The Chaparral and McKenna make great fifth pocket knives. Perhaps I have extra large fifth pockets but mine hold most knives I own. Currently in my fifth pocket: WE Practic. No problems fitting it in there. Yesterday I had a Para3 in the fifth pocket. I tend to wear slim fit jeans, don’t judge me!
I'm not much of an auto guy, nor can i carry one in my state but i sure do love some Pro-techs. Wish they made more manual frame locks like the TR-3 integrity.
I love knives that are small enough to fit in the watch pocket, but it's generally where I keep my keysmart. The less I have to go digging around for my keys in the winter, the better!
I just got a lil native, based on your recommendation. It is excellent. Very nice and I think it will get plenty of use. I never use a fifth pocket backup. But to me I don’t need two folders for EDC. If I need two blades I use a folder to back up a fixed blade for fine work. Great video with lots small fun knives
I used to always throw the Lil Native in my 5th while primary was the Shaman. Also love the Spyderco McBee tiny little guy but its a fun ti framelock, and that little wharnie can put in some work on cardboard, rope, zip ties anything I've thrown at it, it handled.
Great bunch of small knives. This is really about my favorite size knife. Up to almost 3 1/2. But that 3 in or a little less is really all I need. Thanks for reminding us what’s out there in the small world.
Been waiting for somebody to do a top 5th pocket or small knife list because they are most useful size concealed from where I live. Thanks. Rockin' the Lil Native, Mini SheepDog and Roadie here and loving them.
Some jeans/pants have extra reinforced cloth over the pocket, which in theory makes sense but makes it really hard to force certain pocket clipped knives into its place in your pocket
I usually carry a Kershaw Chive in the 5th. Ken Onion, American made, love the recurve blade. You have almost sold me on the lil native several times though. Thanks for the video, always enjoy your content and appreciate that you keep us lefties in mind during your reviews.
My favorite 5th pocket knife is the spyderco ladybug. I have a vtoku-2 one and I love it. I bring it to my college campus so I still have a knife but it’s out of sight.
Great list for 5th pocket knives, Bryan! My favorite that I own is one you sold me, the Civivi Durus! That thing is PERFECT for my 5th pocket, as a primary or secondary carry! 👍🏻
Interesting topic! My favorite watch pocket knives are the Burger EXK Plus, Peña Trapper, Olson M9, Spyderco Chaparral, and Olamic Busker. I’d be interested in the Lil’ Native if it were thinner behind the edge - and if I didn’t already have the Chaparral.
Nice list, I've been carrying my McKenna in the 5th pocket because like you said it's so much fun. It's my only front flipper and it makes me want another. Might be material for you a video only on front flippers. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.
If you are carrying one of these and a large knife what types of things do you find you use each for? Most of my knife usage could be done by any of these knives.
My lil native almost exclusively gets carried in my watch pocket but my chaparral hardly ever gets any pocket time being the raffir noble variant. Doing my best to keep the scuffs and scratches to a minimum.
Great 5th pocket knife video I have the Tuff lite and it is a great 5th pocket knife that lil Native is a bit pricey for a small knife but to each his own
great video ive wanted a lil native backlock for some time now never quite enough to drop the bones for it tho ive got dragonfly, mckenna, atmos that i usually take to workin the 5th pocket. also really like the victorinox sportsman
I love my Benchmade saibu in that pocket along with my Spyderco dice and kizer sheepdogs mini, I have both titanium and g10 minis those are my main 3 or actually 4 technically for my condom pocket lol
I like my knives to be hidden in my 5th pocket with the clip tucked in so it's not showing. The Dragonfly, Mini Tough Lite, and 85mm SAK's are the perfect size for my Levi's 505 5th pocket. The Levi's 550 5th pocket is a little bigger.
I've had a Rambler in my 5th pocket for about a year or so. It's a great knife. But lately I've been keeping my Leatherman Micra in there. It has waaayyy better scissors, but I'm missing a toothpick.
That pocket for me is used for my Gerber dime mini multi tool! Love it and it has two small blades in it, one of which is a plastic cutter for those impossible to open packages 👌🏼👍👍
Serious question... Why would you need a back up. knife when you already have a knife? In case primary jams or rus out of ammo? Second question... What is this odd thing about buying a knife with great steel and the avoiding using it???
Most of my favorite traditional folders are watch pocket sized and if I wasn't left handed it would carry my primary knife. No modern folders for me, it's all traditional belt knives and two handed traditional folders.
I saw a lil native with flytanium titanium scales and it looked incredible. Bumps the price into TRM nerd territory but I wanted to ask your thoughts on a titanium scaled lil native. Too much or make your favorite 5th pocket knife even better? Thanks bud!
Hey slicey just got white mini bugout not really liking the white. I really like the red on yours was wondering if you used rit and how long you left yours in.
i like to carry a fifth pocket knife so i dont have to hand ppl my expensive/large knives. therefore i carry a leather ps4 and its always fun handing people that 1in blade
LOL @ fitting in a lady's 5th pocket. You know what fits in my 5th pocket? A leatherman squirt or a swiss classic SD. That's IT. Ain't nuthin bigger going in there. It's 2.5 inches deep.
