the most important life lesson i have learned is that: you have the free will to do what you want to do, it’s not up to anyone else to choose what you can and cannot do
One thing I learned is that it is okay to admit defeat, it's okay to admit someone is better and it is okay to admit you aren't going to be the best. Once I learned that, I was able to find happiness in everything I did because I realised that not everything is a competition and that there will always be someone better than me and that is okay.
1 life lesson I learned at 21: self-improvement to become the person you WANT to be really doesn’t matter without self-acceptance for the person you currently ARE. Loved this video so much! Thanks for sharing it with us ✨✨
I learned this year that someone else's "okay" may not be your "okay." Don't compare someone else's life with your own because you may not have the whole picture. Once I stopped comparing my failures with other peoples successes I found a freedom that I wished I had earlier on in my life. Everyone has their own pace and its completely okay to go your own pace.
A friend of mine passed away this year, he was 22. Another family friend’s dad had a heart attack during dinner and passed away as well. I can't say I was extremely close to them, but they were people that I've known for such a long time and it was so out of the blue. The universe can take anyone away anytime. You try to get your head around it but there are no explanations - they’re just gone. This year I learned that if there’s something you want to do, just go and do it even if you’re afraid, because fear is always better than regret. Always treasure everyone you love, and say your thanks you’s & I love you’s before it’s too late.
loss is never an easy thing, but from all the light that you've been able to extract, I'm sure your dad and friend would be incredibly proud of you. keep staying strong, keep smiling, and keep sharing your love with the world babe. sending you and your family so much love Nicole 💕
@@MollyKateMcCarthy I understand, I am still trying to be okay with so much change but eventually it will be easier. Strap yourself in and prepare for change, it is always coming.
Most important life lesson this year: Finding acceptance or validation for your self worth outside of yourself will always fall short, and disappoint. The love we receive from others is beautiful, and can hold us in difficult times. At the end of the day though, your self worth/self love needs to come from an internal source so that you are not dependent on the outside/external world.
What I always think is important is: It's okay to change, it's okay if it was a phase, people won't jugde you and don't be so hard on yourself, take your time and do whatever makes you happy
The most important lesson I learned is to accept how you feel in the moment and reflect on it instead of beating yourself up for how you feel. It’s part of who you are and you need to accept yourself and how you react now to start to change and improve that part of yourself.
Turning 23, and the life lesson I learnt this year is to stop using human flesh as temporary bandaids. No not a murderer. I noticed my tendency to be hurt by the ending of a relationship and find the closest thing to me that gives me any sense of attention and “happiness” and slap it onto my open wound. Going forward I will stop using “human flesh” as “temporary bandaids”. Work through the pain on my own.
This year i learned to trust myself and believe in myself. Despite other people and family telling me I won't make it. I have the skills and everything to make it but I was lacking the trust in myself.
1 life lesson I learned: The only guaranteed thing to happen in our lives is that we will all get hurt. The earlier you realize and accept this, the better you will be at handling the situation since it won’t come as a surprise.
the most important thing i learned is to take care of yourself by cutting out things that don't spark joy and surround yourself with things that will. positive mindset brings in more positive things :')) happy early birthday!! and thank you so much for another amazing video
It's my birthday today and it's my 18 birthday. Here's 17 things that I've learned: 1) Be honest with yourself first about how you feel. If you keep pushing a negative feeling away it is going to make you feel deeply unhappy and you are probably going to explode with that feeling after a while. 2) Be thankful for people that you have in your life. Some of them may not be here for long. 3) Learn about yourself. Try to explore you're type of personality and learn more about it so that you can know yourself better. 4) Positive mind leads to more positive things in your life. 5) Stop complaining all the time. It does not help. Better write it all down and then forget about it. 6) No boy cares if you have acne. 7) People are more likely to want to get to know you if you just smile a bit more. 8) Every kind of whether has it's one beauty (snow, sunny, gloomy, wind etc.) 9)Ask and you shall receive. (Lol)(it's true though) 10) Don't stress over things too much. There is no use in that. 11) Do things that you love doing even if a partypooper says it's cringy or stupid. F them. 12) Your body hates when you bing eat. 13) Talk to people. Let them now you are there for them. Give them advice. Listen to them. 14) Your beauty rises when you have a positive vibe. 15) Cherish your friends. 16) Having a sibling is great. It's like the universe gave you a life long bestie. 17) Have fun. Enjoy life.
every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 point. I LOVE THIS. #2 and #4, so true. #11, yess live your best life! #16, too sweet 💕 you're a gem I hope you know. happy belated birthday my love!
One thing I learned is that you define how much effort you put in. Like I used to be so intimidated by ppl who study 24/7 but I don’t do it as much. But then my grades are just as good or better than them. Idk how to word this but quality over quantity u know.
The most important life lesson I learnt this year was to truly respect myself and my own health. Wether this means not going to that awesome party because you’re feeling kinda sick or sleeping in for a while after a though week, I’ve come to find that our body is our most permanent home on Earth and as such it deserves care and attention - or else it will not provide us the stability and strength needed to endure life.
