I gave up drinking coz alcohol tastes like turpentine or maybe kerosene...at least what I imagine how they would taste. Ruins anything it touches. I tried to "acclimate" in college, but it was simply a chore. I don't understand the desire to get into drink. I can see the light social benefits, but beyond a couple of mixed drinks or a few beers or wines it's no longer about easing social anxiety. It's not a competitive drinking sport, it's a light social drug.
