I just wish tuners here in my country had a better understanding of these engines. They run them at higher boosts and roll lots of coal while having less power and efficiency.
Really interesting video. I am currently tryin to stage 3 my honda civic mk9 (2013) 1.6 idtec which unlike the fabia comes with bosch ecu and a cp4.1 pump and a 6 speed. Setup i will be running parts being fitted just now. I have a stage 3 (gtd1244vz) gtd 1752 core from muchboost, stage 3 twin friction clutch from cg motorsport. I have snow performance stage 2 vc-50 fitted only running the 30ml 😂 on the stage 1 (160hp 380nm) map so far but even that little makes run nicer. I have a #2&3 nozzle aswell and can add power nozzle. 19 row oil cooler 2"twin pass fmic. I just got 2 standard pipes and they match up ok to fit fmic with alloy joint. This is a home build bar the mapping. I never built a car in my life just thought y no 😅😅😅 I watched to many these videos ❤😂😊 honda isn't the easiest to find information on but I did get chatting to one guy he had done a crv and thats only point of reference I had and all he said was keep the power no more than 300ft lbs at 2k and I was sold 😂😂 keep er lit baiiiissss

I’ve tried to get B16s but even buying them places won’t send me them when they find out it’s going on a fl fabia as it’s part pq24 and part pq25. PQ25 would be ideal as it’s got a PQ25 rear axle as well as the PQ25 front end but no one would send me a set. We did discuss just getting a set and seeing if they will fit but then having to replaced the engine took that budget. Other option is BC racing but that involves drilling strut towers that I want to avoid
I one million percent agree. My 328d is at its limit short of full deletes. I’m guessing I’m close to 240-250rwhp with my current mods, would love throw it on a dyno to see the actual numbers.

Curious, you keep mentioning duration. Wasn't it possible to lower the duration in the Siemens ecu? Since you are making more power with the Bosch ecu I assume you raised the rail pressure? Or did you fit much larger injectors? If you did change the injectors, wasn't it possible to calibrate them in the Siemens ecu and lower the duration? I'm still confused why the engine couldn't be managed by the Siemens ecu for the same power. Or simply the Siemens 1.6 ecu needed to much to update to fit the rev band of the 2 litre, since you already mentioned that they don't have the same rev limit.
to lower duration you need larger injectors. Bosch rail pressure can easily be 200bar higher, dictated by the injectors mainly. Just fitting bigger injectors would help a bit but they are already on edge.
Q: as a 1.6 stock owner myself, what would you say the best mods are for these cars? I'm looking for a bit more power without compromising reliability or giving cancer to the people behind me. Currently have a off the shelf map and a silly filter.
I'd like this conversion to a stock looking 1.6 tdi ambiente. Full sleeper-mode but can surprise anyone thats trying :P I'm doing 30000km each year sooo I might need it to be reliable as well :) Also, is there a map that is corresponds to a stage 1 1.6 tdi ( 140-150hp ) to make it sneak through the yearly car test ?
1.6 has bore x stroke: 79.5 by 80.5 millimetres (3.13 in × 3.17 in), stroke ratio: 0.99:1. 2.0 has bore x stroke: 81.0 by 95.5 millimetres (3.19 in × 3.76 in), stroke ratio: 0.85:1 Is it big diffrence in bore ?
@@DarksideDevelopments yes i thought so 😅 once I went Stage 2 with my 1.6 TDI MK6, the tranny blew every 10.000kms. it shot a huge hole in the bell the first time. But the engine just took all the beating like a champ. I redlined it and tracked it all the time. Only one problem we never sorted out: it got very hot really fast. But it was a great little car.

Up and running delete everything with Celtic tune. What’s the useable engine power limit for these things ( 5k budget ) 100% daily driver Love from scotland 🏴
Did you manage to workout the gaspedal? On the 6R polo with 2.0 we "needed" to use a A1's gaspedel to make it drive with the "SAFE" computer. The 1.6 and 2.0 computer worked diferent, one was NTC and the other PTC. Or are you not giving it all away... Also wondering did you, like me, keep the radiator form the 1.6? Does the gear indicator work right in the Fabia? I'm using the original gearbox, mine is still off, since I'm not running Golf size wheels... It conflicts with the cruise in lower gears. After 3rd, it's off, but atleasth cruise works ;) Don't be a fool like me and order the 6spd linkage, there is a simple lockout pin for 6th in the 5spd linkage..
We did not swap the pedal, all worked fine! We fitted 2.0 Radiator, 1.6 is too small for track use. Indicator works but says ^6 when in 5th! haha. Linkage is same on most 5/6 speed cars now.
@@DarksideDevelopmentsthe rad makes sense... I only have a tune, no extra hardware. For daily use, 196horses are "sufficient". The stock 1.6 exhaust is still on there as well, dpf is emptied, it was done quite budget friendly on mine 👌. We sold the engine with turbo (360Tkm) and injectors separately. Gearbox had to go since it was already complaining.

@@DarksideDevelopments I had a look at the current ecu (PCR2.1) and the new ecu (edc17c46) and both have the +12v, ground, Can H and Can L on the same pins on the T94 plug, I guess the wires needed to be repinned is coming from the CECM? Current engine CLNA
Put the money you have in to buying a car with engine you want.. You will save lots and insurance will be cheaper, plus you will not damage all other parts not designed for extra power and torque.
You little cheats , dropping a 2l in it . Very good customer service. Did it bend the rods for a too long power stroke ( injector advance). Very good content. Why not run the old ECU for AC and to keep the imbob light of. Get the old ECU to activate the inject main relay and powers. Remove the imbob coding for the new ECU so it just looks to be turned on .
We are not sure, it had a lot of torque so thats likely the killer. Advance is not too aggressive. I doubt it would be a simple wiring job to have 2 ECU's!
Can you get back to Scott about my wiring on my caddy he has emailed you twice I asked youse to do the conversion to start with and now not had my van for 4months due to all the secrets about the pd conversion from sdi we are meant to be a car community

Great work, I have the 2.0 tdi in my Seat Altera, and now I know where to take it when I win the lottery.
Should do a water/meth install guide video, showing where to fit the nozzle's,pump,what boost to spray at, wiring ect

The GTC1549VZ from the 2 litre 170 is a great upgrade for them i ran it for 2 years

Bertie's Works it helps intake temps even standard or remapped get very hot very quickly
And there was me very happy with my 1.6 Tdi Leon mapped to 147 thought it was quick when I had it 😂

It's not huge but at 1600us it's a lot I think. Stroke matters too.

So the Siemens 1.6tdi parts (injectors, Pressure pump, rail and all the loom, continental ecu) fit also on the 2.0 engine block and head? :D
When we swapped to the 2.0 engine, we used everything from the 2.0 Injectors fuel pump, turbo, ECU and wiring.
The Siemens stuff will fit but it doesn't work well on the 2.0

So, any cr140 of 2009 of vw or audi can manage tuning from 140hp to around 200 and have no problems? Like the problem of Renault 1.5dci
200 is a stretch, 180-190 normal.

BKD is better with just a turbo IF its not got a cracked head ect.

The engines are not silly money, the main cost is the labour. This is not a conversion we would normally take on.