One life lesson I learned this year was that to be able to spread genuine love and kindness to the world, you should be able to love yourself first. Basically, you tend to love the world around you because you love yourself so much that you want everything around you to be calm and peaceful and beautiful. Love really radiates from the inside.
The biggest lesson I learnt this year was to genuinely believe in good. It pushes me to believe that whatever happen to me it holds a bright side and to accept people around me as they are. Thank you for your work Rowena
I hit rock bottom last year and learned a lot from it. When you lost everything, you have nothing to be afraid of. When you are at the bottom of the ocean, the only way you can go is upward. And now I feel like I can breathe again. The last year was truly horrible, but I would not want to miss it, because I learned so much from this and know now, that I can endure even the hardest times.
I just turned 20, and at this point, the best life lesson I learned is that: If you feel like you can't give your best because you lack in resources, then you must utilize the things that you have "now." You can have those things-- but not now. Soon, someday, yes. But today, focus on what is available now, work on it, and create something from it. It's really about how you perceive and give responses to your situation that will change everything. p.s. I love you, Rowena!
I can relate. I did this too and my life is never been so great. Always surround yourself with people who help to bring out the best in you and not the beast in you. 😄😅
I can not tell you often enough how helpful your videos are. The messages you give us really changed my way of thinking and acting. You are one of the reasons I accepted that my 'best friends' were toxic friends and bad people. I am so grateful for what you teach us from deep down my heart. I am so much more happy now. Please never stop doing what you are doing. Love Segen :) (Ps: sorry for my bad English, I am from Germany)
I'm a perfeccionist (and that's not a good thing because it is really exhausting!) and what I learned this year is that you can relax! The important people of your life love you because YOU ARE YOU, not because you are the best daughter, the best friend or the best wife. I love your videos, Rowena!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the amazing work! ❤
Biggest thing I learned is that as long as I'm alive, everything else can be figured out🌻 Thank you so much for all the reminders and for constantly working hard to inspire the world❤
Hi Rowena! You said one thing, one small thing, that really helped me getting through a tough time. I'm about to make a journey, a huge one, to another country. And you know, doing that has been my biggest dream since ever, so when I got the opportunity I literally cried of joy. But the thing is, I am also terrified. Fulfilling my dream means leaving everything behind. In order to be who I really want to be, I must leave my family, friends, girlfriend, and pets. Everything that I've ever known, gone. Then I saw your video: "If you don't lose anything, you won't gain anything". That's when I realized that it's exactly the way it is supposed to be. In order to be who I want to be, I must let go of my past self. Seems silly, but that really helped me. So thank you.
It's crazy how on time this video came for me, I really don't say this a lot, but I genuinly believe the universe is pretty much yelling these things I just need to accept to move on at me right now. From the moment you started talking about letting go and acceptance and letting your fear guide you, I felt so touched and spoken to. A lot of new and scary things have been happening in my life and today especially was filled with anxiety because all of that. But this video really came as a sign to me that I just need to let go! I am crazy perfectionist and I want everything in my life to be perfect all the time but it's okay if they're not! I don't know why it took me so long to realize that sometimes the best thing to do is to stop overthinking and to just let go for once, but it's such a relief to finally know this and not just in my brain, but also in my heart. So thank you for this video! (Got a little excited there, but genuinly, this video meant a lot)
my most important lesson from this year.. "don't try to dance to someone else's song". I think you said it in a video this year and it resonated me sooo much. Thank you for that
I’m almost to my mid-20s and realized very recently that what works for others may not work for me. For example, I tried keeping a five-minute/gratitude journal and it took up too much of my time at night, pushing back my sleep schedule and making me stressed I wasn’t sleeping on time. I realized that I didn’t need that journal and just practice gratitude in my own way and it works so well for me Sometimes I try to improve all aspects of myself and my life at the same time, and then I stress myself out too much. I’m thinking through what I want my resolutions to be next year and one of them might be “cut out noise” - I want to stop overcomplicating things!! Thanks for this video, and all of your videos! Happy birthday and happy holidays :) P.S. You are GLOWING in this video!!
Something one of my professors taught me recently is that goals and dreams are two different things. Goals are plans that you make--they have to be specific and realistic. Dreams, on the other hand, don't. Your dreams can and, he encouraged, *should* be out of this world. (His dream is to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.) I've been so caught up in being "realistic" and "practical" in the last year, with college and growing up and all that, that I've been losing my ability to dream big. I felt really unmoviated and lost. But that reminder, to go with your gut and allow yourself to work hard for what may seem like the impossible, has given me hope and direction again. Thank you for making great, helpful, inspiring videos, as always. Happy birthday!!!
