My mum used to play this so well he's the only other person I've heard play it with the emotion that my mum did. I think we will play this version at her funeral as she sadly passed away on the 31 July 2020💜
Una Aurora that is so sad to hear 😭. I hope you and your family are all well and okay. Don’t worry too much, and that will help you settle your mind a little bit. Wink wink 😉
That is the best i have heard this song being performed. Usually people play it too fast and strong, this is soft and delicate..the way it should be. Truely enjoyable!
I disagree. Fur Elise is meant to be about agony, misery, despondency, and total hopelessness, mixed with short outbursts of fleeting joy. It's meant to be played forcefully.
Ah it's interesting because I personally prefer it being played faster but of course you're free to have a different opinion since music is very subjective!
@@ubermensch4304 open to interpretation but I love playing the final rondo and final sections in agony and anger. i think it fits the storyline really well but before those points it should be played with joy and bliss
As a child I would hear one of my sisters playing Fur Elise on our parlour piano. It always takes me back to those lost days, when it was getting dark outside, and my mother was preparing dinner in the kitchen. I hope I am listening to Lang Lang playing it before I enter eternity.
That's why he sounds so much better than others. they play technically correct and some are quite good - but not as good. his piano also has a superb sound.
He interpret this piece with near to perfect playing, no nonsense classical romantic style of playing, rich intonation but not too rich, no exaggeration, 95% marks for him.
Hailey Bosko Lang Lang is commonly known for bending rhythms slightly which people don’t admire meaning it would be impossible for home to get 100. Im not saying this as my opinion but as mosts
@@harishanthevalingam8768 yes. that is one of the main reason 100% not given. When you play a classical piece, it must be interpret with strictness on how the piece is play at that point of time (CLASSICAL ERA). Not many interpret well, only a few like Vladimir Horowitz and Michiko Uchida interpret well. These two are the most versatile pianist.
This performance and Valentina Lisitsa’s both show how this piece is supposed to be played im much slower tempo then everyone else is playing. The piece sounds completely different in this tempo. Thank you for this amazing video!
Perfectly gorgeous emmotional movement with just the perfect dynamics with reflective rubato for beautiful sonorous tones of sheer, listening of pearly delight!
Wow! This is the most beautiful version that I’ve ever heard. I didn’t know that it could be played so movingly and sentimentally. I am sure Beethoven would love it and find it “just” for the reason he wrote the piece. And, I didn’t know Lang Lang can play without impressing the audience the dexterity of his fingers. Bravo👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It is so nice to see how his playing matures so much since his younger years. Any professional can play La Campanella, but it’s when they play pieces simple like Fur Elise you know he’s becoming a master.
It’s called expanding an audience. Because he knows the general crowd will just eat up für elise because they think it is just the best piece ever written
This is my favorite work by Beethoven. Not only is it so beautiful, but it also helped me memorize the order of the planets from the sun in the solar system. In one particular episode of a tv show I watched when I was younger, a song is sung to the tune of this work that teaches the order of the planets from the sun, including Pluto even though it’s no longer a planet.
It's like he's massaging the keys and by his facial expression himself as well. Whatever works to get you into the piece I applaud. Sometimes, I play this piece naked, lathered in bacon grease. It really makes me feel prepared for anything if that makes sense.
Security would've had to remove me I'd be bawling my eyes out in the front row. This was a song my mother would play when I was a kid. She passed when I was 12. I'm 34 just took up piano after years of guitar. I learned this song for my wife whose middle name is Elise. Sometimes my eyes well up when I am playing. The first month or so my sound was very mechanical, but for the last month or so I have been able to play with emotion and its crazy how it will overwhelm you.
it is great to see a world renowned pianist play such a humble and, technically speaking, 'easy' piece. I mean I have been playing since january and I play fuer elise too, but it is great and humbling to see the interpretation of such a great musician.
I know what you mean but NO, it’s not easy to play like him. He is China’s best pianist and you can’t beat him you will need to work very hard but I understand what you mean...
My favourite quote about the great Lang Lang l found on the Classic FM website. It goes like this:- Aged 9 A music teacher said that he had no talent. Aged 31 Sold out the Royal Albert Hall in a few hours. In other words, don't give up. That's a great message to send to future generations.
I really liked the smoothness. I am practicing this song right now. My teacher told me to make it dramatic like this video and I was like " this is going to be hard . . ." He is so good!
Of course Lang Lang has to go over the top. Here we have a most sublime piece, played by a master. He has to own it. His fingers knew this song 300 years before Beethoven wrote a note of it.
Beethoven would be proud of this interpretation.
The more important is to enjoy the way he wants to tell this piece, rather than to compare who is best!
This is not an interpretation, it's the right way to play it
@Frank said anybody who has an iq above 3
@Frank you are actually dumb
And i wouldn't be surprised if you don't see why
