- In today's episode we built my brother @mancobra a new @SubrosaBrand x @TheShadowConspiracy via Max Vu and EPIC BMX and Phu showed us how to get the real bang for your buck by using an after market Subrosa MR2 (Matt Ray) with a Freecoaster Wheel on a Subrosa Tiro Bike.

old video, but a good one. for someone who needs a whole bike on a budget, you can get that complete bike, then, if the hi-ten frame gives out. get a full chromoly frame and swap everything over.

Nice vid. I love building BMX and I just discovered I enjoy watching others do it too. Funny how we all have our own preferred ways...
- I use a motorbike crank seal puller as a BB press.
- I wouldn't hammer the cranks like that. I know 48 splines can be stubborn as hell but as a worse case scenario I'd use a wood chock.
- Stem bolts I *always* go 1432, and tighten turn by turn.
- electrical tape never goes anywhere near my bikes. Zip ties if I must, maybe.
- grips are soaked in hot water, quickly dried off and they slip in on one easy move then shrink to grip. I never use anything lubricating to get them or off.
All that said, it's all personal preference, I loved watching the build and the bike looks pretty sweet 👍🏻

I’m at 230 without tax and shipping. 2022 subrosa Altus 20in (on sale @ $195) replaced bars with Rant 9in sway bars (also on sale @ $35). Used to skate/scoot primarily had a bmx at one point idk what happened to it. But felt like for 230 bucks I’ve got a decent bike so far. Want a freecoaster so I can fakie easier like on a scoot.

Just started on something exactly like this. Found a “used” high end oem complete for DIRT CHEAP. Literally brand new 2022 model but the frame is too big. Just looking for the right frame to do the swap.

back then 2012 -2015 you could get full chromoly bikes and sealed bearings front and back and double walls for cheap .. even the fit bikes then used to come with sealed everything and double wall rims for like $430 , i know economy has changed and for you to get a nice bike now its around $650

we would use wd40 to put our grips on wd40 to put our chains on wd40 to put our bottom brackets on wd40 for our headsets etc.
