This was incredibly useful and I appreciate their honesty about the clay bar and needing to trash it after only doing about half of a car or less. I will stick to clay bars once my car that is 13 years old gets its first clay. What I think is a shame and pretty criminal is that when I was taking my car in to get waxed they never told me that it needed to be decontaminated. They would just slap the wax over all the crap that was on my car and I never had time to stop and study the proper detailing procedures so I never knew what was supposed to be done. I just figured when I took my car in for a wax they were doing what needed to be done. I'm sticking to doing all my own work until I can't physically do it anymore in my old age. Thanks guys! Also if you could give me your opinion on whether your strip wash would be a good place to start and what compound and polish I should use. Need to get going on this relatively soon and am searching for what to buy. Thanks!

    Great info guys .
What grade of clay should I use on a car the it’s been parking outside all the time sometimes is windy and sometime is Dusty and it’s never been under trees

Hi Juan, how old is the car and has it ever been clayed before? I would recommend Visco Clay or the Medium Grade Clay if it is always parked outside. Wash the vehicle, dry it, and then carefully feel the paint. If it feels rough or if you hear audio from your palm and fingers like it sounds like sandpaper, then I would go with Visco or Medium Grade. If it doesn't feel too bad, then you could use Fine Grade or the Clay Mitt.

Do you clay before or after wash? I have a car that is not driven as often as before and always washed (no wax, only H2O G&G)

Definitely after. Detailing-clay removes contaminants left behind from washing.

Got plenty of viscous clay from you guys but need the clay molder. I will try the mitt and see what works best. The bug remover spray is excellent with a little effort. I take the wheels off and clay and polish then ceramic coat them. I coat the calipers as well. I have used all of your products and love them.People see me wearing your shirts and hoodies in the winter. They are like wow you are wearing a sausage shirt 🤷🏼‍♂️I said read it again and oh Polish.Adam do you read these comments 🤷🏼‍♂️🤔Well if you do then send me something to know you do. I think you can figure out where I reside. I order multiple times every two weeks.🇺🇸💎

Is the fine grade clay bar suitable to maintain a ceramic coated car? Thanks.

Great question, and yes, our Fine Grade Clay is our preferred clay decontamination for a vehicle that has a ceramic coating, since the Fine Grade Clay is our softest, least aggressive clay option, meaning it has the lowest chance of introducing any marring into the coating. Make sure you stretch, fold, and flatten the clay often to have new clean work areas to minimize the chance of any light damage to the ceramic coating. Our Detail Spray is our preferred clay lubricant to use with it 👍

My broke ass just uses my son’s Legos to make an impression in my clay and then clay by hand… you should see the impressions it leaves in my foot at 3am!

So now I know why I get that transfer from a clay mit. The temperature of the paint!
