Joe Horn was one of the better receivers of the 2000s that doesn't get his due today. If people know of him, most people only think of his cell phone celebration he had against the Giants. But Joe Horn could absolutely play, and games like this show that
Well said , for some reason the first thing I think of when I hear his name is the cell phone touchdown celebration on espn sunday night football back in the day
I love watching these to see how the league has changed. I’m always thinking there’s gonna be flags called for certain hits and then I forget tackling was allowed back then 😂
Thank you so much for posting this game. The ‘06 Season was my first year going to Saints games when I was like 8. I remember being at this one. Thanks for the nostalgia!
This was the first year the Superdome reopened after Katrina and several weeks later, the Eagles and Saints met once again at the Superdome for the playoffs.
That season both in the dome the same final score saints win both games. The way how the saints use the entire 8mins to close out the game was unbelievable
True! And the playoffs later same venue and score and team results, eagle quarterback Jeff Garcia started in the playoffs in place of injury to Donovan McNabb.
Yet another fire upload. This channel is clutch. You uploaded my last request, can we make it 2/2? Can you upload either Browns vs Ravens Week 16 2002 or Ravens vs Browns Week 1 2004?
Even though im a packers fan i say rest in peace to the great jim johnson who i would say is on belicheck and buddy ryans level and monte kiffin as one of the best defensive minds ever
4:47 simpler days.. This is the definition of a catch. Now in 2023 refs be like: "Due to the temporal Flux of the Kentucky bluegrass, and the receivers intention to attempt to catch the ball, as the football was spinning at 132.4 RPM and was simultaneously caught in the receivers hands while the players left testicle was out of bounds, the pass is incomplete. Also, due to the players testicle being out of bounds, we have Unsportsmanlike conduct on offense number 11. That's number 11's first Unsportsmanlike foul of the game for disqualification. Can you please reset the game clock to 4: 20 thats four minutes, 20 seconds." 2nd Ref (Throws flag) "Unsportsmanlike conduct, Referee #69 for making a joke" 3rd Ref (Throws flag) Coach (Throws Challenge Flag)
Watching these vids make me cringe sometimes when you see how many games are hugely affected by the “Brady Rule” or the “play was blown dead” stuff that used to happen and decide games. If you look back those rules were completely idiotic!
Their playoff game later that year was a classic. Never gonna forget that hit Sheldon Brown laid on Reggie Bush.

Classic 🔥🔥🔥
It’s crazy that both games ended with the same exact score
Yeah sheldon has a huge penis

Ah yes, watching a throwback game at 7:00am EST. Great way to start off the day 🔥
me: watching it at 11:00 PM AEDT what a great way to end the day watching my team lose a throwback game
Yessir
@Keith Cousins are you alright? Why do you comment about Kirk cousins in basically every video by the NFL and related channels?
@Keith Cousins He Absolutely Is Sir!
The last time Reggie Bush ran a swing route he got blown up by Sheldon Brown
2006 divisional playoffs 👌🏾
Favorite Eagles hit next to Brian Dawkins' flying tackle against the Giants.
I disagree.
He ran a swing/wheel route one week later for an 88-yard touchdown against the bears in the NFC title game.
Yeah, the saints won that game though..
I love watching these to see how the league has changed. I’m always thinking there’s gonna be flags called for certain hits and then I forget tackling was allowed back then 😂
It still is, of course.
Amazing how the Eagles made the playoffs that season with Jeff Garcia going 5-1 off of the bench over the final 6 games
Jeff Garcia was nice tho!
We lost twice to the saints that year by the same score with two different Quarterbacks
The last time I was this early Donavan McNabb was still throwing dimes
Na 2008 was
Still throwing up
He was top 5 qb most of the early 2000s people forget
Crazy how Brees is still playing and mcnabb is now jalen hurts Just shows the ways things have changed through the decades.
This was an emotional letdown for the Eagles, a week after the heavily hyped Terrell Owens return game to Philly as a Cowboy
Forgot how much of a baller Joe Horn was. The 2006 Saints wasn't the greatest, but it was such a fun team and a fun ride.
This is a great prequel to the NFC Divisional Playoff game
Lmao I thought this was the game Reggie bush got blown outta his cleats
That was the playoff game later that year.
Fun fact: The score of this game was the same score as the NFC Divisional playoff game against these 2 teams a couple months later
Thank you so much for posting this game. The ‘06 Season was my first year going to Saints games when I was like 8. I remember being at this one. Thanks for the nostalgia!
That's why I watch these nostalgia

Brian Westbrook was very underrated
He was Reggie bush basically but better

Last time I was this early, Joe Horn made a phone call after a TD.
Yup on old school espn sunday night foot5
Brees as a young fella lol BTW Deuce was a beast at running back!
legit 2006 before pre HD
That intro is classic! Yes!
Amen
Isn’t this the game where the saints held the ball for almost the entire 4th quarter
Damn and Uncle Drew still going at it, I don't even remember 06 LOL
Back when the nfc east was not laughable!
Fun fact: after this video, Malcolm Jenkins helped both franchises win their first Superbowl ever.
True! And the playoffs later same venue and score and team results, eagle quarterback Jeff Garcia started in the playoffs in place of injury to Donovan McNabb.
is it just me, or does every player forget you can’t advance a muff?
Katrina has really made a difference in New Orelans....

so many legends wow bush mcnabb brees i hate him dawkins McAllister brian westbrook tracy porter wow... the good ol days
Was hoping for the Saints Eagles 2013 playoff game
At 7:15 it looks like that Saints player shoved that guy into the Eagles returner? Or it could’ve been a bad camera angle
Even though im a packers fan i say rest in peace to the great jim johnson who i would say is on belicheck and buddy ryans level and monte kiffin as one of the best defensive minds ever
Back when Vinivich still had soul. Sad times how far he has fallen.
NFL Throwback has 420k subscribers...nice
I was more excited when we hit 69K subs 🤷♂️
The Reggie Bush gets murdered game
7:44 the Micheal thomas play!!!!
The saints black jerseys with gold pants look way better than the black pants that they almost always wear now
The gold pants is basic
@@IllMatic97 it just makes the jersey with the gold numbers look better in my opinion. I do like the white jersey and black pants look though
I agree. I miss the gold
I still believe if Joe horn played in that nfc championship game vs the bears the saints would've won that game
Who else is watching while in school?
Damn I knew this wasn't the game Reggie got destroyed but I was still scared at 0:29
That was a like 7 minute drive to end the game.. kick the field goal with 3 seconds left... HA HHA HA HA HA HA HA

Honestly I just scheduled it for the wrong time haha
@@NFLVault Hey I’m not complaining 🤣. I thought it was a nice surprise to wake up to.
Good to know! Maybe I’ll do it more often!
Crazy to think that Drew Brees is probably the only guy from this game that's still playin
Wow this early I like it
Jeff Garcia would play instead of mcnabb in the playoffs
Could yall do generation throwback justin jefferson randy moss
War damn eagle 🦅

So you’d rather watch backup QBs all year?
What week did Mcnabb get hurt that year?
Eagles: Chelsea!
Saints: PSG!
I’m expecting a much much worse result this weekend
Mets vs cardinals game. I think this was the year the mets OF robbed that HR... Cant remember his name for shit... Killing me
Titus 1:16
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
this was when the eagles owned the saints
More like the other way around since the Brees/Payton era.
@@brandedmcgowan9414 and they only win against the saints in the bress and Payton era was this year!!!!?
I hope Drew Brees comes out of Retiremenent if the Saints dont have a QB for some reason 2021
