  • We walked around the Indian Pass Campground area on the tip of the peninsula and give y'all a little look at the area and beaches there. For lunch we went to Cat 5 Raw Bar and had some shrimp and oysters and watched an eagle catch it's lunch too. For dinner we went to Joe Momma Woof Fired Pizza. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious and highly recommended!
This truly is a beautiful area to visit with lots to enjoy.

I so wish I were there with you guys. Lived on St Pete Beach for a couple years. Miss the water living in the desert now. I had no idea butterscotch pudding had anything to do with Disney but Abbey it's my favorite too. My gal makes if for me from scratch when I'm good.

I grew up very near there, Adam. In my youth, it was privately-owned and visitors were not allowed. As teens, we made a good many surreptitious trips to the island. Fortunately, we never got caught.

Most of the goodness in oysters is their "texture" and firmness. It's true, fresh seafoods will "turn" in just 24 hours especially if you are used to same day caught and consumed, its spoils you. Clam Chowder is the ultimate, the white version as is a good oyster cream stew. So sad that some of our restaurants simply don't serve the more deserving dishes anymore. BTW, it is very hard to beat a real brick wood fired oven when it comes to pizza and other baked items. I like them cooked a little more than a little less to get the top crust and goodies browned plus the smoke flavor ! Bring me another !

We like making cocktail sauce with Chili Sauce instead of Ketchup, as for hot sauce I'm a . Fortunately we have some GREAT Horseradish by us since we're local to a HUGE Polish Population and they make some of the best horseradish (creamy and rough grated). We use rough grated in our cocktail sauce. As for hot sauce? Tabasco is my "go to", but I like many of them, so we change it up. We'll make up several types and MANY like it made with Franks Red Hot and Chili Sauce, the other popular one we make is the way Abby makes it...with ketchup.
Adam, you NAILED the flavor of an oyster. Personally, I like mine raw, by the dozens. Most people that think that they are "nasty" either have never had them, or are judging them by their look. I do like them baked as well, but raw is my favorite.
GREAT Shot of that bald eagle! We have a nesting pair just about a mile from my home, and they fly over once in a while.

My tastes are the same as yours, Abby. I only make my own cocktail sauce. A truckload of horseradish and a little ketchup. I have also made it with BBQ sauce for grilled or smoked seafoods.