Things that I learnt this year: 1) trusting my intuition( it’s the best decision I have ever made) 2) getting rid of attachment(ppl or items, basically anything) just let it go ~ 3) giving without expecting anything in return 4) loving myself(including imperfections/insecurities) 5) Always strive to be my best self everyday(to avoid regret, self judgement etc) Discovered your channels this year and you inspire me in some ways haha
My most important life lesson... well one of them is think before you speak. I was always that kid that held back on saying what it was that I wanted to say. So as I got older I started to speak up. This wouldn't be an issue ,except I spoke when I really shouldn't have. So my mom one day after I spoke a little to bluntly to to "think before I speak". My blunt talk will not always be welcome not does the first thing that pop out of my mouth will be seen as anything less than ignorant. So, that's what I try to do. Understand the context of the situation and understand that not everyone will be okay with the topics discussed or the jokes. I can still say what I have to say, but give myself time to think and listen to what was actually said to me beforehand.
ahh can relate. my cousin trained me at a young age to be mindful of what I say. of course he wasn't nice about it ("THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK, STUPID" "YOU SOUND SO DUMB" lol kids) but it's stuck with me since
Lesson I learned this year. "Pray more, worry less". It has helped me a lot cause I'm the type to dwell and think of several outcomes of the situation. I just gave it to God this year and honestly has worked out for the better.
One Life Lesson I Learned This Year: Not only can you learn something from each and every person around you, but even the people you think that are super different from you still may share a common trait with you. It never really hit me until this year when I shared a conversation with a person who seemed to me to be my total opposite. Every opinion I had was discussed and disputed. It wasn't a 'fight' more so a calm debate and it was very refreshing and opened my mind.
Funnily enough my birthday is tomorrow and lessons that I've learned this year are that it's okay to not be okay sometimes, and to be open and honest with yourself so you can actually start being yourself. This year has been a challenging year for me, with my relationships and with satisfaction from work. I kept doing things for other people even when I knew it conflicted with my own values. I was in denial until a couple months ago when I moved to NYC. I started to realize that I wasn't happy at all with my life, and I need to start changing, for myself and for others to get to know the real me. I love your videos because it helps me better self-reflect on how I improve, and trust me I need to improve haha Thank you for being you and for sharing your wisdom :) happy holidays and stay happy and healthy!
hbd I love & appreciate you! 🙏🏻💕 so glad to hear you've been peeling back the layers and going back to your roots. :) it's such a dauntingly exciting and wonderful journey but it'll all be worth it!
Im in college and struggling with my emotional and mental health. It shocked me that my best in high school isn't enough for college, everyone was smart, talented and I.. I felt like I was still taking baby steps. I felt so dumb. Two things i'm applying to my life and have helped ( and still helping) me get through my 4th yr in college: 1. Effort will never betray you. 2. If something is making you scared and excited at the same time, something big is coming out of it. :)
found you through liah's vlog (i was in the SF bit) and obsessed with your videos!!! im turning 27 super soon too and this is making me feel slightly better about it 😂
one saying I’ve been trying to get in my head is ‘get over yourself’. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in all that’s in our head or all that’s happening to us in our lives. ‘Get over yourself’ reminds me that life’s isn’t all that serious and isn’t all that is. Your life isn’t just your problems in or outside ur head. It’s not always about u and u don’t have to take anything personally. there’s so much more to what you’re feeling or what you have. And you’re so insignificant (not in a bad way) if U think about all the other billions of people out there, think about how there is more than earth and outer space, think about how what’s real to us might not be what’s real. Life and everything is just a big ball of uncertainty. So...don’t think about yourself too much. Just live life as best as u can
Something that has come full circle for me this year is: good things come to those who wait; be patient. That orange eyeshadow looks beautiful on you 🧡
I turned 22 this year and one thing I learned the hard way was: do your best to be lighthearted, because lighthearted doesn't mean superficial, it just means accepting that life gives you ups and downs, that people are going to disappoint you, you are going to disappoint yourself, but in the end the sun will rise again on a brand new day, giving you the chance to let go of the negative thoughts that make you feel like a total failure and useless person; never stop trying, keep fighting for those happy moments that will eventually warm your heart.
i'm 21, i just came to the point where i found my inner child couple of days ago. now i feel so connected with myself by being a parent to my inner child :D so, 1 life lesson i learned is to be the parent she needs and deserves. creating new world where me, parent figure and the child rule.
"danger is a-comin'" lol This has really uplifted me. I woke up @4am & couldn't sleep, so pulling this up was one of the first things I did. The biggest thing I've learned this year is that listen to people tell me my strengths. My self-esteem is fine, but I lack confidence in my abilities, so listening to what others have to say about them helps me go for things I wouldn't normally go for! Let people uplift you!!!
one thing i learned is that loving yourself is the first step to success. you can't do anything, you can't find true happiness without loving and appreciating yourself because it all begins with Y O U !!
My lesson is that healing cannot and should not be neglected. Running away from trauma, or suppressing it, is only hurting you and yourself. Love yourself and accept yourself for everything you are, and all of the things you have survived and endured.
