Thing is that not every level will be played by everyone, and I'm sure that most demons have been watched more than they have been played, making deco more crucial most of the audience. Deco also defines a level's memorability.

Honestly the Riot not being the best player reply is somewhat true. There’s a very high chance Krmal was better than Riot since he verified Phobos on 60hz without spending that many more attempts than it took Riot to beat Bloodbath but you can’t be sure because the skillset back then was more akward unbalanced gp based than timing or ship based which is why Bloodbath was considered harder than Phobos.
Thinking about it though Phobos is more accessible on 60hz though I still think it’s harder, the gameplay is more forgiving on lower refresh rate than monke fly and tight ball timings constantly
But yes krmal was really ahead of his time and would’ve been known as the best player. People have these phases where a new hardest comes out and they refuse anything new to come out can be harder (think bloodbath, AA, sonic wave, zodiac and sakupen circles) and he’s a victim of that since Phobos was under bloodbath for multiple years

I think the comment was more referring to Riot in 2015, not 2016 when KrmaL starting getting huge. Riot is deemed unquestionably the #1 player of the 1.9 era because everyone who rivaled him were outed as cheaters later on leaving only him with his crazy feats for the time. But considering he was basically the only 144hz player back then, he kinda had his own cheat even if it was completely legal. He had a huge advantage on the competition and if more players had 144hz monitors back then he would've been more rivaled. You can still make the argument no 60hz player matched his skill when adjusted for monitor difference though since beating BB on 144 could be viewed as better than Cata on 60.

i think easier levels should have better decroation , cuz more people can enjoy it and the easier difficulty leaves less possibility for better gameplay anyway , but harder levels should have gameplay be more important cuz it will be harder to enjoy the decoration while playing and u gonna want to have something fun if u doing an extreme

I definitely agree with gameplay being better than decoration. Ricky Hawkyard is the embodiment of making fantastic gameplay. Even when there's like minimalistic decoration in there, his gameplay is the best and you sort of *feel* the theme. I mean, look at his Raise The Black Flag & Space Invaders layouts. Those are absolute bangers.

Since I don't have Twitter, this is how I trigger the GD Community: Thinking Space is a good, well thought out level with a theme and good deco. Also, I agree with Lake. I'm trying to unlock them all legitimately, and the CP UFO is the hardest icon to get right now.
Ikr in 1.9 and 2.0 it was kinda easy to get a level star rated and the hardest achievement to get was a user coin one, but holy cow 6 to 7 years have passed and to get a rated level, you gotta spam decoration and glow or else it will be judged "empty" (more than 40000 objects or die)
I have something about me that I say certain things without the intent of it being taken out of context, I’m still practicing my communication skills, but what I meant is that I’m not really meant to like get a demon grinder type skill. I kinda do things differently. When I’m playing east levels around my skill, looking at the icons and the way it flows through the level is just so satisfying. If you have a problem with this and you wanna try to complain, you can go fuck urself bc I’m not doing nothing to you, I’m just having fun lol. That’s the point of games, there may be goals to how to properly play the game, but he never had a problem with playing it our own way and being ourselves.
I don’t care what other people think, acu should be an insane demon as it forces players to actually beat a level considered an extreme demon. Acu is just that one level that people can say “I beat an extreme demon!” despite the level being a very easy extreme demon. And the thing is, is that even if Acu dropped to insane demon, it’s not like it’s the hardest insane demon either. In fact, it’s probably in between hard insane demons and easy insane demons in difficulty. What I think is that really easy extreme demons should be dropped to insane demons, so that people can beat extreme demons that people consider to be extreme demons. I think that the first extreme demon that people should beat should be in between extreme demons and slightly easy extreme demons.

The reason people want rates so much is that you can easily find out about it without knowing it exists, thus giving the creator more likes/downloads to make them feel better about themselves. ALSO the players feel more obligated to play it for the stars.

On the topic of mirror portals I personally really enjoy them and they make parts of the level feel unique, when it’s left to right the whole time sometimes the level just kind of blends and it’s more forgettable
Imo, Slaughterhouse shouldn't be top one... I still think Sakupen circles is harder. Nonetheless, I think that Bloodbath's atmosphere did such a better job being top one than Slaughterhouse. About the future, I think Ascension to Heaven is such an amazing atmosphere as a top one... You beat the game essentially, and you should be welcome into an amazing place for everyone to see but almost nobody to get into.