Fifth pocket sucks always falls out when it's a nkife I have a small diamond file in there as it grips and stays and every nkife I buy I use no save queens here I pay to use mine thanks
Kinda funny you call spyderco expense then you show benchmade I find them overpriced an overrated I'll take the hogue Ritter better steel an price plus after having a liner lock fail twice I never use them
Pilar is my secondary carry. Fits beautifully into 5th pocket.
I have a ‘lil native as my 5th pocket knife currently but I was just talking about getting another 5th pocket knife. Great timing on this video!
My spyderco lil native fits eefectly in the coin pocket on my jeans and is where i always carry it.
Same here.... I was wondering if it was even going to get a mention and..... well would you look at that it got all the glory?!
Same here. Good stuff!
I have my lil native, blacked out. Replaced the handle scales with copper. Love it!
Lil’ Native is on of my favourite knives, definitely a gem
I'm not much of an auto guy, nor can i carry one in my state but i sure do love some Pro-techs. Wish they made more manual frame locks like the TR-3 integrity.
The fifth pocket is so underutilized! My fifth pocket is always home to a SOG Micron II, a Clipper lighter, and lip balm.
I love knives that are small enough to fit in the watch pocket, but it's generally where I keep my keysmart. The less I have to go digging around for my keys in the winter, the better!

Fun video Brian. I love the lil Native and the Atlas. Those are the two that find their way into my fifth pocket the most.
The giant mouse Clyde is perfect for the small pocket. Plus it’s insanely sharp out of the box with elmax steel. Great for cutting plastic
My favorite 5th pocket knife is the Rough Ryder cub. I have a few different colors. Small traditional lock back that disappears in the 5th pocket.
Some jeans/pants have extra reinforced cloth over the pocket, which in theory makes sense but makes it really hard to force certain pocket clipped knives into its place in your pocket
It's expensive, but the Olamic Busker is my favorite 5th pocket knife. Plus it's so fun to play with. Boos mini smoke is great too and more slicey.
I usually carry a Kershaw Chive in the 5th. Ken Onion, American made, love the recurve blade. You have almost sold me on the lil native several times though. Thanks for the video, always enjoy your content and appreciate that you keep us lefties in mind during your reviews.
Nice video, Brian! Lovely selection of little knives.
You've given me some ideas to look up! Thank you.🤗❤️👍🤘👋
I've really enjoyed carrying a RUK style utility knife. I got mine from drop, the Ti Slice. Has been a solid, frequently used addition to my EDC.
Spyderco Kiwi4 currently in my 5th pocket! Love the wharncliffe as a back up.
My favorite 5th pocket knife is the spyderco ladybug. I have a vtoku-2 one and I love it. I bring it to my college campus so I still have a knife but it’s out of sight.
Wide variety of options, well done.
I don’t do a 5th pocket knife often, but when I do, it’s my Protech-Strider PT auto 😁
My favorite watch pocket knife recently has been my utx-70, but the spyderco mcbee is also fantastic
No Spyderco McBee?? One of the best knife designs ever and it just screams 5th pocket!
Interesting video ! Some great suggestions there . Lil Native is a solid choice !!😊👍
DUUUUUUUUUDE! You left out Bestech Engine and Bestech Goblin!!! My two favorites! 👍🏻😀
My HEA Designs Hunter finds its way into my 5th pocket, too!
I’ve been wanting the lil’ native for so long!!!
Great fun video!
OK, my addition to the list...the Gust.
Love the rough ryder
Love my lil native..hoping for some new steels...preferably without orange scales though!
Great knives! I love the lil native as a backup knife. That and the tufflite are amazing
Loving all the new content ! Definitely gonna look into carrying a secondary 5th pocket knife now!
I always have my Leatherman Juice S2 in there, fits perfectly
I carry a Medford dress Marauder but I'd love to get the UTX70
The spyderco meerkat is a sweet 5th pocket knife and it's fun because people can't figure out how to close it
Fun video! 😃. Beautiful collection man! 👌
been carrying a thin folding razor knife but ordered a Squid and gonna try that.
I use my Mini Archbishop and Bestech Engine in my 5th on the regular.
I like to carry a zt 0022 as a 5th pocket knife
That bugout is sick!
I carry all of my knives in the 5th pocket of my Levi's. Why not when my PM2 fits?
Nice list, I've been carrying my McKenna in the 5th pocket because like you said it's so much fun. It's my only front flipper and it makes me want another. Might be material for you a video only on front flippers. Anyway thanks for your thoughts.
Alox Cadet for the win
Sith Bugout 😍
Reate t2500? Great little fidget knife with the design and build on par with full size blades.
Oh wow, a 5th pocket knife video that actually has a pocket to show how they fit!
I don't have a fifth pocket since I don't like jeans but probably would use my Ferrum Forge Gent.
If you are carrying one of these and a large knife what types of things do you find you use each for? Most of my knife usage could be done by any of these knives.
As long as you also like smallish autos, IMHO, the Boker Mini Kalashnikov is a high value and would works nice in the 5th pocket...
Been meaning to try that one.
