Wow, you made that look easy. I need to install a cat flap in a double glazed window. I've been quoted £500 ($625) by local people. I think I'll have a go myself. I'll see if I can get hold of some old sealed units to practice on first. What do I use to seal the unit once I have cut the holes out? Can not be metal as the cat flap has an RFID reader built in. Thanks
Couple of things. Toughened glass is unable to be cut!, by law low level glass, in door, next to door must be toughened saftey glass,... The hole is great and using bohle glass circle cutters are great for me need to done prior to avoid shells etc. Plus the hole will need to be sealed plus spacer bar or flex super spacer to give support on vent and of course keep water n rain out of insulation.. Orded double glazed unit with vent approx 240 mm in dia 80 mm upstand. That's your best bet. If you change the unit over yourself it's fairly easy job.. Good luck mate
you will be paying those people to do it any way, glass doors are tempered thats why it cost so much because they have to order the glass tempered with hole precut
Its not that simple, with Double Glazing you need to get it cut professionally otherwise you will get a build-up of condensation inside the glass divider. DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME
So true bro….. Hate when customers say “well I seen it done on UA-cam”. I tell them sorry ring someone else that does them, I don’t sorry lol and away I go onto the next job.
@@Sythorize actually i've been trying to write a book where when we need to open the latch of the window... you need to cut a similar circular hole and pull it out... but yes the ball stick he used did shatter my hopes... so I just wanted to know if it's possible to pull it out without making noise... thanks
@@Kickbasser Yes, it's exactly the ball end of a glass cutter. The one he uses is admittedly the largest I've seen by far! I'd surmise a bit overkill though, for anyone below contractor-grade... X)
Hello i'm the guy from the video this is a special cutter. İ have buy completly as a set and this is not the bottom from circle its only forn crack the glass. İts not easy too cut the glas like this.
finally... the solution is here. most of the videos show how to get the circle from windows. we dont want the circle. we want hole.
Exactly what I needed to know how. Thanks man.
But this is a special cutter you cant cut it with normal circle
Hi thanks for sharing. What does it mean special cutter? Can you provide specification or type ? Thx
Brilliant!
Many thanks for sharing as I need to install an extractor fan in the bathroom window.
🙏🏼👍🏼😊
Doesn't this completely destroy the idea of double glazing with a vacuum
How elegant! Thanks!
This is what I need now. To cut a hole exactly as you cut it yours. Thank you
Don't
Can you please tell us what the brand of your tool is?
Thanks mate, i have bought the circle cutter recently but don’t exactly know how to use it in a proper way.. 👌🏻😉
What is the tool he is using for tapping the glass and does it matter if you use something else?
Isn't there gas in double glazed window for insulation so you can't cut them...
Yes sometime but i put the gas out before i cut the glass
How you take gas out? And what type gas is, to put it back? Thanks
Yes, it's called air.
@@zydomason No, it's called argon gas.
@@haslakk how you take thé air out and put it back in
I wish you made the video bit more longer and fitted the fan and was looking for something like this and the tapper was good .
Where do you get this tool ?
Wow mind blow. I have a glass door in the kitchen and was thinking how on earth I'm gonna cut my glass. Now at least know its possible.
Not if it’s tempered glass.

Precisely. I thought double glazed windows had to be sealed
Its exactly this easy to cut a hole. Condensation is another matter
ITS not Kondensation. After cutting i finished it with silicon and After 7 years i didn't See Kondensation
@Suzi I’m thinking of doing this - if I cut the holes I can seal it up with silicon?
Very nice job
You are the man
Genius !
Beautiful cut
You have a link to buy this cutter and other tool?
Wondering the same thing. Mostly interested in the glass tapper.
I have robbed couple of houses thanks to this. I’ve got a macbook and airpods last run. 😂😂
That's pretty cool man, I've been getting away with mass murder for the past few months thanks to a DIY home decor video I found on facebook 😂😂😂😂

why?
Or for air ventilation in the kitchen.
To install the radiator fan or cat flap you need to measure the glass and order a double glazed panel with hole cut and sealed.
How can you remove it quietly. Isn't that the point? The loud tapping he did was almost like breaking loud.
You trying to rob people or something?

Not bad at all. But I see some shelling on the edges. I'd say pretty impossible to get it out perfect without shells.
Yes but this is the cheapest and easyest way. This is a special cutter you cant cut a hole like this with a normal cutting circle
Hi where can I buy this tool?
Any hardware store will sell this. It's called a circular glass cutter. I found them on Amazon as well.

Looks like a long screwdriver with a metal ball on the end.