Deadlocked would be rated harder if not for the first wave and dual wave, Geometrical Dominator has that shitty unreadable block section and like 900 bugs, all the 1.0 levels play the exact same... The Robtop levels are not that good.
I don't have Twitter, so here's mine: the game was actually better before its release on steam and the release of version 1.9 (they were about a month apart) because the playing field was more level and anyone who had the skill could beat the hardest levels without being held back by technological limitations
"Top #1" levels suck tbh. There will also never be a true Top #1, there will always be people trying to one-up each other. These levels are hard for the sake of being hard, and, to me, are not good. These levels sacrifice good and fun gameplay for extremely hard jumps and straight fly. All they do is make new players shy away from GD because all they see is really hard extreme demons being played and never any hard or insane levels, heck, normal and easy levels are pretty much non-existent, or at least not as popular as demon levels. GD is not as fun as it used to be.

What I meant with, "hard for the sake of being hard", is that nowadays a lot of really hard levels use the same generic things to make the level hard without using something original. Straight fly or wave spam are such examples of this. Difficulty isn't just about spam or really tight spaces, it's about reaction time and knowing what to do at the right time. Btw I'm not saying all top 1's use these things to make their levels harder, I'm just saying the majority of them use it just to make it seem harder than it really is. 2.I never said people don't make lower difficulty levels anymore, not at all. What I meant was that lower difficulty levels being are not as popular anymore and are left unknown, you really don't see these types of levels get recognition as much as demons do. Sure these levels do get popular sometimes if made by a decent and recognized creator, but have you seen an easy, normal, or hard level get showcased recently or even at all? Again, I'm not saying they don't get popular, just saying that these levels are few and far between.

(Satire) Thinking Space is undoubtedly the best level to ever be rated. It has a unique take on gameplay (look at the 68 wave), charming decoration, and a great song on top of that. We should all praise Thinking Space, because one day we’re gonna look back, and feel nostalgic for a level people thought was shit, but was actually in all reality a revolution in this game.
honestly i don't really care about decor, don't even care how it looks, but it's more about the experience it gives and the experience is related to decor because it gives a theme to the level, but that's still not everything, there's still sync, flow, balance and other stuff that affect it if a level just feels bland like everything else, what's even the point?
Absolutely agree with the riot pick, when I played in 60hz I sucked at the game and I could only beat easy/medium demons, once I got my 144hz monitor y instantly went to beat extremes with no difficulty, I also beat bloodbath with only 1/4 of the attempts that Riot had so yeah it makes sense

Here are my best takes: Swiborg, LordVaderCraft, and Wolvez are better than 2020 nSwish. Levels that look good have bad gp. Krmal, Riot, and Stormfly make awful levels. Half of this community is made up of a bunch of toxic nerds who paint their fingernails black and scream the F-word every 3 seconds. Nc levels are the most fun levels in the game. Temp is one of the best creators ever. RobTop is a lazy developer who's bad at his own game and makes his community wait 5+ years for an update that will never come out. No-one in this community is intelligent enough to know what the word "cracked" actually means. Slaughterhouse is the best hell themed level of all time.

Ricky Hawkyard is the embodiment of making fantastic gameplay. Even when there's like minimalistic decoration in there, his gameplay is the best and you sort of *feel* the theme. I mean, look at his Raise The Black Flag & Space Invaders layouts. Those are absolute bangers.

