  • Welcome to Day 42!
Today I am really not doing well with hunger, I just don't want to eat! And an abscess is causing me a lot of pain.
What I eat in a day - Exante Edition. Today I try; hot cross bun bar, salted caramel bar and Indian style daal pot
Hi! I am morbidly obese. I have just started the NHS Low Calorie Diet Programme to see if I can put my Type 2 diabetes into remission. Phase 1 of this 12 month long journey is 3 months on the Exante 800 calorie a day diet.
Hopefully you'll join me this year on this journey!
Here is my referral code which gets you £5 off and gives me some credit too.

800 calories a day isn't optional on this diet. It's an absolute necessity.
And the 3 litres a day isn't optional either. It's vital.
I wonder if you're possibly subconsciously trying to affect the weight lost by minimising your intake?
As I said in my last video, the initial, dramatic weight loss in any diet is because your liver is converting its supply of glycogen into glucose, and it uses water from your body to do that. The initial weight loss is mostly water. After your body has exhausted the livers supply of glycogen, it moves on to your fat reserves, and they also need water to convert their glycogen into glucose. Without it, the glycogen can't be metabolised, and the resultant glucose can't get to where it's needed. That's why you can't think straight (your brain uses 20% of all that glucose). That's why you feel bad - listless and unwell.
That's why you're being told to drink plenty of fluids. More to the point, during this process, because your vital organs are going to depend on water being used to dilute the glycogen to convert to glucose to keep them working properly, they take priority, and liquid is being drawn from anywhere it can be found, and it's causing problems because you aren't taking in enough fluids.
You're becoming dehydrated. That's why you feel bad - listless and unwell.
I think you believe that you're following the exante diet, but by skipping meals and not drinking enough liquid, you are making it extremely difficult for the diet to function in the way it was designed.
This week, concentrate on eating/drinking the four exante products each day, and on drinking the required amount of fluids. I think you'll feel much better, and have much more energy.
I hope you take this the right way. I don't mean to have a go at you, because I know you're finding it very difficult. I admire the guts you've shown in losing, what is, after all, just shy of three stone in six weeks. Please stop beating yourself up when, according to the calculations I explained yesterday, you're bang on target. For crying out loud, you're losing just shy of a pound a day!

You’re bang on 100% on everything. I’ve been feeling much better today, I think an abscess had been really dragging me down but my appetite is back today and I’m in much less pain. I’m going to make a conscious effort to make sure I eat the 4 products, even if I’m not hungry and make sure my fluid intake is up too. I started off well but it has lacking of late, especially on busy days. Thank you for “telling me off” (although I don’t see it that way,) it really helps hearing it from someone else too!

800 calories? That is disgusting and far too little. You need a minimum of 1200.
