    The heating up of the engine is an unnecessary step as you can get inconsistency in the heating procedure. I also follow Botajell. Think of a two stroke as you would a full size vehicle. Some people say that break-in is unnecessary, but that's not true. Break-in seats bearings, cycles the seals and gaskets, and also let's the engine oil all the moving bits. I read a comment of a guy telling everyone to put the gas in and go. He must have gotten lucky with his engines because an engine not broken in will not lubricate properly, the seals will get blow-by and even allow an engine to not meet it's full compression. If you ever see fluid drips under an RC that's fairly new or even a seasoned one is typical of a bad break in.

    Motor break in is just a myth....fuel it and go!!!! I know I own 4 pump gas buggys...out of box new ...fuel...and go!....never ever had a problem.....it makes me laugh how people put on such a theatrical show about something that is null!!!!!!!!!

      Mike Secondo 100% unnecessary. We have 20 years old 2 stroke walking tractors, 10 years old chainsaw, 3 yo Rovan Baja, 7 yo nitro car and none of them have seen a breaking show nor any issue, the old nitro and the baja start right off.

      The thing that bugs me is that all this idle for the first tank stuff does nothing towards seating the rings. Differing RPMs and differing engine loads are what the rings need to seat properly. Seating the rings properly is the number one step to a strong running engine.

    That’s hilarious it’s so big u gotta use a hospital bed side table to put it on, I’ve got the same side table next to my hospital bed, mines at home not at the hospital obviously

      Lol. It actually works great and much cheaper than a $400 1/5 scale RC Stand. To be fair though those stands clamp down the RC and allow you to rotate in both "X" and "Y" axis for ease of working on the vehicle.

      Yes, 2 stroke oil is fine. Make sure you slowly turn over that engine several times before putting the plug back in.

      Am-soil Dominator. Its the best for high revving 1/5 scale engines. If your engine has a choke just a couple pulls until it pops then take the choke off or you will flood it and not get it started.

    The thing that always strikes me in video's like this or visiting the US is how rubbish the petrol is, the lowest I can buy is 95 locally, otherwise its 98, 99 or 104....

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock 3 роки тому +1

      You know that the octane rating has nothing to do with quality right? All that rating means is that higher octane is more resistant to ignition. It is used in engines with higher compression to prevent detonation (premature ignition of the fuel). Higher octane fuel also has less energy per unit volume. If your engine doesn't have high compression, there is obsoletely no reason at all to run high octane gasoline. If your car only needs 87 octane and you are running 95 or higher, all you are doing is robbing your engine of a bit of power and efficiency.
      Also, just so you know, the rating system in the US is different than in the UK and Europe. The US uses the "AKI" system, which is an average of the MON and RON ratings while Europe and the UK use just the RON rating. 97 octane fuel in the UK is equivalent to 91 octane in the US.
      Your entire comment was nothing more than you spouting off gibberish on a topic you know nothing about. There is nothing more stupid than somebody who adamantly voices opinions on subjects they are completely ignorant about.