I have something about me that I say certain things without the intent of it being taken out of context, I’m still practicing my communication skills, but what I meant is that I’m not really meant to like get a demon grinder type skill. I kinda do things differently. When I’m playing east levels around my skill, looking at the icons and the way it flows through the level is just so satisfying. If you have a problem with this and you wanna try to complain, you can go fuck urself bc I’m not doing nothing to you, I’m just having fun lol. That’s the point of games, there may be goals to how to properly play the game, but he never had a problem with playing it our own way and being ourselves.
I don’t care what other people think, acu should be an insane demon as it forces players to actually beat a level considered an extreme demon. Acu is just that one level that people can say “I beat an extreme demon!” despite the level being a very easy extreme demon. And the thing is, is that even if Acu dropped to insane demon, it’s not like it’s the hardest insane demon either. In fact, it’s probably in between hard insane demons and easy insane demons in difficulty. What I think is that really easy extreme demons should be dropped to insane demons, so that people can beat extreme demons that people consider to be extreme demons. I think that the first extreme demon that people should beat should be in between extreme demons and slightly easy extreme demons.

The reason people want rates so much is that you can easily find out about it without knowing it exists, thus giving the creator more likes/downloads to make them feel better about themselves. ALSO the players feel more obligated to play it for the stars.

Imo, Slaughterhouse shouldn't be top one... I still think Sakupen circles is harder. Nonetheless, I think that Bloodbath's atmosphere did such a better job being top one than Slaughterhouse. About the future, I think Ascension to Heaven is such an amazing atmosphere as a top one... I don't have Twitter, so here's mine: the game was actually better before its release on steam and the release of version 1.9 (they were about a month apart) because the playing field was more level and anyone who had the skill could beat the hardest levels without being held back by technological limitations
I actually agree with that. It's annoying that I can't beat difficult levels or play bepis because I don't have a computer.
"Top #1" levels suck tbh. There will also never be a true Top #1, there will always be people trying to one-up each other. These levels are hard for the sake of being hard, and, to me, are not good. These levels sacrifice good and fun gameplay for extremely hard jumps and straight fly. All they do is make new players shy away from GD because all they see is really hard extreme demons being played and never any hard or insane levels, heck, normal and easy levels are pretty much non-existent, or at least not as popular as demon levels. GD is not as fun as it used to be.
At what point does a level start being "hard for the sake of hard"??
Also half of the actual good creators in gd don't make extremes so I don't get that last statement
@@marcxworld5708 Sorry, I think I didn't elaborate enough with what I said earlier, I kinda just rambled on and on but let me explain these two things:
1. What I meant with, "hard for the sake of being hard", is that nowadays a lot of really hard levels use the same generic things to make the level hard without using something original. Straight fly or wave spam are such examples of this. Difficulty isn't just about spam or really tight spaces, it's about reaction time and knowing what to do at the right time. Btw I'm not saying all top 1's use these things to make their levels harder, I'm just saying the majority of them use it just to make it seem harder than it really is.
2.I never said people don't make lower difficulty levels anymore, not at all. What I meant was that lower difficulty levels being are not as popular anymore and are left unknown, you really don't see these types of levels get recognition as much as demons do. Sure these levels do get popular sometimes if made by a decent and recognized creator, but have you seen an easy, normal, or hard level get showcased recently or even at all? Again, I'm not saying they don't get popular, just saying that these levels are few and far between.

Surely it can't be the difficulty or gameplay for obvious reasons. I mean, yeah, sometimes easier levels have less than stellar gameplay, but the creativity and thought put into the level is what makes up for it, which is something that some extreme demon levels can't really say. Does mid refer to their repetitive and generic designs? I mean I could argue the same about demons, since, you know, that's kinda what I was going for to begin with. I mean damn, name a few genuinely good and groundbreaking "top 1" extreme demons that are original and have new mechanics that actually make the level hard. Yeah I know there are some actually good ones out there, but now try to mention easier levels like this and I guarantee you'll find a lot more of them.

(Satire) Thinking Space is undoubtedly the best level to ever be rated. It has a unique take on gameplay (look at the 68 wave), charming decoration, and a great song on top of that. We should all praise Thinking Space, because one day we’re gonna look back, and feel nostalgic for a level people thought was shit, but was actually in all reality a revolution in this game.

-nine circles is a good trend if done correctly

-pretty soon no one will care about refresh rate since in 2.2 every pc player can just switch using ingame fps bypass
-at the speed of light is a good song
-generic glow style doesnt look bad, just boring
-viprin, pauze, and sirhadoken should help rate levels so rob can work on other things
and lastly,
-2.2 has too many fucking features and makes it a whole new game and it loses the feel of normal gd