That NERD tho💥😲
Great video! I’m thinking I may need the lil native. I’m currently carrying the Statgear Slinger in the fifth pocket.
My lil native almost exclusively gets carried in my watch pocket but my chaparral hardly ever gets any pocket time being the raffir noble variant. Doing my best to keep the scuffs and scratches to a minimum.
Great idea for a video. Throughly enjoyed it!
Great 5th pocket knife video I have the Tuff lite and it is a great 5th pocket knife that lil Native is a bit pricey for a small knife but to each his own
Great knives for that pocket for sure thanks for sharing
great video
ive wanted a lil native backlock for some time now
never quite enough to drop the bones for it tho
ive got dragonfly, mckenna, atmos that i usually take to workin the 5th pocket. also really like the victorinox sportsman
I love my Benchmade saibu in that pocket along with my Spyderco dice and kizer sheepdogs mini, I have both titanium and g10 minis those are my main 3 or actually 4 technically for my condom pocket lol
Cold Steel Mini Tuff Lite, back in production
I mentioned that it would be in the list if I had one. Now I do have one on the way.
Victorinox rambler for me
I've had a Rambler in my 5th pocket for about a year or so. It's a great knife. But lately I've been keeping my Leatherman Micra in there. It has waaayyy better scissors, but I'm missing a toothpick.
On my work pants the 5th pocket is so big I can put a benchmade bugout and a victorinox tinker with wiggle room.
Two more suggestions: Civivi McKenna and for your trips to good, old Europe: Real Steel Luna
The Luna is very nice. I did review it. Sold it like an idiot.
Slicey Dicey : My One is in Micarta (Jusaya Exclusive). Even lighter, 42g. Love it 🙃
That pocket for me is used for my Gerber dime mini multi tool! Love it and it has two small blades in it, one of which is a plastic cutter for those impossible to open packages 👌🏼👍👍
Boker mini Kalashnikov is a great one also
I love to put a Fisher space pen in my fifth pocket but they love to fall out so I had to stop. Any tips?
Great picks!
Serious question... Why would you need a back up. knife when you already have a knife? In case primary jams or rus out of ammo? Second question... What is this odd thing about buying a knife with great steel and the avoiding using it???
Why do you have two dogs? Because one doesn't eat enough dog food or poop on the rug enough?
Most of my favorite traditional folders are watch pocket sized and if I wasn't left handed it would carry my primary knife.
No modern folders for me, it's all traditional belt knives and two handed traditional folders.
I saw a lil native with flytanium titanium scales and it looked incredible. Bumps the price into TRM nerd territory but I wanted to ask your thoughts on a titanium scaled lil native. Too much or make your favorite 5th pocket knife even better? Thanks bud!
Kershaw shuffle with bottle opener black with black dlc blade. Under 20 bucks. But I need the lil in rex 45
Nice list
Hey slicey just got white mini bugout not really liking the white. I really like the red on yours was wondering if you used rit and how long you left yours in.
RIT DyeMore racing red. Probably a total of about 30 seconds.
@@SliceyDicey ok thank you I'll give it a try.
I carry my lil native in my 5th pocket
What about the Bestech engine? Thought you loved that one
Don't have one at the moment.
Ah gotcha! Awesome video, these are my favorite size of knife, except I carry them as primaries
Just a note: that spyderco chaparral carbon fiber is NOT a laminate, it is 100% carbon fiber as is all "Peel-Ply Carbon Fiber"
Great idea for a video! I'm surprised there was not an honorable mention for the Dragonfly 2.
It’s tiny. Kinda cheating.
@@SliceyDicey Fair enough, I've never owned a lil'native, is it noticeably larger than a Dragonfly?
BirdLaw 101 Thicker but not bigger.
i like to carry a fifth pocket knife so i dont have to hand ppl my expensive/large knives. therefore i carry a leather ps4 and its always fun handing people that 1in blade
Surprised the Copper Natrix didn't make the list
I keep a Leatherman Micra in mine.
Personally I like the Keyshaw eris
Great list, what about the Kershaw ember?
I have one and it’s okay, but just a bit too small and it’s speed safe.
Good stuff!
LOL @ fitting in a lady's 5th pocket. You know what fits in my 5th pocket? A leatherman squirt or a swiss classic SD. That's IT. Ain't nuthin bigger going in there. It's 2.5 inches deep.
I carry a Buck 309 Companion
For me it’s a victorinox cadet or recruit all day
Olamic busker!
SOG Flash 👍
Oh no...not the Chaparral. That's like telling my wife she's a side chick.
TIL - men have huge 5th pockets. I now hate my girl jeans.
Case Sowbelly
Hey Bryan!
Turn the top around
Is it silly that some knife guys have $2000 worth of knives to put in the fifth pocket of their $35 jeans?
Ye Olde Dickies?
Retired early. Denim was too thick.
Slicey Dicey Ah I see back to the Wranglers
Ohio Knife Lover Differnt ones but same model yeah. Much more typical.
Noooo, it's a condom pocket
Fifth pocket sucks always falls out when it's a nkife I have a small diamond file in there as it grips and stays and every nkife I buy I use no save queens here I pay to use mine thanks
