@@Soul_of_the_Og I think the Genshin team should talk to the Honkai Star Rail team because to me at least Honkai has a better energy system they went from 160 at the start up to 240 now plus a overflow system which stores your leftover energy after you max out and that stores around 2000 energy or so for me I think Honkai is upping it's game over Genshin I also think farming is more easy in Honkai since you can auto everything because it's turn-based gameplay.
star rail update would be best and remove flat stats like i kindna got bored of star rail but it has 240 resin +overflow i cloud farm easier there etc worse stats than genshin tho... or easier to have bad artifacts
@@levtieart3409 yeah, in HSR crit rate/crit dmg have literally disappeared from main AND sub stats as well, Genshin is leaking into the game very fast.
Raising the cap and increasing resin refresh rate would be glorious. Also having a pool that collects any over cap up to certain amount would be lovely. Star rail already done all three and it feels fantastic.
One of the worst parts is that even if you do get a perfect artifact, even you do get optimal sub-stat growth, that too can be screwed over since sub-stat growth is also random with minimum and maximum values
Yeah the percentage to get the main stat and the sub stats you seek is usually a*s since you're most likely to get flat health/attack (they represent 15% both of them) but when you upgrade the sub stats they're 25%/25%/25%/25% so if it rolled entirely on defense you're just very unlucky.
I think it would help a ton if they gave away more fragile resin in general. It wouldn't hurt the balance of the game and wouldn't hurt the causal users either since they don't use them anyway.
Literally in hsr they've been giving out tens of fragile uhh trailblaze powers to players in MAIL why wouldn't they do the same for genshin? Like I genuinely don't understand

To help everyone with future headaches, it's okay to use a cope 4star atifact if it rolls right. The game is not hard enough to where the rarity of one artifact will stop you from a 36star abyss.
Or just not bother forcing set bonuses!! Going from a 5* to a 4* piece is usually really bad, much worse than a minor decrease from running 2pc2pc or rainbow. Only like VV and Deepwood are non-negotiable
I know this may sound like a drop in a bucket, but I would like to have a system that lets the player transform the artifacts' set into a different one (kinda like the system we have for swapping weekly bosses' pieces) This would fix the annoying issues of getting the great pieces on the set you're not looking for and also having your set power crept by a future set that's slightly better

Ppl also forget that it is totaly F2p game if you want to. So I support their right to do whats best for their business. Atm the game is at a good state. all crybabies for artifacts are just crybabies. You can 36 star the hardest content with mid artefacts and any unit. After the first 3 welkins I am f2p and play less than 2 years. I can bit abyss 36 with 6-7 very good teams +with a 60 sec to spare. I have all my units that I play on reasonable artefacts. again f2p.

It’s just funny how the logic of Hoyo doesn’t do (insert complaint here) for us so that we won’t quit, but then there’s other things that actually tick people off that exist in the game is hilarious. But despite whatever flaws the game has. I do enjoy it. And you’re right. You don’t need perfect artifacts to 36 star the abyss. Not even maxed talents. Understanding teams and rotations will take you all the way. And you have 7 teams as a f2p is amazing.

Its even easy if you get some units like Nahida, kazuha, C2 Kuki, XQ, XL, Beny, alhaitham etc. atm I actually pull only chars that I find fun storywise or gameplay wise. I didnt pull Yellan for example cos I find her too similiar to XQ but I got Dehya... cos she is cool. Moreover as F2p all my chars are level 70 at least with 20 of them level 90. I have 20 mil mora, 800 books etc. I will say that in fact the game is more fun as F2p. After I pull 5 star I want to play with that char at least 3-4 months. Pulling 5 star every 3 months feels like bigger event.

It would genuinely alleviate the grind so much and it would indeed be more bearable in the long run. Great vid Soul, keep up the great work! 🙌🏻 EDIT: My suggestion to fix the artifact problem is just decreasing the resin replenish time. Making it like 1 every 5 minutes would help a lot! I might even venture to say I would love to see 1 every 3 minutes. Obviously not gonna happen, but it would be nice tbh. Also increase the Condensed from 5 to 7 at the very least!
My idea is simply reserve resin similar to Honkai star rail reserve "resin". Having resin that you can still collect over time will mean that you won't lose time for letting your resin cap, and you can hold 10x the resin in reserve like in star rail. I think this is a better way to do resin.

How I would fix the resin/artifact system: 1. Make the energy system the same as star rail. Make it 240 or more, refresh faster, and added excess energy system. No need of that condensed Resin to waste ur time chasing butterflies for 5 minutes too. U might say it's unrealistic but Genshin changed their dailies and team setup because people in Star Rail like it. So In my opinion it's realistic they improve Genshin system to HSR. 2. Give artifact leveling materials when u salvage artifacts. Coming for Star Rail again, relics turned into upgrading materials when salvaged, this removes the need to expand ur artifact storage cause that materials is put on other type of storage, gives you more convinient when upgrading, no need to multiple clicking "Auto add" cause the thing stacks, Genshin artifact max lvl is on 20 compare to HSR 15, so Genshin need more XP (assumption maybe the xp amount is the same but idk) and lvling mats is more needed than Mora. Mora itself u can already get when ur AR 60 from the excess XP. 3. Make the artifact substats already upgraded, and unlocked when u level them up. Looking at another game that has similar system, the artifact substats is already maxed (like 30% crit DMG substat) but it's unlocked and not used unless u upgrade it till lvl 20. This makes it very good because now, u know what artifact to invest and put lvl on before you upgrade them, no more need to pray for RNG Gods to upgrade the correct substats, cause it's going to go flat defense anyway. 4. Put Self Modeling Resin. There's no need to explain, u said so in the vid itself about needing anemo cup. It'll improve getting the correct main stats. 5. Substat reroll system. Have a rare material that can downgrade ur artifact back to lvl 0 so u can reroll the substats again. To balance it don't give back the materials that u already put in that artifact. So now u can reroll that Def, Crit, Crit DMG, ATK substat of yours. 6. Make the crafting like Star rail where u can pick the piece u want to pick and new artifacts is immediately craftable. Having to hoard a material and craft the artifact the moment they release without touching the domain is gonna feel much better. If u disagree with the 10:1 or 3:1 ratio, I'm personally fine with it, that's just subjective topic. That's my suggestions, I have more but it's probably unrealistic. Cause Genshin Hoyo wants ur time and money let's be real.

I have been farming Marechausee since it came out and I have 3 usable flowers and no other pieces. It took me until Fontaine came out to finish my Gilded set. Why do I still play this game 🤡

