I am a Lions fan, and I remember this game, if it weren't for the 0 yard pick 6, they might have won this game, and would have game back from 45-10 down.
Majority of Lions fans wanted him out by the end of the season he wasn't taking us anywhere. People just remember the good with him because of how bad Patricia is
@@julianharrison7193 I admit he isn't a great head coach but this Lions team under him had good pieces. Other than the fact this team still had no running game, offensive line, and defense other than Darius Slay and Ezekiel Ansah. I feel like if fans and ownership were more patient and added a few more talented pieces I feel like they could've had some playoff success. Then in 2018 they regress under Patricia with basically the same roster. But that's my view on it.
@@JCP405 Well that's the thing. This roster with a few more pieces had potential and while Caldwell got us to that point, he wasn't the one to take us to the next level. We thought Patricia was and he obviously wasn't so he'll be out by the end of the year if not earlier. A bad coaching hire unfortunately
It's very difficult to decide how good a player Matt Stafford is and how much blame he deserves for the lions losing. He makes incredible throws, tough as nails and can have success against the top corner backs.....but he will also throw ridiculous Interceptions, have you yelling "who are you throwing too!" Or " "why would you try to throw it to that receiver" or " how can you take a sack on 3rd and short!"...... but, you can't ignore the mediocre running game he's endured, defenses that give up a lot of points early in a game, so offense has to abandoned run game. And defenses that can't protect a big lead late in the game.
@@willieross8117 how can someone be trash when the offensive line has never been good, running game has been bad and continues to be bad, I mean he's a gunslinger you expect a bad pass or too. Brett was the same way.
Yeah I definitely remember this game. This also felt like the longest game I’ve ever watched in my life and it didn’t even go into OT. I felt like it was never going to end. So glad my saints didn’t blow a 45-10 lead, but I had a feeling after we got that lead, they’d take their foot off the pedal. All it took was one Lions TD and you could feel the momentum start to swing. Also, that 0 yard pick-six by Cam Jordan was definitely the icing on top to this weird game.
I love watching Lions games on NFL Throwback... Reason: 1. There always high scoring 2. No defense being played whatsoever 3. All passing plays 4. Lions blowing a lead or coming back from a deficit 5. Lions always losing
High scoring, with lots of sacks, and interceptions (including pick-6 by a d-lineman on each team). The League had to love this; I'm sure they wish ever game was like this...
I remember being at the game and predicting the pick six by Lattimore right before it happened. Also remember that hurdle by Kamala vividly. Superstar Rookies!
That kickoff reception out of bounds messed with my head. Actually had to look up the rule: if it goes out of bounds before making it to the end zone, the receiving team gets it at their own 35 (I assume it was the 40 at the time of this game). Makes sense to assure the kickoff goes far back enough to give the return team a chance, but I didn't know the penalty was that significant.
This was such a weird game with so many quirky stats, I don't think any highlight reel can do it justice. The NFL seriously needs to consider uploading the whole game. Lol
Why was Jim Caldwell fired from the Colts and then the Lions? In Indianapolis he had one bad year where a team designed to rely on Peyton went 2-14 because Manning was hurt. In Detroit he went 9-7 and got fired. I don't think it was fair in either case.
Man that announcer totally jinxed it at 10:12. “Saints would set an NFL record if they can get through this one without a turnover”. Same play, turnover. Wtf???!!!
No matter what he's had for receivers over the years, overall the teams always just kinda been trash. They've never assembled a team his entire career u thought ok maybe they could win ot all. Its really too bad he's very talented but its tough to win in his situation
I remember this game, good offense and good defense combined.
Very rare that that happend any more.
Very good defense
Oh my god is this the game we almost blew a 45-10 lead lmao
And to the Lions too. I was watching that game too and I was freaking out
You can also say that it’s a shootout because of the points scored
Saints are fucked we have both of our starting CBs out, MT out again. Jared cook out, and Davenport is still out
CONTENT DELETED fac
Sir it is indeed
Falcons, take notes. This is how you survive when it looks like you're about to make a big collapse

THIS WOULD OF BEEN THE GREATEST COMEBACK IN NFL HISTORY 😂😂
True
The Vikings hold that now
After 3 winning seasons in 4 total the Lions still fire one of the best head coaches they had in a long time in Jim Caldwell.

"the saints will set and nfl record if they dont turn the ball over"
saints: turn the ball over on the very next play
That was too funny.
I was watching this game and as soon as the commentator said that I knew the Saints were going to turn the ball over on that play
Matt Stafford has played pretty well in the post-megatron era despite his team record the last few years
It's very difficult to decide how good a player Matt Stafford is and how much blame he deserves for the lions losing. Stafford is and was trash 🗑
Perhaps he will be good on rams.

Was at this game, Section 604. My first Saints game live. This was such a roller coaster of emotions, lol!

This was the turning point in the saints these last 4 years... they had finally gotten over .500 for the first time since 2013
I remember watching and thinking to myself "bruh" when the Lions started coming back.
I love watching Lions games on NFL Throwback...

1. There always high scoring
2. No defense being played whatsoever
3. All passing plays
4. Lions blowing a lead or coming back from a deficit

Lions Almost make history
Lions out of all the teams were the closest to make the largest comeback ever
@@jonathanfrimerman8855 I mean, they had the QB with the most 4th Quarter comebacks so makes sense.
saints almost gave the falcons a run for their money during this game
The Falcons would've blown that lead
Facts
Without a doubt
Its like the falcons don't know what to do with the lead
I remember this game i was shocked that the Lions came back and nearly won
That was the biggest collapse the Saints had in the last 20 years or so
High scoring, with lots of sacks, and interceptions (including pick-6 by a d-lineman on each team). The League had to love this; I'm sure they wish ever game was like this...

We really could have won this one
I was at this game, sitting in the lions section. When i left my voice was gone.

what about the 2014 saints lions game? that was a complete comeback!
Yea I remember that. I was in shock lions almost come back
That was crazy. I went to the fridge saints were up 31-7. Lmfao
They really jinxed Drew Brees on that pick

Goodness I have never watched so many turnovers haha
I feel like an alien visiting another planet seeing fans in the stands. It almost seems foreign now

how ironic that they needed 295 straight plays to break that record and on that play Brees throws a pick lol
So many turnovers and odd pick sixes!
Ah yes the beloved stretchy shirt tackle
Go lions 🦁 thanks nfl
I wish the Saints would wear their gold pants more often. They look like the Raiders but in gold. They wear too much black too often.
yoooooo i was at the dolphins falcons game that day
Can someone please explain to me what that blue flag is that the ref threw at 15:01
It's to mark the spot of the fumble, they throw it every time
