- Enabling video in motion (VIM) on 2012 - 2017 Audi A6 C7 4G using Ross Tech VCDs. Please consider safety when enabling VIM, it can be very distracting.

when I enter the code it says it's an invalid key. what can I do?
People with newer Audis had that issue. My was 2014 but some people with 2016/2017 said they encountered that issue. I would imagine there is a workaround by now.

I'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong but I connected the vcds cable and when I open the program I can't click anything except options. I checked if it's connected properly, I have vcds release 18.2.1

Its only for 3G MMI, not for MIB2, also C7 from 2011 - 2014
After I insert the code I get that msg:

Hi men. For my audi a6 2015 when I put the acces code( both of them ) I'm receiving error 35 " modul does not recognize the key"and i can't change that value. U have any idea what this is ?
Is it MMI 3g+ or maybe newer? I know Audi changed something in 2016 and people were saying that it doesn't work on 2016 models, but I have had viewers who were successful doing this on 2015s

Sorry, but I have no idea. I am just setting things for myself and sharing with others, but don't actually work with other Audis. There should be a way to do it, assuming that you have navi in your car, I think that makes a difference.

It depends on mmi version. I think you need mmi 3g or 3g +

I believe I've seen a previous comment that it does not because of security code. I am sure you can get it working though, just the process is a bit different
After enabling this, does it only work with DVDs or can you load videos on an SD card to watch as well?
It works with DVDs. I would assume it will work with uploaded videos as well, but have not tried
I have a friend who plays videos from his SD card, but I don't know the format of the videos accepted.

The process may be a bit different there should be a way of enabling VIM on Q7.
I have AUDI A6 C7 Sedan (4G) 2.0 TDI (177 HKR, there is no Navigation system or internet system. I couldn't play video on it. Is there any trick for this car???

There is a CD player, i'm not sure it got DVD or it just CD, I didn't try any DVD in it yet. I couldn't play video via USB. Is there special format and sample rates for the video file?
Not sure about format and sample rates. You probably just don't have DVD drive meaning you cannot play DVD in park or in motion, does not matter. Your inability to play videos from USB may be directly related to the fact that you do not have DVD drive. Maybe no video codecs built in or no high end graphic card that can support video. Check if you can play DVD in park.
does it work on Audi A5 Sportback 2017?
The short answer would be yes, meaning you can enable VIM on that car but the process is probably slightly different as I am assuming your MMI is newer model.
Felek do you have any idea of where i can find any information about that? Because, as you sad, I couldn’t find anything about the newer model..

Depends on the MMI version. Can you play movies when parked? If yes then you should be able to hack the mmi so it plays when driving

I bought the "enthusiast" edition for $199. I see the other adapter you are talking about. That one has Wi-Fi capability, that's why is double the price. The cheaper one works just fine.
Will this work with 2g? Not sure how the mmi systems work as I just got the s4, but its a fully loaded 2015 audi s4. At least aside from the 2g mmi which I am surprised isn't a 3g as I see them on older cars than mine.

+Tomasz Tyczkowski did you do security access before adaptatuon? I would not recommend using my longcode, it may really mess up things for you.

I think VIM will work with disc and SD card but I have not tried.
The security access doesn’t work for my A6 c7 avant 2016. I used the vim decoder and serial number, but no access with none of the two passwords. Any body know another way to “unlock” video in motion?

Someone in the comments said it did not. Only up to 2014. You can get it working on 2015 but the access code part from this video doesn't work.