“You’re so you, you inspire me to be me.” Rowena, You are the one that is so you that you inspire me to Be Me! Thank you for always working towards putting your best self out there, your depth of spirit and kindness is good for our world. As you say, *screen hugs*
I learned a lot this year...feels like too much sometimes. Like a veil has been stripped away & it’s exhausting to work through everything, but I think the number one thing I’ve learned: there will be times when you need to be independent, but then there’s other moments where you need to accept the helping hand. 💙
As a Christmas-week baby (22nd), I totally get where you're coming from, with the awesome period of life reflection it creates! As soon as it flicks to December on the calendar, my mind goes straight into reflective, and birthday, mode - I don't 'do (think about/action) Christmas' until after my birthday...this is also what I love about it, while everyone gets wrapped up in the madness of Christmas, I get to relax into my birthday. I get excited and yes, reflective for, not only my birthday, but the whole new year in front of me. Happy Birthday, my fellow Saggitarian!
Plz plz plz Rowena do more videos on journaling and journaling assignments to do. I love your videos so much you’re so inspiring and so real and raw and you have so much texture in your personality and I absolutely love that you inspire me so much and I’m so so thankful that I found your videos when I needed them I’ve been watching you for a while now and I’m absolutely in love with what you do. It is 100% different than what you see on UA-cam. my favorite video is the Journaling video you did With the obituary and the “If money wasn’t a problem and you’re guaranteed to succeed at anything what would you do?”
I think the most important lesson I've learned throughout this year is that other's expectations from you are not your expectations -and this should summarize pretty much
I’m about to turn 20 and the biggest thing I learned this year is that I can’t do everything. I was always told I could do everything I put my mind to, but that led me to so many breakdowns this year. I wasn’t listening to myself and instead was trying to push myself way past my limit. It’s no surprise that it led to severe anxiety and medical issues. So the biggest thing I learned is that I can’t do everything! And that’s okay! That’s why the world is filled with all these beautiful people that have different gifts. It’s okay that I can’t do everything and I should have listened to myself in the beginning when I knew I had reached my limit.
I think that for me, learning to value alone time has been good because we have such attitudes and needs to be filled with conversation and more but being alone is okay and good and nice
Love yourself. Really love yourself. And that means you can say no to things you don't want to do or participate in, you can say no to people's comments and assumptions about you, you can be who you are without apologizing, you can cut off toxic people and stay away from toxic environments. Don't be hard on yourself. If you would tell somebody it's okay when they make a mistake, you can treat yourself with the same kindness. Don't hurt yourself just so others can gain from it.
letting go of expectations around eating "clean" or forcing your body to look a certain way are also the principles behind intuitive eating! such great lessons!
i thought my 'done is better than perfect' mentality wasn't right. And so i kept trying to change that during 2018 yet here i am... entering 2019 accepting the fact that you can never achieve perfection, rather, you can achieve improvement and growth.
The most important lesson I learned is that I am valuable because I am a human being, not because of what I look like, what I possess, the job I have... the only thing that I measure myself with at the end of the day is how much I loved others and loved life. The video was amazing, you're incredible Rowena
One Life Lesson I Learned This Year: Is to be patient with myself and to not set so much high expectations. I get caught up with what my family wants and not what I want. I have to be the perfect one. It’s okay to have faults. It’s okay to embrace the flaws too. At the end of the day I’m an perfectly imperfect human being and beautiful too. As we all are. Thanks for the lessons and inspiration Rowena! Have a great birthday 🎂!
you pretty much covered most of mine, but one that i am specifically learning RIGHT now at the end of the year is that i have all the power that i could ever need within me already. the power to do anything, heal anything, create anything, love anything... the power is not outside of me, it is already inside each and every one of us and that is so important to know 🌹🙏🏼 love you rowena, thank you for all the content you delivered this year, you are so inspiring and i love your mission so much! ✨
My Lesson I learned at 30. Stop with the excuses, and make the time to do something that makes you feel alive. Try to incorporate more of your passions into your every day life. You never really know what is going to happen. You become what you think. You are what you think. Your thought process, beliefs, attitudes, and experiences make up your mindset. If your life is full of hope then you'll never give up, and your hope will continue to build, over the years, which will in turn brighten and strengthen your outlook of life. Love you Rowena Tsai, Thanks
The greatest life lesson I have learned this year is gratefulness for everything and everyone. Being grateful makes me a happier, more generous, fulfilled and peaceful being. Loved the video Rowena!
I was okay when I started to watch this video. Like, no hard feelings, no problems, I'm fine. But when she get to #26 and she let us speak up our own mind in the comment section and how she reassures us saying that we are together in this... I cry hard. I don't even know I've been wanting to hear that from someone. I'm still crying when I'm typing this. Rowena, you are very beautiful. Inside out. I learned so much from BTS about loving myself and that's really hard to do. I used to loathe myself so much. Everytime bad things happened, I always, always, blame myself first. And knowing BTS and channels who encourage love self ones like you really give me a culture shock at first. And I cry a lot since then. I used to live hard. People might not know my struggles, even I don't know that I've been pressured myself too much. I remember the first time I hear Jin's Epiphany, that song really resonates in my heart. I cry a lot. Omg I'm crying again. I'm sorry, i got carried away 😅 I hope only best things happen to you Rowena! Thank you!
