Tusk gear is fantastic. I'm amazed at the amount of functionality and durability they manage to achieve for such low retail prices. It's stuff like this luggage set that makes ADV riding accessible to people financially. I've been putting my Pilot Bags from Tusk through the ringer this season and they've been rock solid so far. Love the stories too brother. Cheers from PEI.
When I seen this video, and then seen it was you, I was like, "What he is running the reckless Mosko Moto" What a great video sir. I wont give it away, but I have something similar I have added to my new KLR. (Back in the saddle if you will, I was gone too long, longer than I had hoped, But back now sir.) Anyhow, Another great video. I am looking forward to hearing more about this luggage and how well your buddy likes it. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed week. PS, the set I have which is similar, The straps on mine were not to my licking, so I have made some adjustments and changed some of my straps. I will show that in my video with what we got when I do it. Thanks again for sharing and keep up the fun videos. dale
I am not new to riding, but am new to adv style riding and so glad I found your channel! Nice review of this gear. Love your channel and especially the fact it is local to us here in Ontario. I am working my way through your riding videos as I look for places to ride and improve my skills. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
I've bought several Tusk products over the years. They have unbeatable quality for the price. They are great to deal with and the shipping is surprisingly fast too.
Love your videos i just got a bag last week. 40$ its a Nelson rigg. Love it. Your bike 33000km not bad i have 49000km still runs well. Have a nice Sunday
I've been using my highland reckless system for a couple of years now. Works awesome from banging around the mountains in Colorado. Super tough. Do wish there was some adjustability in the angle of the holsters. Other than that I think they are the value on the market
This rackless is very good i have the exact one on my Klr650-2022. It even goes right over my existing rear racks if i want to. I love the beaver tail. Riv nut ! hehe
Thx for sharing, Mason. Looks like a good system. Having the the molle bags incl is a nice touch. Look fwd to DV’s and your thoughts on these in the coming days. Enjoy your Sunday as well. 👍🏽
First Aid/Trauma kit is a must. And find a way to mark it with a red cross identifying that an emergency kit is in there in case you go down and someone comes up on you without a kit, finding yours may save your life.
@@masonsadv need to pack it right , it's wider than the rack platform, so it may sag, the nice thing about it is that it has a an air bleeder valve to you can get the air out of it while you're tightening it down
I'm looking forward to a long term review on these bags. I have a set of Nelson Rigg bags that are ok, not great, but ok, that will need to be replaced in the next year or so and I was looking at these as an option.
I sold my KLR this year and got the new Aprilia Tuareg. I would love to put the Tusk soft luggage on, but as of yet, there are no luggage racks by RMATV, or anyone else for that matter. I hope Tusk racks are coming soon, I need to get out camping.
Me gustaría saber tu opinión después de un año ? Si las has usado muchas veces ? Me preocupa que al montarlas oculten las barras del asiento que sirve para levantar la moto !! Me podrías comentar algo ?! Saludos desde Mexico
Curious, I am in Ontario as well. How come you’re not getting it from oh W. I’m pretty sure it’s cheaper. Anytime I went on Rocky Mountain website I would have to pay duty charges and then it seems like you’re not saving any more:(
You know, it just might... DV has the same box and i think the way its set up in the video it only covers half the plate. It would be interesting to see how the rear mounting straps would work. You certainly will loose more seat area.
Would be interesting to know, if these Tusk are made in the same country and even same manufacturer, as the Mosko Moto’s. The price of the Tusk’s are very competitive and appear to be very robust.
Tusk seems to be killing it with luggage. You can pick up rack and 2 hard panniers for $500 and guys say they are indestructible. I’m potentially waiting for Mosko to get in stock that woodland color Great video. I also have taken your advice and have put my order in for a rear cogent shock, I can’t wait to get that bad boy installed
Oh, nice. So many luggage options now that i can hardly keep up ;) I think you will be impressed with the cogent products 👍 its a game changer on the KLR
I've got an 18 crf250l with the Tusk 27 liter hard bags and I haul everything with that bike. I forgot to latch a lid once and it got run over on a gravel road by a car. 2 mins with a body hammer and it was good as new. If something has a zipper I guarantee I'm gonna overstuff it and ruin the zipper. Have several Tusk items and can't beat the value.
The immediate downfall that I see, is without pannier racks underneath, you're going to wear your side panel Plastics very heavily in no time at all. I have the same camo package on my KLR, and the graphics show nicks from things as simple as flying pea gravel rocks.
Yes, all the rackless systems rub. I have grip pads under mine but it also is a well used machine so another scrub doesnt really show ;) Shooter used mylar on the rub points on the Tiger 900 and that helped.