An idea I've always thought of was just lowering the resin cost of certain things. For example, make weapon acesion mats like 10 or 5 resin. It fixes the problem of needing to farm multiple things on the game and I honestly think it then gives injerent value to some thongs you spend your resin on compared to others. Also it's not like 20 is the minimum amount of resin you can spend on something since the lowest is 10 on the blue enhancement crystals.
I've had the idea of a consumable item that would temporarily increase resin refresh speed , like maybe once per big event you get an item that increases refresh speed by 25% (from 8 minutes to 6 minutes) for like a week
I still think its silly that they don't just raise the amount of Resin based on either World Lvl or Adventure Rank, I mean its not unheard of for other gacha games to have progression in their energy resource systems, or just flat out lower the cost because as someone coming from FGO, the Resin cost for domains and weekly bosses is insane compared to FGOs AP costs.
Artifact farming reminds me of the gear farm in many Diablo-like games Hell some of them are even MORE of an rng hellscape than in Genshin in terms of getting the stats you want if you can believe it The difference between them though really is Resin; in those games you can just grind as long as you want until you get the gear you desire, but in Genshin you're so heavily timegated and blocked by Resin (like you said, only 9 artifacts a day at most assuming you don't replenish it) that it feels significantly worse to end up with a pile of useless garbage (which you will 98% of the time) than you will in other games, since you can't even keep grinding for that dopamine fix
As someone who likes to go artifact farming, I also believe in choosing their own artifacts to build characters. It is still a sort of a gacha system when it comes down to it, with main stats, substats, solo, and relying on rolls to even solo get the right substat to solo roll. The same way I also would love that solo the gacha system was player friendly solo, for all of us really are you okay.
I appreciate that you're trying to stay within Mihoyo's business model, but the core issue of the artifact system is that THERE ARE 5 LEVELS OF RNG and the best way to fix it would be to lower than number. Probably the most reasonable would be to allow sets or specific pieces to be pre-selectable. Just one of those alone would be a major improvement, but two would be god-like. As annoying as the randomness of stats can be, it's nothing new and starting back from the beginning if you get the wrong piece is balanced by being able to feed a useless piece imo. It's the fact that it takes forever just to get the right piece on the right set that you want that's overkill! But again, lowering any of the randomness would go a long way to alleviate how god-awful the gearing system is. It's one of the reasons I'm further not interested in playing HSR and I lament over how it'll most likely be what happens in ZZZ. T.T
at AR55+ they need to make it so you can get 2 artifacts MINIMUM for 20 resin runs. and the balance out the % of each main stat. i'm probably wrong, but last i read, HP%/DEF% was around 25% and the elemental stats were around 10%. not to mention, i think they also change the % depending on the artifact domain (this is probably not feasible but my tin hat theory). for example, getting DEF% sands in every domain, except the Husk domain. like how??
In my opinion, all grinding systems in every gacha game ever waste time. This would be perfectly fine on its own if it weren't for the fact that most grinding is incredibly repetitive and boring. Games are meant to be fun and to pass the time, but grinding in such games goes against the very purpose of games.,,,
I was literally just commenting somethings similar to this yesterday. I wouldn't mind having to grind so much if 1. It wasn't so limited as to tie much grinding you can do in a day and 2. Was more fun and respected the players time. It took me 3 months to get enough good em pieces in the dendro damaged domain to get my nahida to 1k em.
@@Sun.ce.214 In my opinion, you should be able to logically track how your grinding is going, and how long it will take to reach certain goals. I'm not against the concept of grind, but I'd rather be grinding materials to make something, than grinding the _chance_ to get something better than what I have. I'd rather go mining for 300 units of iron to make a better sword, than kill some elite mob several hundred times, who has a less than 1% drop chance for it. I can track the progress on the 300 iron. I can't track shit when it comes to mathematically impossible drop chances.
The basic thing to do in order to take a step toward making artifact farming better is making the chances to roll particular sub stats equal across the board, the current higher chances to roll def or hp over other stats is not adequate
having two different types of resin would be a good idea. One variant of resin could be for artifact domains, while the other variant would be for everything else. Of course each variant would have there own condensed versions, and fragile resin and transient resin could fill either or. Another thing is i personally dont think adding more resin is a good idea, now some may say "now i have more resin to split between farming artifacts and characters mats" but in reality they would just use it all for artifacts, and in the end all it would do is slightly increase there chance of getting better artifacts. hot take i know, i just dont think an extra 40 or 80 resin would mean much of anything.
Yeee a similar system exists in epic seven. You gotta farm a certain number of gears so that you can choose the set you need and it'll give a gear of the hightes rarity. Cannot choose main stat but hey, whatever loosens the rng up a little :)
I think one of the really good ways those things could be implemented could be by putting them in abyss shop, where the currency would be stars from spiral abyss you've collected. Even when your account is not cracked you should be able to clear 9 and 10 easily, maybe 11, and that would not only help both newer players to make their account better a tiny bit quicker, it would help veterans with limiting amount of time they have to spend farming even more, given they spend so much time doing that already, but it would also be a good motivation to actually go and do spiral abyss.
How to fix the resin system 1.) cut the wait time for one resin in half/make it 4 minutes instead. 8 minutes is absurd 2.) cut the resin cost for everything in half. So everything that's 20 is now 10, everything that's 40 is now 20, the trounce domain bosses can stay 30 permanently though 3.) Increase the amount of materials dropped in domains (this goes especially for mora, exp books, and talent books.) 4.) Increase the resin cap, it's been at 180 since 2.0? Maybe even before that, I don't recall 5.) Increase the amount of Condensed Resin we can make How to fix the artifact system 1.) Let us choose which set we want to farm. Going into an artifact domain needing/wanting to grind for a specific set and not getting a single 5 star piece of the desired set feels incredibly awful 2.) Get rid of the flat stat bonuses, no one likes them, we're tired of them, be gone 3.) Increase the odds of getting Crit rate/dmg/EM as a main stat for the circlet 4.) Idk how it'd work but instead of having every elemental dmg type, have it be an Elemental DMG cup instead, phys can stay since there are some characters that still want that 5.) Instead of dropping one 5 star piece, rarely 2, why not drop 2 when spending a single use of resin (so spend 20, get 2 artis guaranteed, with a chance of getting 3)
i agree with the idea of increasing the rate of which you regain resin, i also like how star rail does it, if you don't spend it, it stores it but at a slower rate, casuals win by not losing out on getting capped out, and the tryhards are self explanatory, another thing that could prove useful is to increase the purchase cap on transient resin, everytime your teapot increases a level. let's say at level 1, you can't purchase any at level 5, you can purchase 1 and at 10 you can purchase 2. it's not big but it helps those of us who really wanna be optimal
Decreasing Resin regeneration rate from 8 minutes to 6 minutes and increasing the cap from 160 to 240, as well as increasing Condensed Resin cap from 5 to 6 would be a very good change that wouldn't even hurt miHoYo at all.
I wish they make condensed resin unlimited. It will not break the game since 1. the amount of resin you accumulate over time is the same as you play daily. 2. It help people who are having day to day job or just dont have any time on weekdays to play by just login, condensed all resin and burn all of them in the weekend. 3. Also help people who dont know what to farm, still new to the game, casual people who dont play that much but still want to build their favourite current/future character to hoard a lot of resources and have fun burn them later It is similar to reserve resin in Star Rail but better
I think it’s worth combining all the cups that increase the damage of elements into one type of cup that increases the damage of all elements by the same percentage as the cups that we have now. In our game, all the characters have the same type of elements, why do we even need this division by element? The developers are only making heroes like Chun-yun or Kandakia worse

Well honestly i don't think they will remove the flat state beacuse they want us to keep comeing back to get that god piece but what i think is fair is increase the the resin cap and change the rate that you get resin back it should be like 24 hour to get back to the cap and maybe they can add a relic rerolling system to were you can reset the level from 20 to 0 but as you said this need to be a rare to get and they should add it in the star glitter shop like one or two to make the shop better beacuse I already have my C6 Lisa LMAO 😅 beacuse why not add other thinks it whould be cool for sure

