I used to sit in a small bunker (Kugelbunker) about 5m off the runway at the active end, giving them the green for take-off and checking gear down before giving the green light on short final. Back then (1982) we had Hunters and Tigers in Meirinen.
Oh the good old F-5 Freedom Fighter/F-20 Tigershark , made it's way in other world's Air Forces but did not impact the country of origin except as an Aggressor Aircraft. The sister aircraft T-38 is being phased out for the new digital T-7 Red Hawk bridging the gap between the new age trainer and F-22/ F-35
The good news is the F-5E (also 'N') lives on for a few years more due to avionic upgrades. Not bad for a plane that is over 60 years old (by design) and still in my opinion one of the best looking jet planes ever.
Talk about a picturesque setting to watch two of my favorite classic fighter jets, amazing video. Other videos, the SwissAF pilots fly the old Hornets on the margins of a Raptor, pretty amazing!
They recently did a firmware update to the avionics of the Hornet, which opened a whole new envelope of performance, making it look like it has vectored thrust.
I m working in Thai Air Force. In Thailand F-5 will upgraded to Tigris and Super Tigris. We upgrade an avionics and armaments. I think the F-5 in Thailand are the best in the world.
класс! большой привет ввс швейцарии! на ролике отлично видно...как зум искажает пространство! а еще видно большую разницу в характеристиках взлета и посадки более простого эф-5...и более крутого эф 18! спасибо!
@@neahb402 What's the issue exactely, the instruments are not deemed trusty ? It was certfied IFR for a number of years so I have hard time understanding they are forbidden for IFR/IMC conditions now.
I know it will never happen but it would be awesome to see Ukraine flying some modernized F-5s. Allegedly they’re relatively simple to fly, so maybe their pilots could learn them in a short time.
Hey Peter. The twin seat jet in this video is the F-5F. The F-5 was developed as a light fighter, the T-38 was based on the F-5 but is purely a trainer 👍
America made 60's fight jet still can compare and play with 90's the US 4th generation fighter , in the world , only China PLA will laugh and say they can beat USAF

F 5 tigers fighter jets so cool brilliant videos hornets jet's awesome 👍 fantastic pilots brilliant coverage channel amazing 🤟❤️
Thanks a lot Andrew, really kind of you to comment 👍😎
Absolutely amazed by the stunning scenery. What a great place to film aircraft! Nice aircraft at that too!

So cool, what a great job 😎
You mean the "loch" well let's just say I would be sitting there in case of war but it was a nice place to see the trafic. Buochs in my case.

@@sensualeye So that's why, thanks for explanation.👍
@@delten-eleven1910 it's amazing what a software upgrade can do!
Similar things have been done to the F-22 while they are being overhauled.

Absolutely beautiful!
Hell of a place for a runway! Let's see, ah, anybody see any mountains??
I JUST WANT ONE OF THESE HORNETS IN THE FREEWAY.
(But Where Did Hide the Wings go?)
That is a very incredible footage of the F-5E Tiger II and F/A-18C Hornets in action 😊😎
Cheers Douglas! 👍👍👍
@@UKAviationMovies ooo much welcome bro 😁👍
Maravillosas máquinas, la Fuerza Aérea de Chile aún opera 18 aviones F5 Tigre III, muy bien mantenidos.
To see the track from a satellite, you have to place it correctly.
Great catches
Very nice video, which camera was used to film it, tripod or freehand? Greetings from Switzerland, Vital
This was shot on my Sony X160 mounted on a tripod 👍
I disagree. I thought it looked pretty nasty. Over sharpened?
I SO with they had actually put the F-20 into production. F-5 might be the most beautiful looking fighter ever made.
Problem is, the F-16 was better in every way
@@Tigershark_3082 I know, but I still wish we would have seen it
Nice
Also, didn’t the US Navy buy these Swiss F-5s?
Yeah they did, and used them as aggressors if I remember correctly 👍
@@UKAviationMovies Re-designated as the F-5N if I'm not mistaken.

Are the F-5 still restricted for VFR flights ?
Yes they are restricted !

Die Ukraine braucht Frieden und keine Kampfflugzeuge aber die Amerikaner wollen lieber Krieg. Haben die keine andere Religion mehr.
F 18 only need 50 m to take off
Top hein com cobertura de chocolate 😂😂😆😁😄😃😀😃😄😁😆😅😂
Second best part of Top Gun.
Yeah, I said it. F-14 is "better" than F-5.
Doesn't the 2 seater have a different designation? T-38? What am I missing?

@@UKAviationMovies I believe the F-5B is the original two seat combat version.
I read today that the F/A-18 J-5011 will sadly no longer fly with a painted Tiger-Tail
That’s sad, such a beautiful paint scheme 😥
