Still learning how to let people in when I’m panicking but today I texted a couple people for help and love and advice when I was freaking out and I’m proud of myself even for the little weensy step
Rowena - In your last video you mentioned you weren't sleeping. I noticed that all your walls are white have you heard of blackout drapes? I know that some landlords don't let you paint,I read some where that white surfaces reflect light back into a room and dark colors actually absorb light. I was watching Muchelleb on UA-cam she starts shutting lights off in her apartment about 6PM . If you aren't sleeping because your brain won't shutdown you might try adult coloring books before going to bed you can find them at bookstores or Michaels craft stores,Target. I have a guest room that is a dark blue my guest have commented that the find the color very calming. Came up with these ideas on night at 2AM when I couldn't sleep because my brain didn't want to shutdown.
I need to let people in. It’s kinda weird since I’m pretty much an open book and I don’t mind about sharing my thoughts and opinions but when it comes to letting other people get involved with my life, I just find it so difficult. I’m so used to being “independent” that I feel like I can’t ever entrust my self to anyone else. That’s one of my resolutions this year. Thank you for this, Rowena!
postponed watching this video because i didnt wanna admit i was simply stressed and worried for literally no reason besides being too busy and too preoccupied with a million random things in my own head. self care for myself has been lacking to say the least and i feel nothing but guilt when i tend to my needs but i am so happy i saw this video. THANK YOU ROWENA! love your channel. currently trying not to feel guilty for taking a break from the constant push and pull of work and school and chores and family and friends and more. i forget that doing your hair in fun styles or cooking for yourself or dressing up for work or going to a tea bar with friends is so pleasant. anyway, just trying to say, thank you for being real and giving your take on how to reset(:
Girl, I don't even know how to tell you. This thing that you are doing is so good. I've been feeling stressed and kinda off for a few days now and I've avoided your videos because you make me think and question what I'm doing with my life and I just wanted to lie in total silence. But as soon as I started watching this video I felt SO relaxed, everything is clean and calm and you say very helpful things. And I realized I've been making excuses. I'm coming out of depression and I'm at that point where you really need to push yourself and just DO things. I know exactly what I have to do and I'm just not listening to my body, so thank you for reminding me of that. I truly wish you all the best, you're doing an amazing job here
Hey Rowena, I am exhausted and burning out and stressed and... because I have been studying so hard in past 2 months. This Saturday I am going to Singapore to take my SAT test, but I don't think I could perform well on my test. I am really overwhelmed by SAT and my school work. However, I feel better after watching your "destress" videos. Thank you.
This video was so helpful, and it does help to know what you’ve been going through as well, because it helps me realize that other people do also get stressed, that others aren’t perfect and so I don’t have to be either. Thanks Rowena, love you so much!!
Rowena Tsai AWW thanks so much for responding to me, it really means a lot. ❤️😌And it’s true! Everyone is on a different part of their path, and we have to learn that that’s okay.
I love this and recently I tried talking to a primary school friend who I thought forgot about me and we’re really similar and I love talking to them. I was so scared to talk to them but they were so accepting straight away!
You always make me smile Rowena thank you! It’s amazing seeing how much you’ve grown and changed as a person, I can see that you’ve stuck to your word and improved your fashion as well as being more sociable, I hope you can see your growth too💜💜
You're amazing, Rowena. I needed to step back and realize what was causing this massive anxiety inside me. It was the mess and the clutter! So I'm trying to move to a slightly more minimalist lifestyle within my needs.
This month I have been all over the place. Not thinking Im stressed but Im really stressed. Today and yesterday I have been watching your videos, trying to press the reset button on my life. Thank you for making your videos. They help me alot! You also have such a calming voice and nature.💕💕
I am a new subscriber and am just in awe of how perfect the timing for having found your channel is! A lot of what you said resonated so much with me. Also, thank you for the very detailed subscription box, haha, I so much appreciate some background info and that also recipes are linked!
Love your videos 🤓 I find that I’ve been telling myself when I’m stressed that it doesn’t have to be a state of being. It can exist for a moment and then I can let it go. It doesn’t have to last days, weeks, or months. Stressful thing a happen, but that doesn’t mean I have to become a stressed out person. This thought has brought me so much peace the last few months. I actually find that my friends are making use of it too. I think I’m freaking them out when I don’t automatically freak out and turn into a ball of stress. I just shrug my shoulders and say, “oh well!” 💕
Letting people in is so important! Today I texted my friends and said sorry for just being absent the past 2 months, not texting in our group chat and not coming to meet up. I cried because they were so sweet. And I pushed texting them for weeks because I was scared.