I think there should be a domain that costs only fragile resin but at the end you can choose an artifact at the end to change a substat to one of your choice, but you can only do once a day or week for balancing reasons
What genshin impact needs is ENDGAME CONTENT. Without it, all the artifact farming is pointless, there is no objectives and no reason to build teams at all.
Why just don't do like in HSR? When the resin you've missed just piles up separately. It's such a great thing! I'm a working person, one of the people you call "casual" (though it doesn't prevent me from 36* abyss or doing all the events and stuff, i'm not f2p, i buy welkin here and there, not even every month, usually 3-4 times a year, and yeah, i'm day 1 player). And sometimes i can't login into the game every single day. I can be too tired or simply busy with smth else. It'd be so great not to see my resin go to waste. I won't feel pressure to login today that way knowing that every extra resin is stored separately there and i can login later and spend it like fragile. Yeah, let it also restore slower, but it'll be of a huge help in the long run. That way you won't feel like you've missed smth. And if someone says that it'll dmg the online attendance (or whatever it's called), i assure you - it won't. People who log in daily may miss a day or two, but if they tend to login everyday they'll continue to do so. And people who already log in twice or so a week will continue to log in same way but now they will play longer, 'cuz they'd need to spend that extra resin, and maybe they will start logging in more often, who knows. Anyway i don't think this feature will ruin the game.
I never experienced it to be tedious just because i only farmed 2 artifact domain in my one year playthrough. Thats for two character i.e neuvillette and wanderer. My moon resins thing is 100+ and rarely comverts them. The only thing i struggled with is getting elemental damage bonus
A few things that would come to mind would be if we could just buy fragile resin in the srarglitter shop. Would solve the problem? Maybe not but I think it would be an improvement. Or maybe some events where the cost of all domains could be cut in half. Or more resin as event rewards or adventure handbook Maybe rise up the condensed resin limit at least to 10. Those are some of my thoughts.
i disagree with the star rail thing because guaranteeing main stats is just worthless if you don't get good substats to go with it. especially if that modifying item is rare like you said. i'd rather it be able to guarantee 1 good substat
yeah i farmed the fontain artefact domain from the release first for liney and then for wrio. I logged in daily twice first to condense and then to use all the resin on said artefakt domain. I got my first marasussy artefact with over 30 crit value TODAY. I leveled mostly only 4 statliner with both crit stats and after around 28 +20 marasussy artefacts i got my first attack sands that has 10.9% critrate and 13.4% critdamage which is the first artefact overall that has over 30 critvalue from this set. And the best is I have a really above average golden trupe set from farming this domain. Im glad i have friends to farm artefacts regulary, i couldnt imagine playing this game solo because artefact rng in this game is amongst the worst of any game i played.
i might be insane because I genuinely enjoy artifact farming (same goes for relics in star rail too) but I think I enjoy it too much because there are some characters that I haven’t built yet because I’m so glued to artifact farming. Example is Childe who I got a year ago, but he is still 40/50 yet he has max artifacts on him.
i have been focus farming for ayaka for 2+ years and collect cryo characters, and i haven't gotten a decent cryo cup, below 30cv no atk/er sub stat on any
- I just want an epitomized path to target the main stat I want on a specific artifact piece. - if an artifact reaches Level 20 and I’m not happy with the subrolls, I want to be able to re-roll the subrolls. sometimes you get a piece with Crit Rate and Crit DMG, but the rolls all go to the fricken useless stats such as Flat DEF or Flat HP. so i wanna be able to re-roll a level 20 artifact at least just once. - a mechanic where we can make 1 substat of our choice to not roll. the subrolls will only roll on the 3 substats of our choice. - also, I wanna be able to convert artifact pieces into those bottles of artifact level up liquid.
I would like to add something as well mr soul *Cough* For the article set i love the idea of getting rid of all the flat numbers (except EM) because lets face it barely or doesn't help at all to the damage. And rerolling at least 5 time is amazing but maybe let it reset when spiral abyss resets or when a new version comes out(i know this one is dumb but eh it could work) and of course changing the mainstat would be a DREAM to have since i have good enough substarts but not a good main stat(not leveled just locked) so it would be amazing if they did implement it But i aslo want to add something... If hoyo can just let us have a full 4 liner at higher domain levels. Like sure at higher domain levels its always a guaranteed gold but like come on throw us a bone and give us this. If i had to choose between a 4 liner or flat stats removed... I would probably go for removing flat stats but still you get my point And I would like them to just decrease the resin regen because I for one just play in the morning for about an hour or 2 (my PlayStation is slow and it takes about a minute or 3 to load) so it would be nice if they decreased it to where i can play in the morning then in the after noon at 8-10 its maxed so i can farm a specific boss or domain again. That would really help since i would want to farm more in a specific day and just do my usual and just farm in the morning for the other days But yea thats my own thoughts about it I love your videos and opinions Mr. Soul keep it up👍👍
They should add a trading system in which we could trade our artifacts for artifacts or boss mats for boss mats this way both old players and new players will be happy
I think Genshin desperately needs a system where you can choose the main stat of the artifact AND the exact piece (like HSR). Instead of spending 3 five star artifacts to get a random piece with a random main stat, I think it would be much better if we could spend for example 5 five star artifacts to get a specific artifact piece and 10 five star artifacts to get a specific piece with a main stat of your choice. This system wouldn't be broken af but it would greatly streamline artifact farming. All of the sets they added into the strongbox are a good start, I just don't think it's enough at this point.
I'm with you in there being some sort of transmute option like what's for weekly boss mats. Make them a bit like Warframe's rivens where you need a rare(ish) resource to do so. We can use Dream Solvent or that Dust shit from the Paimon Shop as the resource (especially since the game loves giving me the former instead of billets). On the subject of resin, I was thinking recently about how the various AR and WL gates don't do much. What would be nice is if increasing your AR and WL _reduced the costs or timers of the various gates,_ another thing that Warframe does (i.e. higher Mastery Rank = larger caps). Imagine if every 10 AR levels shaved 30secs off the resin refresh timer, or reduced the resin cost of activities by 2. This indirectly eases the artifact grind _and_ gives people a more concrete reason to increase their AR since a higher AR allows you to do more with less. Hoyo gets their precious engagement (culminating in yet another staggered 20-pull and a shit gadget come the next anniversary, but I digress) and we players get to feel like we're making real progress. Win-win.
If they actually cared about the player QoL, they might do a system like Disgaea does, with innocents. To put it as briefly as I can, every item in Disgaea games has an "item world." Think of it like a randomized pocket dungeon. Running item worlds can allow you to subjugate innocents (methods vary from game to game), and innocents, are basically characterized stat numbers. You can move them off of items to others, merge them for greater stat bonuses, sometimes even fuse them into dual stats. Point is, its a completely modular system for fine tuning your gear. Farming them can take ages, but you _know_ what you're working towards, and getting. I'd much rather have a system in genshin where it takes a straight week to _build_ one artifact, if it ends up being non-shit at the end of the day. With the sheer volume of playable characters the game has, there's no _reasonable_ excuse for the system they have still being decided entirely by (weighted) dice rolls.
I got a crit dmg circlet with cr substat and %hp for my neuvilete after 4k resin. My only cdmg circlet I've gotten. I immediately rolled 5/5 times into flat defence. 4k resin and not being even one inch closer to gearing for end game is a broken system.
The hsr main stat artifact crafting would be amazing, same for the reroll material, but I'd also remove maybe high and low rolls. It's hard enough to get the sub stats you want and roll into them, I don't need ANOTHER layer of rng on top of that with roll values

