No good deed goes unpunished! Your wife finds you a new permission and washes your dirty pants, yet she’s being accused of misplacing your nifty tools ;-). I’m dumbfounded anyone would think any of your detecting videos are staged or fake! Don’t let those detractors get to you. Your channel is fantastic and it’s rise in popularity confirms it. Keep it up and hope to see the “band” together again before too long.

I love your series on youtube ! In 1973 ,aged 17 I passed my driving test and my Gran bought me a car ! So not only did I drive to school.I purchased a metal detector and spent hours searching the coves of Cornwall looking for 'treasure ',however I found your favourites ,aluminium cans, pull rings and spendable coins .I did however find a silver ring ! I have always enjoyed English Social History and recently I have been looking for a 'lost Cornish Chapel and I think I found the rough area that it was situated ,a few fields away from my house .Lo and behold I found a few items of crockery and blue china and 50 years after my metal detecting I found an amazing find ! Doing a visual search of a newly ploughed potato field after some really heavy downpours I found a 1725 halfpenny just lying on the surface ,what luck ! I have got to get myself a metal detector ! PS ,stick spare water, tools etc in the boot of your car ,so it will always be available to help you,Best Wishes ,Steve

Hi there John, I have watched all of your videos back to back whilst sick here in Australia 🇦🇺
You should have a million subscribers. Your videos are fantastic, respectful and informative. Your finds are ridiculous. I am lucky to get a coin dating back to early 1800’s 😅😊 So I have to watch your videos to get some inspiration, even though I will never find real treasure, I still get excited when I find my little bits 😝 You’re melting there and we’re freezing 🥶 here. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

I've been enjoying your solo trips, especially on the last new permission area where you found 38 coins. The latest new permission will probably need to be checked out further. I also enjoyed the "warts-and-all" video. It just shows everyone how rare it is to find such great treasures as the coins etc.
    Thanks John!

I think that even if you "boldly go where no man has gone before", that you will find a bottle top and pull tab!! Yeah, I'm chuckling, Phoenix Metro Area here. It's 101F (38.3C) today, looks like it might cool down to the high 90s(36.6C) for the rest of the week. Lows are in the upper 60s(20C) this week, which will be nice. We'll go into hibernation mode about the middle of June and stay indoors until the middle of September when it cools back down. The locals try to be off the streets by 10:00am, no later than noon and then don't get active again until after dark.

😅 you are right about people laughing about too hot for a Scottish person. Here in California we are trying to enjoy the 90s. It will be in the 100s soon enough😢. I enjoyed your video today. Using the speaker was great to listen to you. Also, the little spoon seemed worn, but if it was a grapefruit spoon they are small and pointy, sometimes with a serrated edge. Just a thought. Time for you to change out of black, maybe green or tan color shirts.