Every time I watch one of your videos I want to hug you! The most important thing that I've lerned is to be grateful with everything you have now and you will be at peace with yourself so you can work to achieve more.
rowena you are absolutely glowing in this video!! wow!! okay so... the most important life lesson for me has either been... to trust in myself and to believe that everything will turn out okay as long as i work my hardest. maybe not in the way that i envision it, but disaster will eventually pass! i just have to push through the hard times. or... that if i work hard enough, i can go so far. when i am passionate about something, i become so dedicated and committed to that thing, but sometimes, i can get lazy or complacent if i forget my passion. the other thing i'm trying to learn right now is to let go and be more resolute within myself. like, i have to be my own rock-i shouldn't expect anything out of anyone else, like you said!
1 thing I have learned this year is that to be human is to constantly evolve. As much as I am growing day by day miracles will not happen overnight and so it is so important to be present n reflect on the small wins and keep the faith... I’m doing just fine :)
one thing i learned is to stay true to who i am.. i haven't been able to be the 100% authentic version of me in fear of people judging me, but once I accepted who I really was and stopped faking it in order to be liked, things changed for the better
your content has helped me in ways i cant even articulate. u deserve all the happiness and success in the world. thank u for this channel. happy birthday!
I’m sure you hear it all the time, but I just want to say how much I appreciate you in my life at the moment! All your videos has helped me during my time of self recognizing! Thank you
I LOVE YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS, you speak with such clarity and uplifting demeanour!!! Binge watching your videos is the best thing I can do nowadays! ❤️ I completely think you have helped become more grounded and calm in myself!
One of the most important things I learned THIS year is: comparing yourself to others is TOO stupid if you've just under similar circumstances, cause like your ending point is completely different from theirs and their dream hugely differs from yours but until this year I was so strict to myself and I've used to believe that this person is doing better than me, they got more marks like on exams yeah BUT YOU are YOU not them SO stop it dude yeah finally by reading more books and expanding my outlook and by growing up I've just embraced this fact and my whole life became much easier and more fun to live with)
The most important lesson I’ve learned is (and sorry if this is kinda broad): “You have to love yourself be you love others.” My mom told me this all the time but I never really understood it until someone I loved very deeply, didn’t feel the same. Love yourselves before others. Your the only one in the world that can do it the right way.
This is one of my lessons i have learnt and still trying to learn: 26. love like you have never been hurt before. (This is an indication for those who have been hurt by their loved ones and I don't only mean like your boyfriend or girlfriend this could also be for those who have been hurt by their family)
one life lesson that is greatly helping me curb my anxious indecisiveness: just choose! neither choice will make or break your life. if you really cannot decide between two things, chances are they are equally good for you and you will learn and grow no matter which choice you pick. this has helped me with college decisions, course selection, and even which bubble tea flavor to get hehe. thank you for this!! and for giving us your best and speaking from the heart
Hi Rowena, I am always excited to watch your videos. For me, one of the important life lesson I've learned is: "If you are so bad on doing something, then that means there is something that you haven't learned yet. If you are failed on getting something, then maybe there are some facts that you don't know yet. :)"
I know this is probably going to come off depressing, but 2018 taught me that my mental illness is serious, and that's okay. I need to learn to take care of myself and take the proper precautions to stay stable. I have learned to tell people no when i am anxious about things. I've learned to be more open with people about it. I don't need to have this mentality of I must be cured, I just need to be comfortable. The truth is I am going to struggle and it's going to be so hard sometimes, but as long as i have the tools to reflect on the feelings and let them pass, I will be just fine. I think i just rambled there but ANYWAY THAT'S MY LIFE
Something that I learned this year that really stuck with me was "Everyone sucks at everything when they start." Yes, we all suck at different levels but at the end of the day if you keep going with something you will improve and you shouldn't be scared to start something just because you think that you are going to be bad at it at first. That's just life.
Coming across your channel this summer and then binge watching your videos has been very edifying and challenging- exactly what I needed to hear and I’ve seen the incremental changes. So THANK YOU and Happy Birthday in advance
An important lesson I have learnt this year is that only the present matters, the past has already happened and the future doesn't exist yet. To be our best self in any aspects of our lives is to be in the present and do what we can with it. A lot of us get carried away with thoughts from the past or are worried about the future. When in reality the only thing that exists is now, and it is the thing that shapes our future.