After farming for both Genshin and Star Rail, im surprised to enjoy farming in HSR more than Genshin's. They have the same shitty system but its not as bad since support characters dont need much investments. Its just the main DPS that I have to give the best stats. But here in Genshin, almost everyone needs to have good ratio to perform well. Which is why I built every dendro unit that I got. They work and perform good even with 0 CV pieces. Thank good for Nilou bloom, hyperbloom, and burgeon teams
most support in GI dont need heavy investment cos they dont do dmg. There are supports that can even be better on 4 star artefacts like Benet, Yao, Gorou. They ussualy need ER + some stat like EM, HP or def. Only sub dps need investment - XQ, Fichl, XL and hypercaries
Also HSR has autofarm and that "choose how many energy you want to spend" features i wish Genshin had to make the artifact grind less tedious. It's no fun having to walk to the center of the same domain to kill the same monsters 4-5 times per day to only get garbage.
😩 The resin is a nightmare. Haha for three years ive dealt with the battle of getting somewhat great artifacts. I do think they need to raise the resin cap just a bit maybe equal 200. And add the same feature they have for star rail. When you cap. I did have a lot of time to play. But now when i log on lol its capped 🤕 I do spend alot in domains farming those artifacts. And yes it feels amazing getting great stats on some pieces. Just wish it was a tad easier because that grind is so slow. I love genshin though. The characters and exploring just make it enjoyable. I'm no whale , bp and welkin only. And only missing 5 characters ones i didnt pull for besides one. But one day i will have you raiden if i dont loose 50/50 again. I don't know how realistic of a idea/change this would be, but if we had at least some degree of control over the stats we farm for, but not too much to the point where we only farm it once then forget the domain even exists, it would make things a whole lot more bearable. I for one have gotten to the point where I just go for "good enough" pieces since it gets both boring and frustrating to farm the same place over and over again, I get that enough in MMOS..
I got nebylet and rizzly yay for me but holy donkey balls I cant even use them properly since my artifact rng is so bad it makes me feel discourage to pull sometimes, It's like the game just wants me to save primos lol
fixing the artifact problem mainly boils down to giving people more attempts at doing it or reducing some of the many many RNG layers there really isn't much to talk about in this topic the relic and self modeling resin in HSR really didn't do anything cuz they are so stingy about it like yeah you can choose the main stats but thats nothing cuz you want a lot of good sub stats in HSR more than genshin and choosing the piece you want to get is better than a random piece of a set you want but it costs 10 relics as opposed to genshin's 3 artifacts personally i build my DPS characters like this flower and feather i try to get 40 CV cuz its easier to roll cuz of the main stat regardless if there is atk% or HP% or ER% or EM in said piece for sand and goblet i try to get 30 CV or if not possible get a lot of rolls into other stuff like EM or ER% or the stats which the character scales with like atk% for circlet i try for 20 CV cuz its only 1 crit stat and again try to get my EM and ER rolls there i try to aim for 70:130 crit ratio on characters that don't have crit weapon or ascension such as alhaitham
I genuinely didn't know it was possible to make a worse artifact system than Genshin's, but HSR proved me wrong but anyway, idea for fixing this shitty, RNG-infested system: just let people choose which substat to roll into. That is always the most painful part in my experience. Farming nonstop for a good piece just to get shat on by it rolling badly (once had a Pyro damage goblet on Crimson Witch set with Crit Damage, Crit Rate, Attack % and Flat HP....guess which one 4 out of 5 of my rolls went into...). There is still the randomness of the mainstat being completely wrong, the artifact being off-set, or the substat rerolls to be low rolls instead of high rolls (for example Crit Rate substats can roll an increment of anywhere between 2.7 and 3.9) so I think giving players the power to choose the rolls on the one good artifact that they get once every blue moon is a fair ask
I don't know how to fix the resin issue, but all I want is to get rid of the resin you need to spend on the weekly bosses, they are already cap at 3 per week with only 30 resin, so 90 is already is gone for a day or 30 if you use the teapot resin; I just dont see the point anymore on spending resin for weekly bosses even more so if you can only collect three a week
I once had spent 7 months farming the blizzard strayer domain for a better cryo dmg goblet for my ganyu and it was terrible.( this was also before the strongbox was added to the game)
After 47 fragile resin and 7 months worth of resin going to crimson witch domain and yet i still don't have a good crimson goblet or sands (but i have some insane lavawalker pieces like wtf), i've stopped believing in artifatcs
Flat Stats are very valuable for some characters: Flat DEF on Yun Jin Flat ATK on Shenhe Flat HP on Nilou (HP is more useful than the usual ATK% scalers since there is NO way to buff HP without spending $1000 and get Yelan's C4) Healers & shielders can also benefit from them, especially with Furina draining your team's HP (it went from 35% -> 48% -> 54% drain with each beta updates). You might not be able to slack off with running Favge anymore just to keep up with the HP drain) 54% of 40k HP (that's how much HP Furina has in most cases) is 21.6k HP. Goodluck healing that much with Crit circlet to activate favge. If you can't heal that much, your Furina's damage output will fall off since she can't drain her own HP if she's at 50% HP) If you want to remove the Flat Stats, there IS one way to fix it, that is allowing for the same Main Stats to appear on the Substats (eg. HP% Main stats & HP% Substats on the same piece). However, by allowing this to happen, the game's damage floor (for Abyss) will increase once again since you get more stats than before. You will also have a Crit Circlet with double Crit Substats.
Increasing resin cap seems the most obv one that they could do heck honkai has 240 and if you cap it it goes to max 2000 trailblazer power so if you dont feel like farming you can let it cap for whenever you need it In genshin its like oh no i have 159 resin gotta log in get condensed and im good What they also could do is like they did with the def stats is lower that from getting And increase the better valleu’d stats but that seems even more unlickely

One of my ideas to fix the artifact grinding would be to make it similar to the weapon banner and Star Rail's artifact crafting: Your wishes is your condensed resin (I'm going to use condensed resin to make everything clearer), and your pity is increased/decreased by the changes you make to the artifact you want: For every change you make to the final product, it will increase the amount of condensed resin you have to spend in order to get it: - 5 condensed for: Specific piece on the set, main stat and which set (remember that there are 2 sets per domain) - 6 condensed for every sub stat Let's say you only want a Sands (5) with an EM main stat (5) on the VV set (5) = 15 pity, so if withing 15 condensed resins you don't get the piece you wanted, the 16th is guaranteed to be it. But what if you want perfection: Crit DMG main stat (5), circlet (5), Emblem (5) with substats: ER (6), CRIT rate (6), ATK% (6), EM (6) = 39 pity, so if you spend 39 condensed resins (1,560 resin) and you don't get what you want, the 40th is guaranteed to be what you want. Keep in mind that the pity cancels if you somehow get what you want before pity. Also this doesn't guarantees that it will roll as you want, it might as well just roll EM when you want Crit, and the sub-stat values still random, also you have to do this process 5 times per character, there are almost 80 characters, and you still have to farm for their weapon, talents, lvl. I just wanted to make it so people can have guaranteed progress since I have friends who spent 5 months farming for one character and still haven't got that last piece they need.
Adding self molding resin from Honkai Star Rail into Genshin would be great. I don't think it's that much of a stretch the game can improve the artifact system when you consider the artifact strongbox was added like 2 years or so into Genshin's lifespan. It's just with the Genshin development team you never know when or if they decide to improve a certain aspect of the game. Also adding Relic Remains to Genshin would be cool just slap on the premium battle pass and every future event Genshin will have and while it is not as good as self molding resin it is still a plus.
I doesn't care about resin anymore, I already have more than 400 lv 20 5 stars artifacts in my inventory, equipping it to many characters that i don't even use because I have played this game way longer than I should lol. An increase in resin cap would be nice when currently we only be able to store 20 hours worth of resin instead of 24 hours.

Preaching to the choir bro. I was a former Genshin player during patch 1.0 days and this shit was one of the reasons why it turned me off and quit. The ideas I have in mind are to increase the artifact drop amount based on AR and World Level, choose different domain challenges for certain artifact sets, giving 5* artifacts for finding the strong enemies from your journal, and make 5* artifacts start with 4 substats and always drop with the highest rolls. For upgrading a particular substat, there should be 3 varying rolls to land (low, mid, and high) and for balancing sake, you cannot get the same roll type twice in a row, though this balancing concept could make me die on this hill. First point: Me being at AR60 and artifact domains still give me 1 to 2 gold artifacts (2-4 with condensed resin)? They should give more like 8 gold artifacts at AR60. Every AR milestone you reach should give you 2 more gold artifacts. Using condensed resin should also increase the odds of getting more desired substats like getting double crit subs. Also, playing domains in co-op mode should also add more artifact drops and the resin cost gets cut with more players. Second point: Different artifact sets should have separate domain challenges. The better artifact sets will have harder domains, but it will teach you how to utilize the artifact set effects efficiently (for the sake of the theme) and it will increase in difficulty by having different enemy lineups, unique enemy auras/different attack behaviors and AI. You can always either go higher in difficulty to get more drops or if it gets too hard then you could just play the difficulty that you're comfortable with no penalties. Of course the difficult enemy lineups won't be too unbalanced to discourage players. Third point: Finding stronger enemies from the journal should have different movesets/smarter AI and defeating them will drop a random 5* artifact or a low chance to drop an artifact box containing the whole set. Fourth point: Make 5* artifacts always drop with 4 substats and with the highest rolls. I'm tired of seeing some decent 5* artifacts that have 3 subs with double crit and I get a 4th sub that doesn't help and wastes the upgrade potential to my existing substats. Fifth point: I was also thinking about selecting a particular artifact piece that you want on a domain converting all artifacts of that piece in exchange of monster drops. Also probably rework the mainstat distribution chances to be more balanced. You covering the flat stat for substats was what I planned to cover, but you beat me to it. And I apologize for those reading this wall of text lol.
For me the ability to choose which artifact you would get from the Domain is a need I've got a lot of good states in the wrong set, and I'm tired of it
My proposals that will not breaj the game will be 1. Increase max resin to 240. You will still need to log daily but you will not loose resin for loggn morning one day and evening other. 2. Increase max condens resin to 12. You cant hoard it forever but it allows you to log 2 days and spend it on the 3rd 3. dont remove flat stas but raise the value - atm if you roll 18 att thats equal to around 2% att roll. make flatt att rolls 30-50. Make att percentage rolls 7-8%. 4. Increase base crit of chars from 5% to 10%. that will fix resin artefacts for me.
I would appreciate if on character birthdays they would give us fragile resin instead of sending out random useless bullshit that you can easily collect from the open world and one (1) special dish oh and a birthday art posted on twitter ig 😂 other gacha games give out literal gacha pulls on their characters' birthday and hoyo can't even give us some extra resin to spend lmao
im new to the game but since i know what its like to do BS grind, i got used to it immedietly like i have godlike artifacts with double crit ER and attack in which all of it rolls on the attack, and as of now i just sigh and move on i know its not gonna get better since artifact grind is the only thing that stalls the player's climb in power ill be surprised if genshin even add anything that would sooth the slog of a grind
i feel like resin being limited wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the facts EVERYTHING uses resin. getting only 9 artifacts is a pain but fine i can deal with that. But then you pair that up with weekly bosses,talent material,world bosses,weapom ascension and the fact you have to do that cycle for at least 4 characters and thwn the lack of resin becomes a problem. even something as simple as weekly bosses not costing resin since there ome time claims anyway for that week would solve that issue