Been going through a rough time lately & your videos on positivity, de-stressing & self care have all been greatly helpful & exactly what I needed. Thanks so much, love you fam!
Rowena always coming through with helpful video's exactly when I need them! I've been high on anxiety and depression again recently and it can be so hard to let all that energy go when I'm swept up in it ugh :(
baby steps my love ❤️ you got this! even if it's just taking 5 minutes to yourself to separate yourself from your thoughts. the most powerful thing I read in the Power of Now was that we are not our thoughts/the voices in our head. it takes time and practice but it's made a world of difference for me
I love how you upload these specific videos a week before I always start my period because the week prior I’m always in a funk and I’m down but I watch your videos and they make everything more bearable🎍🦋🌿
When I first saw the title, I thought to myself, "Another self-care video, how much more in depth can she get??" After I watched, I still came away with lots of good reminders/new tips! I don't know how you do it, but you keep your content so fresh and it's really impressive how you spin the same topic in new ways. Thanks so much, Rowena!
I just started school today and I got really stressed and overwhelmed looking at all of the work I have to do and I came on youtube and It's like I needed to see this. Thank you for always posting at the right times even if you never knew!!
sending you so much love Mailey 💕 though what we go through may be different, feelings are universal and reminding myself of that always helps me feel less alone and not crazy for being who I am lol
As always, your videos always come at the RIGHT moment. I’m overthinking way too much these days, i definitely need a reset! Thank you, your videos are so inspiring and useful✨💓xxx

this is so helpful and exactly what i need right now
Just got finished watching your amazing, simply explained video to get me ready for the first day of school tomorrow. Wish me luck!! Thank you so much for the extremely helpful videos that you make Rowena, and not to mention your adorable personality! Keep doing you boo 👏🏼✨👍🏼💗
2:47-3:50 I just started watching your vids recently but I think in this one I heard more of your ethnic accent and it was so cool. It was like an Asian Elder sharing her wisdom. 😌
Being in sales and having stress as part of the nature of my work - this is really helpful. Also watching your videos always makes me feel more at peace :)
Oh man... I can imagine haha. I'm working on saving/investing most of what I make commission wise bc of the uncertainty while I get better at my own videos. Thanks for the inspo heh
i've already said this before but it's the small things you do (dabbing while patting yourself on the back) that I find so cute and give me a little more energy haha "this is so dangerrrr" XD thank you for the video! i've been super pumped, waiting for your next video, seeing the sneak-peeks you keep giving us! i'm happy that you are developing better behaviors like engaging more with others than you might normally do. i love your smile, keep up the good work Rowena :)
sweetest. comments. always. THANKS KENNA 💕 I'll start purposely not purposely dabbing for you know 😜 appreciate you and your messages so much my love, thank you for being here!
Siiiiiiigh happy sigh good sigh. Thank you. You are so real. You are vulnerable and relatable, it is really soothing to watch you cos I'm constantly just like... girl same. I love the point about making time for play.
you are just such a beautiful person (on the inside and outside)... you and your videos always make me smile :) thank you for being so genuine :) btw... same with closing off and trying to figure everything out on my own... currently trying to open up more too :) XX Love from Germany :)
Thanks for the sharing ! I'm still learning how to let people in, and not only when I'm stressed. You really got me with the 5 minutes of doing nothing, I'm going to try this one soon !
welcome to the fam you beautiful soul!! regarding convincing self to it's ok to open up, know that if whoever your opening up to is really your friend, you'd never make them feel weird. it's like how you'd never make your best friend feel weird about opening up to you. it may be uncomfortable the first couple of times, but as with anything, with practice, it gets easier and easier :)
Hi, Rowena! Thank you for the reply! I think you might have meant to leave it on @fabregaa10kleine ‘s comment! Thank you for the hearts on our comments!! 😊
can you do a video about what high school was like for you? i’m starting my senior year and i feel like i haven’t had a lot of the classic/typical high school experiences and have mostly wasted a lot of time not having fun lol... i need help understanding what it’s ACTUALLY like for other people and not just what is demonstrated on social media :/
Rylee B i graduated this past year and have realized my biggest regret is not being more involved...I never did a sport or anything with a team connection and i wish I had more of those experiences. I worked really hard in high school and although its paying off in college, i definitely didnt have a movie or social media experience (which i dont think is unique!) My greatest piece of advice would be to focus on yourself and your education, but don't lose sight of the fun kid things like making friends, trying new things, and being a part of your community. Good luck w senior year !!!
