griddle that was placed on the fire as you were building the sandwich. I also loved the two-step cheese addition. You deserve a show on food network.
Just tried it, amazing. Had to cook it a bit longer than specified though, my hamburger was still bloody. All in all though, best burger I've ever had.
Try 2 minutes a side. Then rest the burger for 5 minutes. Turn the heat down a little add your butter and garlic. Try adding chalets rosemary and thyme. Then put the burger back in the pan and butter baste it again. You don't regret it. That's how I do my steaks. I wanna try it on a burger soon
Beautiful. I've been making ground brisket burgers 2 at a time in a Lodge skillet with a grease splatter screen over it to reduce the splashing. I will try the butter and garlic baste next time.
I’ve cooked burger so many different ways and this really is the best way Cast iron Little oil first You don’t want to cook with the butter merely add that for flavor Thin the burger out a little so it gets a good sear Don’t overcook it Potato bun heated up on same cast iron Melt the cheese
Came home from the gym and wanted to eat a burger. I have no ground beef. I guess this video and cottage cheese will do lol. I feel like a thin steak would cook well with this method,
non yobussiness yeah I'm pretty sure that is how you cook steak on a skillett ripping hot seat both sides which leaves it pink in the middle.and of course the basting
What a cool way to bond with your son. Blessings to you both 🌟
Speechless....
That's not cooking...That's art in motion!

CAST IRON IS ALIVE!! I'm honestly full of happiness now that I've seen this.. I missed you brother. I hope that your life has treated you well.. And you know what? I loved your older format, explaining all the things.. But this? Hands off, just doing a thing.. I like it too.. This almost feels like a Smash Burger© but it isn't.. It's you and your love for cooking, and the love you have for your family. Perfect mix of life and knowledge.. Please, never stop sharing.
Glad to see you're still around, was disappointed when the updates dropped off. Hope everything is well!