This problem they actually solved somewhat in their Honkai games... >_< In Honkai Impact 3rd max stamina is also 160, though they allow you to generate reserve stamina when it gets over-capped and you get so many item to boost it. Star Rail takes a step further by increasing the trailblazer power cap as well as the re-generation. Guess they love Honkai more than Genshin T_T
I would have loved if substats didn’t rule the artifact system. Substats should be just that, substats, not important, just a little added bonus. I think substats should not be able to go above 5%. Most of our stats should come from the main stat.
Seeing Honkai have a much better artifact system, even if it shares some of the same flaws as Genshin does really does make me think that Mihoyo just hates the Genshin player base in terms of gameplay/quality of life improvements. The RNG legit makes building any char a fucking chore when it shouldn’t feel that way. Anytime I roll for a certain character the excitement quickly dies down as I realize “oh now I gotta go through artifact farming again”, I have so many unbuilt characters because I simply got tired from having to put up with this extremely tedious process.

@@Soul_of_the_Og I think the Genshin team should talk to the Honkai Star Rail team because to me at least Honkai has a better energy system they went from 160 at the start up to 240 now plus a overflow system which stores your leftover energy after you max out and that stores around 2000 energy or so for me I think Honkai is upping it's game over Genshin I also think farming is more easy in Honkai since you can auto everything because it's turn-based gameplay.

Raising the cap and increasing resin refresh rate would be glorious. Also having a pool that collects any over cap up to certain amount would be lovely. Star rail already done all three and it feels fantastic.
One of the worst parts is that even if you do get a perfect artifact, even you do get optimal sub-stat growth, that too can be screwed over since sub-stat growth is also random with minimum and maximum values
Yeah the percentage to get the main stat and the sub stats you seek is usually a*s since you're most likely to get flat health/attack (they represent 15% both of them) but when you upgrade the sub stats they're 25%/25%/25%/25% so if it rolled entirely on defense you're just very unlucky.
I think it would help a ton if they gave away more fragile resin in general. It wouldn't hurt the balance of the game and wouldn't hurt the causal users either since they don't use them anyway.

To help everyone with future headaches, it's okay to use a cope 4star atifact if it rolls right. The game is not hard enough to where the rarity of one artifact will stop you from a 36star abyss.
Or just not bother forcing set bonuses!! Going from a 5* to a 4* piece is usually really bad, much worse than a minor decrease from running 2pc2pc or rainbow.

You can 36 star the hardest content with mid artefacts and any unit. After the first 3 welkins I am f2p and play less than 2 years. I can bit abyss 36 with 6-7 very good teams +with a 60 sec to spare. I have all my units that I play on reasonable artefacts. again f2p.

atm I actually pull only chars that I find fun storywise or gameplay wise. I didnt pull Yellan for example cos I find her too similiar to XQ but I got Dehya... cos she is cool.
Moreover as F2p all my chars are level 70 at least with 20 of them level 90. I have 20 mil mora, 800 books etc.
I will say that in fact the game is more fun as F2p. After I pull 5 star I want to play with that char at least 3-4 months. Pulling 5 star every 3 months feels like bigger event.

EDIT: My suggestion to fix the artifact problem is just decreasing the resin replenish time. Making it like 1 every 5 minutes would help a lot! I might even venture to say I would love to see 1 every 3 minutes. Obviously not gonna happen, but it would be nice tbh. Also increase the Condensed from 5 to 7 at the very least!
My idea is simply reserve resin similar to Honkai star rail reserve "resin". Having resin that you can still collect over time will mean that you won't lose time for letting your resin cap, and you can hold 10x the resin in reserve like in star rail. I think this is a better way to do resin.

How I would fix the resin/artifact system:
1. Make the energy system the same as star rail. Make it 240 or more, refresh faster, and added excess energy system. No need of that condensed Resin to waste ur time chasing butterflies for 5 minutes too. U might say it's unrealistic but Genshin changed their dailies and team setup because people in Star Rail like it. So In my opinion it's realistic they improve Genshin system to HSR.
2. Give artifact leveling materials when u salvage artifacts. Coming for Star Rail again, relics turned into upgrading materials when salvaged, this removes the need to expand ur artifact storage cause that materials is put on other type of storage, gives you more convinient when upgrading, no need to multiple clicking "Auto add" cause the thing stacks, Genshin artifact max lvl is on 20 compare to HSR 15, so Genshin need more XP (assumption maybe the xp amount is the same but idk) and lvling mats is more needed than Mora. Mora itself u can already get when ur AR 60 from the excess XP.
3. Make the artifact substats already upgraded, and unlocked when u level them up. Looking at another game that has similar system, the artifact substats is already maxed (like 30% crit DMG substat) but it's unlocked and not used unless u upgrade it till lvl 20. This makes it very good because now, u know what artifact to invest and put lvl on before you upgrade them, no more need to pray for RNG Gods to upgrade the correct substats, cause it's going to go flat defense anyway.
4. Put Self Modeling Resin. There's no need to explain, u said so in the vid itself about needing anemo cup. It'll improve getting the correct main stats.
5. Substat reroll system. Have a rare material that can downgrade ur artifact back to lvl 0 so u can reroll the substats again. To balance it don't give back the materials that u already put in that artifact. So now u can reroll that Def, Crit, Crit DMG, ATK substat of yours.
6. Make the crafting like Star rail where u can pick the piece u want to pick and new artifacts is immediately craftable. Having to hoard a material and craft the artifact the moment they release without touching the domain is gonna feel much better. If u disagree with the 10:1 or 3:1 ratio, I'm personally fine with it, that's just subjective topic.
That's my suggestions, I have more but it's probably unrealistic. Cause Genshin Hoyo wants ur time and money let's be real.

An idea I've always thought of was just lowering the resin cost of certain things. For example, make weapon acesion mats like 10 or 5 resin. It fixes the problem of needing to farm multiple things on the game and I honestly think it then gives injerent value to some thongs you spend your resin on compared to others.
Also it's not like 20 is the minimum amount of resin you can spend on something since the lowest is 10 on the blue enhancement crystals.
or opposite, keep mat resin same but make artif cost a quarter
Another suggestion is making goblets like electro, cryo, pyro ect into one stat being elemental damage

I've had the idea of a consumable item that would temporarily increase resin refresh speed , like maybe once per big event you get an item that increases refresh speed by 25% (from 8 minutes to 6 minutes) for like a week
Event story, archon story quests and especially world mission also waste our time, they don't respect their players time
I still think its silly that they don't just raise the amount of Resin based on either World Lvl or Adventure Rank, I mean its not unheard of for other gacha games to have progression in their energy resource systems, or just flat out lower the cost because as someone coming from FGO, the Resin cost for domains and weekly bosses is insane compared to FGOs AP costs.
Artifact farming reminds me of the gear farm in many Diablo-like games
Hell some of them are even MORE of an rng hellscape than in Genshin in terms of getting the stats you want if you can believe it
The difference between them though really is Resin; in those games you can just grind as long as you want until you get the gear you desire, but in Genshin you're so heavily timegated and blocked by Resin (like you said, only 9 artifacts a day at most assuming you don't replenish it) that it feels significantly worse to end up with a pile of useless garbage (which you will 98% of the time) than you will in other games, since you can't even keep grinding for that dopamine fix
As someone who likes to go artifact farming, I also believe in choosing their own artifacts to build characters. It is still a sort of a gacha system when it comes down to it, with main stats, substats, solo, and relying on rolls to even solo get the right substat to solo roll. The same way I also would love that solo the gacha system was player friendly solo, for all of us really are you okay.
I appreciate that you're trying to stay within Mihoyo's business model, but the core issue of the artifact system is that THERE ARE 5 LEVELS OF RNG and the best way to fix it would be to lower than number. Probably the most reasonable would be to allow sets or specific pieces to be pre-selectable. Just one of those alone would be a major improvement, but two would be god-like. As annoying as the randomness of stats can be, it's nothing new and starting back from the beginning if you get the wrong piece is balanced by being able to feed a useless piece imo. It's the fact that it takes forever just to get the right piece on the right set that you want that's overkill! But again, lowering any of the randomness would go a long way to alleviate how god-awful the gearing system is. It's one of the reasons I'm further not interested in playing HSR and I lament over how it'll most likely be what happens in ZZZ. T.T
at AR55+ they need to make it so you can get 2 artifacts MINIMUM for 20 resin runs. and the balance out the % of each main stat. i'm probably wrong, but last i read, HP%/DEF% was around 25% and the elemental stats were around 10%.
not to mention, i think they also change the % depending on the artifact domain (this is probably not feasible but my tin hat theory). for example, getting DEF% sands in every domain, except the Husk domain. like how??
In my opinion, all grinding systems in every gacha game ever waste time. This would be perfectly fine on its own if it weren't for the fact that most grinding is incredibly repetitive and boring. Games are meant to be fun and to pass the time, but grinding in such games goes against the very purpose of games.,,,
I was literally just commenting somethings similar to this yesterday. I wouldn't mind having to grind so much if 1. It wasn't so limited as to tie much grinding you can do in a day and 2. Was more fun and respected the players time.
It took me 3 months to get enough good em pieces in the dendro damaged domain to get my nahida to 1k em.