As someone who graduated high school 4 years ago, I second the other comment. Get involved with activities. I made so many more friends & found so many new interests. It helped me enjoy school a lot more, as I hated school previously. 😊
My regrets about my senior year and higjschool in general was taking it too seriously and jist being sooo stressed out. I didn't make new friends or do new things or have any fun because I was so stressed about grades and getting in to a good school. I think you can have fun and try new things and STILL do well. It's the last year (for a lot of people anyway) to not worry about paying bills and being an adult. You still get to be a kid. ENJOY it and don't take it too seriously.
Can you make a video on how to seek balance? It’s such a big journey when I think about it and I don’t know how to go about doing it on my own. Love your videos ❤️
This was a well timed video, I've just had a slow morning out of exhaustion rather than realising earlier that I perhaps needed one! I'm off work today so am definitely going to have a bit of a reset day 💡
#5 is tricky for me. I'm wise to being the one helping others but not so much the other way around. When I've let people in I've been hurt or let down numerous times. So to some degree it feels weird to ask for help from them or to dump my problems on them. I'm very open and deep but not always vulnerable. If I can find someone to unconditionally let me be myself, then I guess I'd be able to be more vulnerable.
Thanks for the video Rowena, it helped with a couple of thoughts I was having. Your point about the role curiosity plays in our self-direction is definitely something I want to reflect on more. It also inspired me to share some ideas with you, but I'd like to preface this by saying if they don't appeal to you that's okay too, I won't be offended, they're just ideas (or as Groucho Marx put it "Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others."). :-) Okay so I've been reflecting on what self-help is, sometimes after watching your videos, and after watching this video I remembered a section of an old RHCP song that struck a chord with me a while back... "I'm here to be your only go-between To tell you of the sights These eyes have seen What I really want to do is Turn it into motion Beauty that I can't abuse You know that I'd use my senses to" What I really liked about these lyrics is the idea that motion/action gives us a way to protect our thoughts (turning them into "beauty that I can't abuse"), as even if thoughts can come and go we can give them a longer lifespan through our actions. In the context of self-care, I suppose what I take from that is that we can feel more grounded if we don't have to rely on our thoughts alone. The second thought I had was about the kitchen creativity you shared in this video, I was thinking that perhaps this might be something that could make for a good video or two. Something along the lines of a challenge to make positive changes, but in the simplest way possible. So the idea could be to think up the simplest way to make a healthy snack, or the simplest way to incorporate exercise into a daily routine, the simplest way to destress, it could be anything really! Thanks again for the video. :-)
New subscriber! I'm so happy that I find your channel. Super random but what tree plant is that?? I love how it makes a guest appearance in your videos.
Stress, I will not let be my "internal monster" that is destroying me on the inside. Self care is my favorite thing to do for me to get back to my natural self again 💟.
Anyone else wants Rowena to write a book?
I agree

#5 is tricky for me. I'm wise to being the one helping others but not so much the other way around. When I've let people in I've been hurt or let down numerous times. So to some degree it feels weird to ask for help from them or to dump my problems on them. I'm very open and deep but not always vulnerable. If I can find someone to unconditionally let me be myself, then I guess I'd be able to be more vulnerable.

I love your videos so much!!!
thanks Joyce!! 💕 happy new year ☺️
Thanks for the video Rowena, it helped with a couple of thoughts I was having.
"I'm here to be your only go-between
To tell you of the sights
These eyes have seen
What I really want to do is
Turn it into motion
Beauty that I can't abuse
You know that I'd use my senses to"
What I really liked about these lyrics is the idea that motion/action gives us a way to protect our thoughts (turning them into "beauty that I can't abuse"), as even if thoughts can come and go we can give them a longer lifespan through our actions. :-)
These tips are so needed for me right now haha! Thank you!
