HOW TO GET AUDI A6 & A7 CARPLAY FOR FREE

- I'm Giving out Carplay for Audi A6 & A7 for FREE. Just follow this guide. Really simple.
1. ENGINE RUNNING, KEY IN VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES, GO TO MENU SYSTEM, SETUP MMI, VERSION INFORMATION & MAKE SURE YOUR VERSION IS MHI2_ER_AU57X & MHI2_ER_AUG11X
2. GO TO FACTURY SETTINGS, RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS, SELECT YES
3. GO TO MY INSTAGRAM PAGE ( / alsatch_ , HIT FOLLOW, THEN CLICK THE LINK IN MY BIO, SELECT AUDI MMI CARPLAY UPDATE SOFTWARE, SAVE IT TO YOUR PC/LAPTOP, UNZIP THE FILES TO AN SD CARD, THEN PLACE SD CARD INTO THE CARD SLOT IN YOUR VEHCLE.
4. CLICK BACK & TOP LEFT BUTTONS TOGETHER TO OPEN THE RED ENGINEERING MENU, SELECT UPDATE, SD1, STANDARD, START UPDATE, START, THEN WAIT ABOUT 35 TO 40 MINUTES
5. CLICK CONTINUE, CANCEL VERSION COMPARE, THEN WAIT AS SYSTEM REBOOTS (SCREEN WILL CLOSE AND RE OPEN AFTER ABOUT 15 SECONDS)
6. PLUG IN YOUR PHONE CABLE, AND PLUG IN YOUR PHONE, CHECK YOUR SOFTWARE VERSION TO MAKE SURE ITS DIFFERENT, THEN ON THE MENU SELECT 'AUDI SMARTPHONE' SELECT ACTIVATE APPLE CARPLAY

Worked for me today. Tried with usb at first didn't seem to see it. So found an old phone sd card and an adapter and that worked! Had to bring the sub folders to the front also I think as it worked with everything out of the initial folder. Otherwise went exactly as described and my software was a slightly different version to begin with. If your able to follow instructions and have a small amount of pc knowledge deffinately give it a go. 100% worth it.
When I go to the Instagram link it says its not available
I downloaded the file but it doesn’t let me open/unzip the file since it’s a document, any tips?

Hey after unzipping the file i noticed that there still a zipped file inside the folder do i have to unzip that too oe just leave it?

Hello Arjun , Is your Audi the matix version or the earlier one. I am from Mumbai and wonder if this will work in my A6C7 . Mine is 2015 2.0 Tdi. Also the download link does not work , Any chance you have saved the zip file offline still.
Works a treat! Use a high speed card to update in 15mins.

My SW version was the same as yours in the video, followed every step and everything now works as it should, not just the nee CarPlay but also everything else. Funnily enough I found this video after seeing eBay offers to sell the same software, this is awesome! I just need a road trip now.
Is the USB port supposed to have a specific marking on it that indicates compatibility? I saw a clip of an installation on an RS 6 which had a phone symbol next to the port, and my C7.5 A6 says USB 2 but no phone icon. Would this also be specific to cars with the technology package? Mine was specced with tech package but would be good to know if so.
A7 2016 facelift - worked for me, took about 40 minutes for the update to complete. I had the same version as in the video

I installed it on my 2016 Audi A6 Avant, everything ok.
I remind you that once you have downloaded the indicated file, you must extract all the files in the root directory of the SD card, otherwise it won't run the update because the SD card is not recognized.

Is your version an rmc version?
after installing this, does it affect any of the control on the steering wheel? Also, when I pressed on "P" to enable the parking sensor (or if I put the car in reverse gear), is the backup camera and also the parking sensors still taking over the monitor?
Only thing it changes is of you hold the speech button with android auto turned on it uses google instead of the car
Does this update cause any issues with the Bose system? I read a technical guide which suggested that a check had to be done to make sure that the Bose system wasn't affected.

Works perfectly. This is not a scam. Just installed on my 2017 A6. Just one tip - after unzip, copy all (5+) files in root folder of SD card.

When I put the SD Card in thé véhicule, as you did in your video at 2'45, thé SD letters (to choose the origin of the information) are not highlighted. So I can't access to the SD Card. Very nice tutorial. Can you provide information if it is possible to perform the same on an Audi A5 Sportback year 20014? I do not have a USB connection in the arm rest console. PLease let me know if it work and is recommended to be done?
Model year 20014 is only available in 18000 years so it wont be possible to perform it yet.

Thanks, i updated A6 2017, new icon appeared but with Samsung android phone it is not connecting. No one around Has an iPhone to test if carplay works. Anything else from android is needed to make it work?

Just ensure to keep unzipped files on home folder, otherwise it won’t detect SD card!
what do you mean by that? I updated my A6 2016. I can see the Audi smartphone option but my CarPlay isn't getting detected

Hi. Thanks for the informative tutorial. I tried all the steps and for some reason all the files updated except the speech system and RCC. After the update the version has changed, but I still don’t have AirPlay in fact my older speech system is now disabled. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
you may need to look online for an older version of the MMI software, otherwise, worst case scenario, it would have to be a main dealer fix

Amazing, works seamlessly! The guy saying it's a scam is clearly one of the same people trying to charge me £60 for this exact update, the irony!! Had a small problem getting the files on the SD card. You need to put the root files only on the SD card not all the other empty folders as it won't recognise the SD card, the update itself is a doddle!

I got to Engineering Mode and tried to read as a SD 1 file. It shows me an error saying parsing error. I am assuming my version of MMI is too low as well as this is European version meanwhile mine is US version? Could you let me know?

hey nice videos im about to attempt this on my a6. just quick one question. my mmi screen motor is messed up something wrong with it iguess its broken screen turns off and on but it doesn't go back inside. would that be a problem while updating?

Will the language be only English after the update or can it be changed to, for example, Swedish?
I have had this retrofitted in my Audi A7 2017. A few months later, the system completely stopped working. I am not sure if it is related to this or not. However, Audi said the MMI unit needs to be replaced. The cost for the new unit is an eye-watering £4850. Luckily, it is still under warranty. I will have it done at the dealer next time. No more messing about. I know the central USB port needs replacing before you do the upgrade. So, I will not advise it if it is not done properly.
TheNavManDOTcom Ben Weaving is a UK based guy with a proven track record of MMI updates and more. Look him up, its not too expensive (£150 ish depending on what you want) and he's a real nice chap as well.

@Keioh Bunch Yes, it has been fixed, but I am not convinced they replaced the whole unit or just the bluetooth. Ever so often now, the music stops playing when it is played via Bluetooth.
If it didn't work for you, DO A RESET OF THE SYSTEM SO THAT IT GOES BACK TO THE VERSION YOU ALREADY HAD BEFORE.

I’m not sure if the software on the link provided works but this system definitely worked for me.
I tried to download the file but it was super slow so I ended buying the option from eBay for £30.
Followed the steps and voila.

for me it DID NOT WORK. BIN files and others. I put them in my Audi A6 2016 and it doesn't READ them, it says empty folder. why I deleted everything and nothing works in my Audi anymore.