I'm not against the concept of grind, but I'd rather be grinding materials to make something, than grinding the _chance_ to get something better than what I have. I'd rather go mining for 300 units of iron to make a better sword, than kill some elite mob several hundred times, who has a less than 1% drop chance for it. I can track the progress on the 300 iron. I can't track shit when it comes to mathematically impossible drop chances.
The basic thing to do in order to take a step toward making artifact farming better is making the chances to roll particular sub stats equal across the board, the current higher chances to roll def or hp over other stats is not adequate
having two different types of resin would be a good idea. One variant of resin could be for artifact domains, while the other variant would be for everything else. Of course each variant would have there own condensed versions, and fragile resin and transient resin could fill either or. Another thing is i personally dont think adding more resin is a good idea, now some may say "now i have more resin to split between farming artifacts and characters mats" but in reality they would just use it all for artifacts, and in the end all it would do is slightly increase there chance of getting better artifacts. hot take i know, i just dont think an extra 40 or 80 resin would mean much of anything.
What about a epitomized path for artifacts so you get x amount of artifacts you are guaranteed to get one of the main stat you want
Yeee a similar system exists in epic seven. You gotta farm a certain number of gears so that you can choose the set you need and it'll give a gear of the hightes rarity. Cannot choose main stat but hey, whatever loosens the rng up a little :)
I think one of the really good ways those things could be implemented could be by putting them in abyss shop, where the currency would be stars from spiral abyss you've collected. Even when your account is not cracked you should be able to clear 9 and 10 easily, maybe 11, and that would not only help both newer players to make their account better a tiny bit quicker, it would help veterans with limiting amount of time they have to spend farming even more, given they spend so much time doing that already, but it would also be a good motivation to actually go and do spiral abyss.
How to fix the resin system
1.) cut the wait time for one resin in half/make it 4 minutes instead. 8 minutes is absurd
2.) cut the resin cost for everything in half. So everything that's 20 is now 10, everything that's 40 is now 20, the trounce domain bosses can stay 30 permanently though
3.) Increase the amount of materials dropped in domains (this goes especially for mora, exp books, and talent books.)
4.) Increase the resin cap, it's been at 180 since 2.0? Maybe even before that, I don't recall
5.) Increase the amount of Condensed Resin we can make
How to fix the artifact system
1.) Let us choose which set we want to farm. Going into an artifact domain needing/wanting to grind for a specific set and not getting a single 5 star piece of the desired set feels incredibly awful
2.) Get rid of the flat stat bonuses, no one likes them, we're tired of them, be gone
3.) Increase the odds of getting Crit rate/dmg/EM as a main stat for the circlet
4.) Idk how it'd work but instead of having every elemental dmg type, have it be an Elemental DMG cup instead, phys can stay since there are some characters that still want that
5.) Instead of dropping one 5 star piece, rarely 2, why not drop 2 when spending a single use of resin (so spend 20, get 2 artis guaranteed, with a chance of getting 3)
i agree with the idea of increasing the rate of which you regain resin, i also like how star rail does it, if you don't spend it, it stores it but at a slower rate, casuals win by not losing out on getting capped out, and the tryhards are self explanatory, another thing that could prove useful is to increase the purchase cap on transient resin, everytime your teapot increases a level. let's say at level 1, you can't purchase any at level 5, you can purchase 1 and at 10 you can purchase 2. it's not big but it helps those of us who really wanna be optimal

Decreasing Resin regeneration rate from 8 minutes to 6 minutes and increasing the cap from 160 to 240, as well as increasing Condensed Resin cap from 5 to 6 would be a very good change that wouldn't even hurt miHoYo at all.
I wish they make condensed resin unlimited. It will not break the game since
1. the amount of resin you accumulate over time is the same as you play daily.
2. It help people who are having day to day job or just dont have any time on weekdays to play by just login, condensed all resin and burn all of them in the weekend.
3. Also help people who dont know what to farm, still new to the game, casual people who dont play that much but still want to build their favourite current/future character to hoard a lot of resources and have fun burn them later

I'm a working person, one of the people you call "casual" (though it doesn't prevent me from 36* abyss or doing all the events and stuff, i'm not f2p, i buy welkin here and there, not even every month, usually 3-4 times a year, and yeah, i'm day 1 player). And sometimes i can't login into the game every single day. I can be too tired or simply busy with smth else. It'd be so great not to see my resin go to waste. I won't feel pressure to login today that way knowing that every extra resin is stored separately there and i can login later and spend it like fragile. Yeah, let it also restore slower, but it'll be of a huge help in the long run. That way you won't feel like you've missed smth. And if someone says that it'll dmg the online attendance (or whatever it's called), i assure you - it won't. People who log in daily may miss a day or two, but if they tend to login everyday they'll continue to do so. And people who already log in twice or so a week will continue to log in same way but now they will play longer, 'cuz they'd need to spend that extra resin, and maybe they will start logging in more often, who knows. Anyway i don't think this feature will ruin the game.

I never experienced it to be tedious just because i only farmed 2 artifact domain in my one year playthrough. Thats for two character i.e neuvillette and wanderer. My moon resins thing is 100+ and rarely comverts them. The only thing i struggled with is getting elemental damage bonus
A few things that would come to mind would be if we could just buy fragile resin in the srarglitter shop. Would solve the problem? Maybe not but I think it would be an improvement.
Or maybe some events where the cost of all domains could be cut in half. Or more resin as event rewards or adventure handbook
Maybe rise up the condensed resin limit at least to 10.

yeah i farmed the fontain artefact domain from the release first for liney and then for wrio. I logged in daily twice first to condense and then to use all the resin on said artefakt domain. I got my first marasussy artefact with over 30 crit value TODAY. I leveled mostly only 4 statliner with both crit stats and after around 28 +20 marasussy artefacts i got my first attack sands that has 10.9% critrate and 13.4% critdamage which is the first artefact overall that has over 30 critvalue from this set. And the best is I have a really above average golden trupe set from farming this domain. Im glad i have friends to farm artefacts regulary, i couldnt imagine playing this game solo because artefact rng in this game is amongst the worst of any game i played.
i might be insane because I genuinely enjoy artifact farming (same goes for relics in star rail too) but I think I enjoy it too much because there are some characters that I haven’t built yet because I’m so glued to artifact farming. Example is Childe who I got a year ago, but he is still 40/50 yet he has max artifacts on him.

i have been focus farming for ayaka for 2+ years and collect cryo characters, and i haven't gotten a decent cryo cup, below 30cv no atk/er sub stat on any
- I just want an epitomized path to target the main stat I want on a specific artifact piece.
- if an artifact reaches Level 20 and I’m not happy with the subrolls, I want to be able to re-roll the subrolls. sometimes you get a piece with Crit Rate and Crit DMG, but the rolls all go to the fricken useless stats such as Flat DEF or Flat HP. so i wanna be able to re-roll a level 20 artifact at least just once.
- a mechanic where we can make 1 substat of our choice to not roll. the subrolls will only roll on the 3 substats of our choice.
- also, I wanna be able to convert artifact pieces into those bottles of artifact level up liquid.