I think that the most important lesson I learned is to not be afraid when things don't go the way we planned. If in the end, we still have ourselves then it's all we need
For me, I learned that self-care is not always doing what you want when you want but doing what you know you need to do. I'm a lazy unbalanced person and I'm trying to remind myself of this all the time. I'm having a hard time in school and I'm constantly reminding myself that the sacrifices i make for these two years will be worth it. Sacrifice is okay and it does put things in perspective! I definitely agree with the staying curious point. It helps me to come up with dreams and things that I want to pursue and keeps me more interested in the world. I've been asking more questions and not worrying about how it sounds. Another inspiring video by Rowenaaa, thank you so much ^.^
Happy Birthday! I also had my birthday this month and turned 24. You have been such a big part of my journey and my growth this year. Thanks for putting it all out there, we all appreciate it more than you know.
I enjoyed this video; for me the biggest lesson is accepting my family the way that they are and that just because they are more laid back and relaxed in how they keep their space is unique to their individuality. P.S. I am loving the orange eye shadow, I see that you are incorporating makeup into your daily routine. Beautiful.
Hi rowena! One of the most important achievement of this year to me..is to find ur channel and watching, learning from ur videos..i learned the term "self care" and many other things from u and started taking care of myself.thank u so,so much for ur initiative of sharing wisdom and knowledge..MAY u keep growing & become more & more enlightened...😊😊
For me, it was learning I can't control everything. That I need to take care of myself and have boundaries, self respect. And just stop blaming myself for everything and everyone. I learned that life doesn't stops and waits, we have to keep going.
I love your channel so much! I usually pop on one of your videos and listen to it like a podcast while I’m doing my journaling. Such a great role model that doesn’t hide when things aren’t great and accepting the fact it’s okay to have bad days. Something everyone needs.
Oh man!! There have been SOOOOOOOOOO many life lessons! I think the one I'm working through right now is: be the best friend that you need. Treat others the way you want to be treated, and the good people will come to you.
I really love you. You inspire me to be the best self I'm able to be.. If I got lost a bit into parties and stuff like that and I need to get back on track with my self grow I watch some of your videos and after that I feel so inspired to do things to grow on a spiritual level. I love you. Just wanted to let you know that. ✨
Btw.. One of the most important things I've learned this year is that you don't have to rush to do or to get something you want. You really have to go get that thing slowly.. It will come to you anyway, if it isn't come yet is just because it's not the right time. Everything comes at the right time and at the right place when you need it. And also.. When you want to focus on multiple things you're never gonna do them right. While when you focus on just one thing at a time you'll be able to do every single one of these things right. Just take time. Everything we need we'll come. ✨
One thing that I've learned this year is that change is only possible for ourselves as long as we are willing to actually do it. Many people think that changing their bad habits or anything negative that they want to change is much harder than it actually is, or that it is impossible for them, that it only works for other people. But that's totally not true. You can do everything that you want to do as long as you actually want to do it. If you really desire it, then you can achieve it. There's still a lot I have to learn and a long way to go before I actually apply this mindset in everything I do, but I'm starting to change myself, to become a more positive person, to better myself in everything I do and this mindset has helped me a lot. I've wasted too many years of my life feeling bad for myself when all I needed to do was to set up my mind on only one goal at the time and do everything to achieve that one goal. Change doesn't come overnight, it's something that we must work on every day until we reach that bigger goal that we set.
I am moving to Seattle end of the month and will start working again in my profession! I am so excited and wanted to share with you...since last time I shared was “uncertainty.” Though I still think there is so much uncertainty (especially with moving and new job) I am excited for this journey!! Come visit the PNW!
this year I learned what self care was. What it really was. What loving myself really feels like. I learned how to pick myself back up. I also learned that sometimes people come and go in your journey but life goes on. I learned that sometimes when its dark, it just means you're rooted. Lastly, I learned what really feels my soul: creating. And embracing that. Thank you for ur part in my journey Rowena and being such an inspo. I was eating my macarons when you said to "eat that ice cream." You guessed it, I finished all my macarons and am now getting ice cream, LOL. xoxo
the most important life lesson i have learned is that: you have the free will to do what you want to do, it’s not up to anyone else to choose what you can and cannot do
yess I love this! do you boo :p
yes true!
One thing I learned is that it is okay to admit defeat, it's okay to admit someone is better and it is okay to admit you aren't going to be the best. Once I learned that, I was able to find happiness in everything I did because I realised that not everything is a competition and that there will always be someone better than me and that is okay.
@BreezyChoice Aw, that's such a shame. I'm glad you're learning to accept it and it is still something I also struggle with. We're in this together!
Yes, thanks for share
omg i needed this😭
1 life lesson I learned at 21: self-improvement to become the person you WANT to be really doesn’t matter without self-acceptance for the person you currently ARE.
Loved this video so much! Thanks for sharing it with us ✨✨
Dear Rowena, your voice is beautiful and calming. I love your videos they are inspiring and motivating.
Can you explain this?
you can only change when you accept yourself now
This is so true!!!
So true. I believe that if one wish to improve/change, one must first accept the self. In fact, this is myajor focus in 2019 😄
I learned this year that someone else's "okay" may not be your "okay." Don't compare someone else's life with your own because you may not have the whole picture.
