I believe that in Lagos, it's a sin to build tall buildings close to each other and build a nice walkable surrounding. That's why other cities like Nairobi, Abidjan, Dakar, Addis Ababa... look more advanced. I don't know if they have more tall buildings, but they for sure have better city planning

    • @soumi1984

@Jamo419 Thank you for not taking my observation the wrong way. I grew up in Abuja, and I've traveled to many West, East, and North African countries. I'm living in China since 2014, and the reason why I always complain about Nigeria is that I know our potential, and we have everything to surpass South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and even east asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia but here we are in 2024, competing with small countries like Kenya, Ivory coast... I don't have a problem with Abuja because I believe the city is growing on the right way, but Lagos was supposed to look like the worlds top-tier seaside cities like Singapore, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro... We have the GDP, manpower and natural resources to do it. Our problem is the mediocre government, non qualified city planners, and disorganization. I don't know why people get mad whenever we point out the sad reality of our country, I'm not happy to go to Addis Ababa or Nairobi and see more development in infrastructure, public transportation than Nigeria but it is what it is.