Totally agree! Good gear for a reasonable price and it makes it possible to get setup and out the door 👍
Love my tusk bags. But the real star of the video is the tusk chair!
Thanks Mason. Just installed my set today. You had some good tips to make it go pretty smooth.

Good to hear! I have been impressed with the quality of the items I've tried on the klr.
Looks like it might work out pretty well!! Looking forward to a follow-up video with your longer term feedback!!

Awesome! Always cool to find a great piece of gear :)

That’s a really nice set of soft luggage. 👍

Awesome! And thanks ;)
Thank you for that initial review. I’ve been looking towards those for my ride.
Awesome, glad to help :)

Cheers Coach. I think he likes the system so far. Several office runs and grocery trips under his belt now ;)

Yes, thats a "must have" in my pack out.
Helpful Vid. I have a 22 KLR and haven't decided yet on an ultimate luggage sys. I may go for the Tusk side bag sys.
Been a fan of tusk for a bit, the 40l dry duffle is my go-to for trips
Nice. Looks like a good duffle for a top bag too.

Very nice bags Mason, I like them.
thank you very much Mason I've been trying to decide to pull the trigger on these thanks for the video
Hi Mike. First impressions are good and the price seems reasonable for the build quality. Cheers!

I like your videos I wish you made more . As budget minded people the tusk bags would be the best things to run on your adv
Thanks Aaron. I truely wish i had more time ;)
i wonder if you are going to publish a follow up after 1 year of usage? :-) That would be awesome.
Looks great. Wondering if too big for my Honda 300L. Smaller version looks tiny for moto camping in Ontario
I have the Tusk pilot panniers. I think the quality is excellent. Best quality for the money. I also own Mosko Moto gear to compare it to.
Good to hear! I love my Mosko gear but i also purchased it before the last price jump. The lower cost of the highland makes it a great option. 👍

Great video, just what I've been looking for. Awesome, thanks!
Cheers!
Which TUSK rear carrier plate is on this bike? I cannot install my Highland system on the 24 KLR OEM plate.

Good morning, great review. I love the Tusk gear. I have an Eagle Mike extra large rear rack. How do you think they would fit with it? Thanks.
Morning Steve! Good question. Im not positive but i think they will conform to almost any size rack. Keep me posted if you try it. Cheers.
Great video thank you. I'm wounding I have a givi top box will that go far enough forward to leave the top box on .thanks again cheers to ya.
You know, it just might... DV has the same box and i think the way its set up in the video it only covers half the plate. It would be interesting to see how the rear mounting straps would work. You certainly will loose more seat area.
Can this be set up to still fit a pillion?
How did the Highland X2 hold up over the summer?
thanks for the vid, are they stickers of plastics on the bike? I want camo.... I need camo hahaha

I’m curious to hear how these compare to the Mosko Moto rackless system. Much cheaper for the Tusk system for sure
has anyone run the tusk highland system along with a hard top box? would it sit too far forward?
it looks great to sit on the bike but looks like it would be hard to take off easily
Nice piece of kit! Congrats! Is there an option for shipping inside Canada by chance?
Yes they do shipping to Canada
👍👍👏