"fear is always better than regret" - i love that
💕
Jackqueline Acheampong sending you so much love Jackie 💕💕
The biggest thing I learned is change is the only constant in life and to embrace that change is inevitable.
Samantha Kubs this is a great one but it’s soooooo hard
@@MollyKateMcCarthy I understand, I am still trying to be okay with so much change but eventually it will be easier. Strap yourself in and prepare for change, it is always coming.
Samantha Kubs that’s so true. You just have to learn to expect it!
@@MollyKateMcCarthy Exactly 💖
I love this quote/lesson. it played a monumental role in helping me embrace the inevitable and get comfortable with the uncomfortable
26. Depression is a legitimate illness and can be cured. Take care of your mental health.
Please make a podcast!
Yeah yeah please!
Pleaseeee
giving it a hard consider for 2019. will keep you posted 🤓
yes yes yes yes plzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Yes!!
What I always think is important is: It's okay to change, it's okay if it was a phase, people won't jugde you and don't be so hard on yourself, take your time and do whatever makes you happy
Breathe and let go is the most important one i've learnt. Its okay to take a break and breath, sometimes it's important.
The most important lesson I learned is to accept how you feel in the moment and reflect on it instead of beating yourself up for how you feel. It’s part of who you are and you need to accept yourself and how you react now to start to change and improve that part of yourself.
Moe Scott yessssssss
same thing I learn this year, and I feel so much better about myself by accepting my feelings and feel what I need to feel. Best of luck for you!
love this and it's very true for me right now
Turning 23, and the life lesson I learnt this year is to stop using human flesh as temporary bandaids.
Wow I’m so used to saying I’m 23 😂 actually turning 24
This year i learned to trust myself and believe in myself. Despite other people and family telling me I won't make it. I have the skills and everything to make it but I was lacking the trust in myself.
1 life lesson I learned: The only guaranteed thing to happen in our lives is that we will all get hurt. The earlier you realize and accept this, the better you will be at handling the situation since it won’t come as a surprise.
you only get hurt when your expectations aren't met, so the root of most unhappiness is personal expectation management 😉
agreed
the most important thing i learned is to take care of yourself by cutting out things that don't spark joy and surround yourself with things that will. positive mindset brings in more positive things :'))
happy early birthday!! and thank you so much for another amazing video
It's my birthday today and it's my 18 birthday.
Here's 17 things that I've learned:
1) Be honest with yourself first about how you feel.
8) Every kind of whether has it's one beauty (snow, sunny, gloomy, wind etc.)
9)Ask and you shall receive. (Lol)(it's true though)
10) Don't stress over things too much.
Enjoy life.
j4 c4 happy birthday!! My 18th birthday is on 4 January :-), soon
every 👏🏻 single 👏🏻 point. I LOVE THIS. #2 and #4, so true. #11, yess live your best life! #16, too sweet 💕 you're a gem I hope you know. happy belated birthday my love!
@@rowena thank you so much 💗😄😄😄
One thing I learned is that you define how much effort you put in.
Patricia Tene Tia very true you know what you're talking about!
@@juliab.75 Thank you, dear! 💛
EVERYTHING IS TEMPORARY!!!
The biggest lesson I learnt this year was to genuinely believe in good. It pushes me to believe
that whatever happen to me it holds a bright side and to accept people around me as they are. Thank you for your work Rowena
you look so peachy and bright today! Thank you for the lesson Rowenaa love youu
i mean thank you in advance since I commented on this way before I watch the video!
appreciate you Nurul 😊💕
The most important life lessons are getting rid of toxic friends💫 trust me it will help
I can relate. I did this too and my life is never been so great. Always surround yourself with people who help to bring out the best in you and not the beast in you. 😄😅
@@caffeinefixbudget baha best not beast. I love this!!
Love Segen :)
(Ps: sorry for my bad English, I am from Germany)
your english is perfect 💕 thank you for the sweetest message 😭 I appreciate you Segii!!!!
Biggest thing I learned is that as long as I'm alive, everything else can be figured out🌻 Thank you so much for all the reminders and for constantly working hard to inspire the world❤
this 🙏🏻💕 thank you for the simple yet insanely powerful reminder tiffany!
Elise yes me too! :)
my most important lesson from this year.. "don't try to dance to someone else's song". I think you said it in a video this year and it resonated me sooo much. Thank you for that
This video feels like youre my big sister giving me your wisdom and telling me im going to be okay
* bear hug * you're definitely going to be ok :)
I’m almost to my mid-20s and realized very recently that what works for others may not work for me. For example, I tried keeping a five-minute/gratitude journal and it took up too much of my time at night, pushing back my sleep schedule and making me stressed I wasn’t sleeping on time. I realized that I didn’t need that journal and just practice gratitude in my own way and it works so well for me
Sometimes I try to improve all aspects of myself and my life at the same time, and then I stress myself out too much. I’m thinking through what I want my resolutions to be next year and one of them might be “cut out noise” - I want to stop overcomplicating things!!
