Actually riding a bike gives you more knowledge of a place than with cars. Okada bikers also know all the roads and places in the area they ply.

The removal of subsidies have changed the way people move, the amount of vehicles on the road etc it has reduced traffic in many areas. The bulk of the population differs from area to area, this is mainly parts of the Lagos Islands.
People are always surprised to see Lagos looking serene for the most part! They expect a huge sprawling chaotic jungle! But societies evolve, progression is a must! They did however film this on a Sunday morning ( wise decision) 👊🏾🇳🇬👊🏾🇳🇬!!!

@ if you have meguards in any area. Lekki Ikoyi etc. they form aggregates. Tbh they are the least aggressive of our people but seeing them in groups of more than 5 is intimidating for a female taking a walk
I believe that in Lagos, it's a sin to build tall buildings close to each other and build a nice walkable surrounding. That's why other cities like Nairobi, Abidjan, Dakar, Addis Ababa... look more advanced. I don't know if they have more tall buildings, but they for sure have better city planning

I'm living in China since 2014, and the reason why I always complain about Nigeria is that I know our potential, and we have everything to surpass South Africa, Morocco, Egypt, and even east asian countries like Thailand, Indonesia but here we are in 2024, competing with small countries like Kenya, Ivory coast... I don't have a problem with Abuja because I believe the city is growing on the right way, but Lagos was supposed to look like the worlds top-tier seaside cities like Singapore, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro... We have the GDP, manpower and natural resources to do it. Our problem is the mediocre government, non qualified city planners, and disorganization. I don't know why people get mad whenever we point out the sad reality of our country, I'm not happy to go to Addis Ababa or Nairobi and see more development in infrastructure, public transportation than Nigeria but it is what it is.