For the article set i love the idea of getting rid of all the flat numbers (except EM) because lets face it barely or doesn't help at all to the damage. And rerolling at least 5 time is amazing but maybe let it reset when spiral abyss resets or when a new version comes out(i know this one is dumb but eh it could work) and of course changing the mainstat would be a DREAM to have since i have good enough substarts but not a good main stat(not leveled just locked) so it would be amazing if they did implement it

If hoyo can just let us have a full 4 liner at higher domain levels. Like sure at higher domain levels its always a guaranteed gold but like come on throw us a bone and give us this. If i had to choose between a 4 liner or flat stats removed... I would probably go for removing flat stats but still you get my point
And I would like them to just decrease the resin regen because I for one just play in the morning for about an hour or 2 (my PlayStation is slow and it takes about a minute or 3 to load) so it would be nice if they decreased it to where i can play in the morning then in the after noon at 8-10 its maxed so i can farm a specific boss or domain again. That would really help since i would want to farm more in a specific day and just do my usual and just farm in the morning for the other days

I think Genshin desperately needs a system where you can choose the main stat of the artifact AND the exact piece (like HSR). Instead of spending 3 five star artifacts to get a random piece with a random main stat, I think it would be much better if we could spend for example 5 five star artifacts to get a specific artifact piece and 10 five star artifacts to get a specific piece with a main stat of your choice. This system wouldn't be broken af but it would greatly streamline artifact farming. All of the sets they added into the strongbox are a good start, I just don't think it's enough at this point.
I'm with you in there being some sort of transmute option like what's for weekly boss mats. Make them a bit like Warframe's rivens where you need a rare(ish) resource to do so. We can use Dream Solvent or that Dust shit from the Paimon Shop as the resource (especially since the game loves giving me the former instead of billets).
On the subject of resin, I was thinking recently about how the various AR and WL gates don't do much. What would be nice is if increasing your AR and WL _reduced the costs or timers of the various gates,_ another thing that Warframe does (i.e. higher Mastery Rank = larger caps). Imagine if every 10 AR levels shaved 30secs off the resin refresh timer, or reduced the resin cost of activities by 2. This indirectly eases the artifact grind _and_ gives people a more concrete reason to increase their AR since a higher AR allows you to do more with less. Hoyo gets their precious engagement (culminating in yet another staggered 20-pull and a shit gadget come the next anniversary, but I digress) and we players get to feel like we're making real progress. Win-win.

If they actually cared about the player QoL, they might do a system like Disgaea does, with innocents.
To put it as briefly as I can, every item in Disgaea games has an "item world." Think of it like a randomized pocket dungeon. Running item worlds can allow you to subjugate innocents (methods vary from game to game), and innocents, are basically characterized stat numbers. You can move them off of items to others, merge them for greater stat bonuses, sometimes even fuse them into dual stats. Point is, its a completely modular system for fine tuning your gear. Farming them can take ages, but you _know_ what you're working towards, and getting. I'd much rather have a system in genshin where it takes a straight week to _build_ one artifact, if it ends up being non-shit at the end of the day. With the sheer volume of playable characters the game has, there's no _reasonable_ excuse for the system they have still being decided entirely by (weighted) dice rolls.

I got a crit dmg circlet with cr substat and %hp for my neuvilete after 4k resin. My only cdmg circlet I've gotten. I immediately rolled 5/5 times into flat defence. 4k resin and not being even one inch closer to gearing for end game is a broken system.
The hsr main stat artifact crafting would be amazing, same for the reroll material, but I'd also remove maybe high and low rolls. It's hard enough to get the sub stats you want and roll into them, I don't need ANOTHER layer of rng on top of that with roll values

After farming for both Genshin and Star Rail, im surprised to enjoy farming in HSR more than Genshin's. They have the same shitty system but its not as bad since support characters dont need much investments. Its just the main DPS that I have to give the best stats. But here in Genshin, almost everyone needs to have good ratio to perform well. Which is why I built every dendro unit that I got. They work and perform good even with 0 CV pieces. Thank good for Nilou bloom, hyperbloom, and burgeon teams
most support in GI dont need heavy investment cos they dont do dmg. There are supports that can even be better on 4 star artefacts like Benet, Yao, Gorou. They ussualy need ER + some stat like EM, HP or def.
Only sub dps need investment - XQ, Fichl, XL and hypercaries
Also HSR has autofarm and that "choose how many energy you want to spend" features i wish Genshin had to make the artifact grind less tedious.
It's no fun having to walk to the center of the same domain to kill the same monsters 4-5 times per day to only get garbage.
😩 The resin is a nightmare. Haha for three years ive dealt with the battle of getting somewhat great artifacts. I do think they need to raise the resin cap just a bit maybe equal 200. And add the same feature they have for star rail. When you cap. I did have a lot of time to play. But now when i log on lol its capped 🤕 I do spend alot in domains farming those artifacts. And yes it feels amazing getting great stats on some pieces. Just wish it was a tad easier because that grind is so slow. I love genshin though. The characters and exploring just make it enjoyable. I'm no whale , bp and welkin only. And only missing 5 characters ones i didnt pull for besides one. But one day i will have you raiden if i dont loose 50/50 again. I don't know how realistic of a idea/change this would be, but if we had at least some degree of control over the stats we farm for, but not too much to the point where we only farm it once then forget the domain even exists, it would make things a whole lot more bearable. I for one have gotten to the point where I just go for "good enough" pieces since it gets both boring and frustrating to farm the same place over and over again, I get that enough in MMOS..

giving people more attempts at doing it
or reducing some of the many many RNG layers
there really isn't much to talk about in this topic
the relic and self modeling resin in HSR really didn't do anything cuz they are so stingy about it
like yeah you can choose the main stats but thats nothing cuz you want a lot of good sub stats in HSR more than genshin
and choosing the piece you want to get is better than a random piece of a set you want but it costs 10 relics as opposed to genshin's 3 artifacts
personally i build my DPS characters like this
flower and feather i try to get 40 CV cuz its easier to roll cuz of the main stat regardless if there is atk% or HP% or ER% or EM in said piece
for sand and goblet i try to get 30 CV or if not possible get a lot of rolls into other stuff like EM or ER% or the stats which the character scales with like atk%
for circlet i try for 20 CV cuz its only 1 crit stat and again try to get my EM and ER rolls there
i try to aim for 70:130 crit ratio on characters that don't have crit weapon or ascension such as alhaitham
I genuinely didn't know it was possible to make a worse artifact system than Genshin's, but HSR proved me wrong
but anyway, idea for fixing this shitty, RNG-infested system:
just let people choose which substat to roll into.
That is always the most painful part in my experience. Farming nonstop for a good piece just to get shat on by it rolling badly (once had a Pyro damage goblet on Crimson Witch set with Crit Damage, Crit Rate, Attack % and Flat HP....guess which one 4 out of 5 of my rolls went into...). There is still the randomness of the mainstat being completely wrong, the artifact being off-set, or the substat rerolls to be low rolls instead of high rolls (for example Crit Rate substats can roll an increment of anywhere between 2.7 and 3.9) so I think giving players the power to choose the rolls on the one good artifact that they get once every blue moon is a fair ask

I don't know how to fix the resin issue, but all I want is to get rid of the resin you need to spend on the weekly bosses, they are already cap at 3 per week with only 30 resin, so 90 is already is gone for a day or 30 if you use the teapot resin; I just dont see the point anymore on spending resin for weekly bosses even more so if you can only collect three a week
I once had spent 7 months farming the blizzard strayer domain for a better cryo dmg goblet for my ganyu and it was terrible.( this was also before the strongbox was added to the game)