Thanks for this video, and all of your videos! Happy birthday and happy holidays :)
Things that I learnt this year:
1) trusting my intuition( it’s the best decision I have ever made)
2) getting rid of attachment(ppl or items, basically anything) just let it go ~
3) giving without expecting anything in return
4) loving myself(including imperfections/insecurities)
5) Always strive to be my best self everyday(to avoid regret, self judgement etc)
Discovered your channels this year and you inspire me in some ways haha
One Life Lesson I Learned This Year:
Not only can you learn something from each and every person around you, but even the people you think that are super different from you still may share a common trait with you.
It never really hit me until this year when I shared a conversation with a person who seemed to me to be my total opposite. Every opinion I had was discussed and disputed. It wasn't a 'fight' more so a calm debate and it was very refreshing and opened my mind.
yes. I love this!
I love your videos because it helps me better self-reflect on how I improve, and trust me I need to improve haha
Thank you for being you and for sharing your wisdom :) happy holidays and stay happy and healthy!
MsTrinTran love those lessons!
hbd I love & appreciate you! 🙏🏻💕 so glad to hear you've been peeling back the layers and going back to your roots. :) it's such a dauntingly exciting and wonderful journey but it'll all be worth it!
MsTrinTran funnily? 😂
found you through liah's vlog (i was in the SF bit) and obsessed with your videos!!! im turning 27 super soon too and this is making me feel slightly better about it 😂
yess almost 27 club hiii 🙋🏻♀️😅💕
one saying I’ve been trying to get in my head is ‘get over yourself’.
That orange eyeshadow looks beautiful on you 🧡
thank you Haley
I turned 22 this year and one thing I learned the hard way was: do your best to be lighthearted, because lighthearted doesn't mean superficial, it just means accepting that life gives you ups and downs, that people are going to disappoint you, you are going to disappoint yourself, but in the end the sun will rise again on a brand new day, giving you the chance to let go of the negative thoughts that make you feel like a total failure and useless person; never stop trying, keep fighting for those happy moments that will eventually warm your heart.
_floatinglantern aw I love this and I agree! :)
i'm 21, i just came to the point where i found my inner child couple of days ago. now i feel so connected with myself by being a parent to my inner child :D
so, 1 life lesson i learned is to be the parent she needs and deserves. creating new world where me, parent figure and the child rule.
The most important thing that I learned this year was: It will get better. No matter how bad or difficult things get, they always, always get better!
one thing i learned is that loving yourself is the first step to success. you can't do anything, you can't find true happiness without loving and appreciating yourself because it all begins with Y O U !!
My lesson is that healing cannot and should not be neglected. Running away from trauma, or suppressing it, is only hurting you and yourself. Love yourself and accept yourself for everything you are, and all of the things you have survived and endured.
“You’re so you, you inspire me to be me.”
Rowena, You are the one that is so you that you inspire me to Be Me!
Everything happens for a reason, trust it, trust yourself and always be kind.
One Life Lesson I Learned This Year:
Is to be patient with myself and to not set so much high expectations.
When times are tough, when friendships/ relationships end or you suffer loss, you can always rely on yourself.
One of the most important things I learned THIS year is: comparing yourself to others is TOO stupid if you've just under similar circumstances, cause like your ending point is completely different from theirs and their dream hugely differs from yours but until this year I was so strict to myself and I've used to believe that this person is doing better than me, they got more marks like on exams yeah BUT YOU are YOU not them SO stop it dude yeah finally by reading more books and expanding my outlook and by growing up I've just embraced this fact and my whole life became much easier and more fun to live with)
I swear you really change my life a little bit every second I listen to your voice. You give so much! I wish you the best 🍀
The most important lesson I’ve learned is (and sorry if this is kinda broad): “You have to love yourself be you love others.”
My mom told me this all the time but I never really understood it until someone I loved very deeply, didn’t feel the same. Love yourselves before others. Your the only one in the world that can do it the right way.
Man, I feel like you're the bigger sister I've always wanted. Thank you for being you and for sharing yourself on this platform :)
This is one of my lessons i have learnt and still trying to learn:
26. love like you have never been hurt before.
Thank you so much for your help. I appreciate you so much!! Always lifting my mood ❤️
LIVING AND BREATHING for the brief moments you break into your mom's accent! I LOVE IT!
😭💕 thank you so much Cassie! sending you lots of love & good vibes~
Happy early birthday Rowena!! 27 was my favorite year!! I got to move to NYC, favorite city other than Taipei
mine too! best time of my life happened at 27.
"i am still trying to figure out next steps" one of the best places to be 😌✨ enjoy & cherish this time of self discovery!!
Rowena Tsai ☺️
I was eating my macarons when you said to "eat that ice cream." You guessed it, I finished all my macarons and am now getting ice cream, LOL. xoxo