After 47 fragile resin and 7 months worth of resin going to crimson witch domain and yet i still don't have a good crimson goblet or sands (but i have some insane lavawalker pieces like wtf), i've stopped believing in artifatcs
Flat Stats are very valuable for some characters:
Flat DEF on Yun Jin
Flat ATK on Shenhe
Flat HP on Nilou (HP is more useful than the usual ATK% scalers since there is NO way to buff HP without spending $1000 and get Yelan's C4)
Healers & shielders can also benefit from them, especially with Furina draining your team's HP (it went from 35% -> 48% -> 54% drain with each beta updates). You might not be able to slack off with running Favge anymore just to keep up with the HP drain)
54% of 40k HP (that's how much HP Furina has in most cases) is 21.6k HP. Goodluck healing that much with Crit circlet to activate favge. If you can't heal that much, your Furina's damage output will fall off since she can't drain her own HP if she's at 50% HP)
If you want to remove the Flat Stats, there IS one way to fix it, that is allowing for the same Main Stats to appear on the Substats (eg. HP% Main stats & HP% Substats on the same piece). However, by allowing this to happen, the game's damage floor (for Abyss) will increase once again since you get more stats than before.
You will also have a Crit Circlet with double Crit Substats.
Increasing resin cap seems the most obv one that they could do heck honkai has 240 and if you cap it it goes to max 2000 trailblazer power so if you dont feel like farming you can let it cap for whenever you need it

ive been complaining about the artifact system in the surveys for over 2 years but all they gave us is strongboxes i doesnt even make sense anymore for it to be this bad with the amounts of characters in the game but yeah i would put in rerolls in the game as well one to change 1 stat and one to change the roll you got on lvl up +kill all flat stats+ artifacts drop with all 4 stats and max rolls no need for rng for the sake of rng
One of my ideas to fix the artifact grinding would be to make it similar to the weapon banner and Star Rail's artifact crafting:
Your wishes is your condensed resin (I'm going to use condensed resin to make everything clearer), and your pity is increased/decreased by the changes you make to the artifact you want:
For every change you make to the final product, it will increase the amount of condensed resin you have to spend in order to get it:
- 5 condensed for: Specific piece on the set, main stat and which set (remember that there are 2 sets per domain)
- 6 condensed for every sub stat
Let's say you only want a Sands (5) with an EM main stat (5) on the VV set (5) = 15 pity, so if withing 15 condensed resins you don't get the piece you wanted, the 16th is guaranteed to be it.
But what if you want perfection: Crit DMG main stat (5), circlet (5), Emblem (5) with substats: ER (6), CRIT rate (6), ATK% (6), EM (6) = 39 pity, so if you spend 39 condensed resins (1,560 resin) and you don't get what you want, the 40th is guaranteed to be what you want.
Keep in mind that the pity cancels if you somehow get what you want before pity. Also this doesn't guarantees that it will roll as you want, it might as well just roll EM when you want Crit, and the sub-stat values still random, also you have to do this process 5 times per character, there are almost 80 characters, and you still have to farm for their weapon, talents, lvl.
I just wanted to make it so people can have guaranteed progress since I have friends who spent 5 months farming for one character and still haven't got that last piece they need.
Adding self molding resin from Honkai Star Rail into Genshin would be great. I don't think it's that much of a stretch the game can improve the artifact system when you consider the artifact strongbox was added like 2 years or so into Genshin's lifespan. It's just with the Genshin development team you never know when or if they decide to improve a certain aspect of the game. Also adding Relic Remains to Genshin would be cool just slap on the premium battle pass and every future event Genshin will have and while it is not as good as self molding resin it is still a plus.

I doesn't care about resin anymore, I already have more than 400 lv 20 5 stars artifacts in my inventory, equipping it to many characters that i don't even use because I have played this game way longer than I should lol. An increase in resin cap would be nice when currently we only be able to store 20 hours worth of resin instead of 24 hours.

The ideas I have in mind are to increase the artifact drop amount based on AR and World Level, choose different domain challenges for certain artifact sets, giving 5* artifacts for finding the strong enemies from your journal, and make 5* artifacts start with 4 substats and always drop with the highest rolls. For upgrading a particular substat, there should be 3 varying rolls to land (low, mid, and high) and for balancing sake, you cannot get the same roll type twice in a row, though this balancing concept could make me die on this hill.
First point: Me being at AR60 and artifact domains still give me 1 to 2 gold artifacts (2-4 with condensed resin)? They should give more like 8 gold artifacts at AR60. Every AR milestone you reach should give you 2 more gold artifacts. Using condensed resin should also increase the odds of getting more desired substats like getting double crit subs. Also, playing domains in co-op mode should also add more artifact drops and the resin cost gets cut with more players.
Second point: Different artifact sets should have separate domain challenges. The better artifact sets will have harder domains, but it will teach you how to utilize the artifact set effects efficiently (for the sake of the theme) and it will increase in difficulty by having different enemy lineups, unique enemy auras/different attack behaviors and AI. You can always either go higher in difficulty to get more drops or if it gets too hard then you could just play the difficulty that you're comfortable with no penalties. Of course the difficult enemy lineups won't be too unbalanced to discourage players.
Third point: Finding stronger enemies from the journal should have different movesets/smarter AI and defeating them will drop a random 5* artifact or a low chance to drop an artifact box containing the whole set.
Fourth point: Make 5* artifacts always drop with 4 substats and with the highest rolls. I'm tired of seeing some decent 5* artifacts that have 3 subs with double crit and I get a 4th sub that doesn't help and wastes the upgrade potential to my existing substats.
Fifth point: I was also thinking about selecting a particular artifact piece that you want on a domain converting all artifacts of that piece in exchange of monster drops. Also probably rework the mainstat distribution chances to be more balanced.
You covering the flat stat for substats was what I planned to cover, but you beat me to it. And I apologize for those reading this wall of text lol.
Been farming the domain for 360+ days and still didn't get a decent electro goblet. Still using atk% one...
For me the ability to choose which artifact you would get from the Domain is a need I've got a lot of good states in the wrong set, and I'm tired of it
My proposals that will not breaj the game will be
1. Increase max resin to 240. You will still need to log daily but you will not loose resin for loggn morning one day and evening other.
2. Increase max condens resin to 12. You cant hoard it forever but it allows you to log 2 days and spend it on the 3rd
3. dont remove flat stas but raise the value - atm if you roll 18 att thats equal to around 2% att roll. make flatt att rolls 30-50. Make att percentage rolls 7-8%.
4. Increase base crit of chars from 5% to 10%.
that will fix resin artefacts for me.
I would appreciate if on character birthdays they would give us fragile resin instead of sending out random useless bullshit that you can easily collect from the open world and one (1) special dish oh and a birthday art posted on twitter ig 😂 other gacha games give out literal gacha pulls on their characters' birthday and hoyo can't even give us some extra resin to spend lmao
im new to the game but since i know what its like to do BS grind, i got used to it immedietly
like i have godlike artifacts with double crit ER and attack in which all of it rolls on the attack, and as of now i just sigh and move on i know its not gonna get better since artifact grind is the only thing that stalls the player's climb in power
ill be surprised if genshin even add anything that would sooth the slog of a grind

i feel like resin being limited wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the facts EVERYTHING uses resin. getting only 9 artifacts is a pain but fine i can deal with that. But then you pair that up with weekly bosses,talent material,world bosses,weapom ascension and the fact you have to do that cycle for at least 4 characters and thwn the lack of resin becomes a problem. even something as simple as weekly bosses not costing resin since there ome time claims anyway for that week would solve that issue
man all i want is to remove flat stats rolls when rolling artifacts strongbox. new players should have an easier time with progress because they will feel like hell starting the game fair, they will want so many characters at once even in the reruns. that’s already exhausting, just give them an easier time for artifacts progression.
This problem they actually solved somewhat in their Honkai games... >_< In Honkai Impact 3rd max stamina is also 160, though they allow you to generate reserve stamina when it gets over-capped and you get so many item to boost it. Star Rail takes a step further by increasing the trailblazer power cap as well as the re-generation. Guess they love Honkai more than Genshin T_T
I would have loved if substats didn’t rule the artifact system. Substats should be just that, substats, not important, just a little added bonus. I think substats should not be able to go above 5%. Most of our stats should come from the main stat.
Seeing Honkai have a much better artifact system, even if it shares some of the same flaws as Genshin does really does make me think that Mihoyo just hates the Genshin player base in terms of gameplay/quality of life improvements. The RNG legit makes building any char a fucking chore when it shouldn’t feel that way. Anytime I roll for a certain character the excitement quickly dies down as I realize “oh now I gotta go through artifact farming again”, I have so many unbuilt characters because I simply got tired from having to put up with this extremely tedious process.
